"Unbelievable! He actually fused with the Wind Spirit!"
"No way! This power..."
"This is insane! Ethan Hayes actually..."
From the spectator stands, everyone stared at the projection stone in amazement as Ethan Hayes's image came into view.
The Wind Spirit's appearance had already shocked them earlier. Now, the sight of Ethan fusing with the Spirit and his magic power surging to unprecedented levels was beyond anything they could have imagined. Even the magic potency emanating from him seemed to suppress his six opponents.
"Ha ha, Ethan Hayes, you've truly exceeded my expectations!"
The Wizard King smiled once more. After moments of doubt, hope surged anew within him.
However, he quickly masked his emotions. Spirit Assimilation—while undeniably powerful—might not guarantee victory. Ethan wasn't battling a single opponent; he was up against six. The outcome remained uncertain.
"Wind Spirit Magic—Spiritual Tempest!"
A massive wave of magic gathered around Ethan, swirling in green torrents. With a single motion of his left hand, the gentle, invisible winds solidified into a tangible force.
A laser-like blast shot forth, its energy tearing through the terrain. The ground cracked and a trench stretched far and wide, heading straight toward the six opponents.
"Ahh!"
Nebula and the others were quick to counter. All six unleashed their own magic attacks, colliding against Ethan's assault in a dazzling display of power.
Boom!
The two forces clashed, unleashing shockwaves that swept across the forest. Ancient trees were uprooted and hurled skyward, while the ground beneath their feet fractured like glass. It was as if the earth itself would soon give way to an endless abyss.
Those watching the battle were awestruck.
"Incredible! Is Ethan really just a commoner?"
"The wielder of a four-leaf grimoire truly is exceptional."
"But... the six of them might actually lose."
Whispers of disbelief rippled through the crowd. Even some noble spectators, who initially defended the alliance, began to feel uneasy. If Ethan managed to defeat all six of them, their collective humiliation would be immeasurable.
"I can't keep this up..."
Ethan swiftly retreated. While his Spirit Assimilation had boosted his abilities, holding off six opponents simultaneously was still a monumental challenge. Prolonging the battle would only lead to exhaustion. He needed a strategy—and fast.
With his newfound speed, Ethan's mobility was vastly improved, comparable to Light Magic in agility. This newfound advantage gave him control over the battlefield.
"Watch out! His speed is unreal!"
Ethan's movements left the six disoriented. To their eyes, his figure blurred and shifted unpredictably. One moment, he was on their left; the next, he appeared on their right. His erratic pace left their attacks floundering.
"Wind Spirit Magic—Spirit Sword!"
In an instant, a glowing, emerald-green blade materialized in Ethan's hand. Determination burned in his crystalline eyes as he struck.
"Argh!"
The Spirit Sword slashed into Xerx, Vice-Captain of the Purple Orcas, with overwhelming force. The wind's sharp, needle-like currents surged into Xerx, leaving him convulsing in pain and unable to continue fighting.
"Mercury Magic—Quicksand Mire!"
"Fire Creation Magic—Falling Inferno!"
"Spatial Magic—Spatial Rift Blades!"
"Water Creation Magic—Water Tornado!"
The remaining five instantly retaliated. Quicksand spread across the ground, threatening to trap Ethan's feet, while a scorching inferno rained down from above. Spatial blades cut through the air, and a whirling water cyclone surged toward him.
Every direction—above, below, left, and right—was sealed off. The five coordinated seamlessly, leaving no avenue for escape.
Spectators held their breath as the camera panned to the projection stone. This moment would decide the battle's outcome.
Would Ethan prevail, or would the alliance finally subdue him?
