"Welcome, travelers from another world. Lady Mana has informed us of your arrival—please follow me."

As Hikaru Amagi and Bastion Misawa stepped through the portal and into the front gates of the Village of the Spellcasters, they paused to breathe in the crisp air—only to be greeted by several Duel Spirits walking toward them.

Leading them was a female spirit with deep blue hair and a ruby headdress. Hikaru gave her a curious look, unable to place her at first. Bastion, on the other hand, recognized her immediately and politely bowed. "Ah, you're… Eldeen, right? It's an honor."

Seeing Bastion's demeanor, Hikaru followed suit and offered a respectful greeting.

Eldeen? Hikaru wracked his memory for a moment before finally recalling the name—wasn't she a Level 3 LIGHT-Attribute Normal Monster with 950 ATK? He vaguely remembered seeing her among Alchemist Manroun's byproducts.

Eldeen gave a kind smile and gestured for them to follow her.

The Village of the Spellcasters was nestled deep within a sprawling forest. Treehouses dotted the canopy, and golden sparkles of magic occasionally swirled through the air like friendly fireflies, circling around them in greeting.

Not a bad place at all.

Hikaru waved back to the passing spirits.

He saw all sorts—treefolk, ancient spirits, shining fairies, aqua sorcerers, high priestesses… even the Dark Magic Curtain users that Seto Kaiba had a peculiar fondness for.

Eldeen led them to a large central treehouse, which seemed to serve as a gathering hall or guild hub.

"Welcome, dimensional visitors. Thank you for escorting them, Eldeen," said a cheerful spellcaster with pink hair and feathery wings, standing at the reception desk.

It was Injection Fairy Lily—a pretty powerful card, especially in this world.

"Please, write down your names and details here."

Hikaru and Bastion exchanged glances. Bastion let out a quiet sigh. "This is the first time we've been welcomed this warmly in another dimension…"

"Haha," Lily chuckled. "This Village is a cross-dimensional haven created by the Three Sages and several powerful mages. All magicians are welcome, and from time to time, spirits of other types drop by too. No one really bats an eye anymore."

"The Three Sages? Would that include Aleister?" Hikaru asked casually.

"What?! Aleister!?" Bastion's face instantly paled. "Is that Aleister here?!"

Even though Hikaru had defeated Professor Banner, Aleister had left a massive impact on Bastion. In his eyes, Aleister was a god-tier monster who'd reshaped his entire understanding of Fusion.

Before that, Hikaru's dueling style had simply left him awestruck—so many variations, so many routes.

"You know Lord Crowley?" Lily blinked in surprise, then smiled. "That was a long time ago. He hasn't been seen in the Village in ages. None of us are sure where he is now."

So that meant…

No chance of sneaking in a copy of Invocation while he was here.

"You two may write down your target of challenge here," Lily said, handing them a scroll. "If your desired opponent happens to be interested—or is looking for a spar—they might accept your trial, and then you may duel them."

"Oh yeah?" Hikaru nodded. "Then… can I write 'Dark Magician'?"

"Ahaha… guest, you've got quite the sense of humor." Lily forced a smile and coughed lightly. "The Dark Magician is the ultimate spellcaster…"

First the Three Sages, now Dark Magician? This guy had guts.

"That said… you can absolutely write his name. Maybe someone inspired by him will respond?"

She didn't completely shut him down.

So Hikaru got to work.

He quickly scribbled down his name, a short profile, his catchphrase, and a summary of his deck—then added a bold line:

"Fusion is the most noble form of summoning. I am a duelist seeking fusion perfection. If you share that vision—respond to my call!"

Then he wrote down a whole list of targets:

Dark Magician, Dark Magician of Chaos, Magician of Dark Illusion, Dark Sage, Dark Magician - the Ultimate Wizard—whatever variants came to mind.

When he finished, the scroll floated up, hovered in the air, and the writing slowly disintegrated—like it had never been written at all.

"Tsk, tsk…" Hikaru shrugged. Not surprising.

"Yes!" Bastion suddenly whooped nearby.

He'd written "Mathematician" on his scroll. It drifted gently, spun in mid-air, sprouted wings, tapped him once on the forehead, then soared out the window.

"Hikaru, I'm off!" Bastion shouted, running after it in excitement.

"Mathematician, huh? That old geezer's a kind soul," Lily said with a grin. As Bastion left, she waved and cheered, "Good luck, guest!"

Hikaru scratched his head, just about to fill out another request when a voice called out—

"Yo. Hey, kid. You a warrior from the human world? Wanna write my name down on that application?"

Hikaru turned, and his pupils shrank. His mouth hung open.

It was a bald middle-aged man in a clean white lab coat, wearing opaque black goggles that completely hid his eyes. A bold, confident smile stretched across his face, hands shoved in pockets like he owned the place.

"Ah—Professor Scientist, you're up early!" Lily waved enthusiastically.

"Morning, Lily," he replied, stepping forward.

"Y-You're… Magical Scientist!?" Hikaru gaped.

A banned card—A forbidden card!

"You've heard of me? Ha!" The man rubbed his chin and let out a hearty laugh. "Looks like my fame's spread even into the human world."

Spread? It was infamous.

Hikaru twitched. Back in his original world, Magical Scientist was known as the second most broken monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! history. An OCG nightmare. Practically a cheat code.

"I saw your application—you're a fusion duelist, huh?" Magical Scientist said, thumbs still hooked in his lab coat pockets. "Well, guess what? I'm a magician who chases after fusion perfection too. I'm not ready to leave this world yet, but I've got loads of experimental fusion constructs. Why don't you challenge me and take a look?"

"That's exactly what I was hoping for!" Hikaru answered without hesitation, immediately jotting down Magical Scientist's name on his new request.
