Chapter 28 - An Exclusive Blacksmith

That's right, the person who had appeared in front of Leon was the captain of the Hephaestus familia, Tsubaki Collbrande, the first master craftsman of Orario.

Tsubaki wants to see him?

"Oh, oh, you're here."

Seeing Leon, Tsunaki immediately greeted him happily.

"I've brought him here, and I'll leave the commission to you."

Buck nodded to Tsubaki, then turned around and left, leaving Leon here.

"Excuse me, what do you want to see me for?"

Looking at Tsubaki's enthusiastic attitude, Leon asked with some doubts.

He has had no prior intersection with Tsubaki.

Could it be that Hestia told Hephaestus about him, and then Tsubaki knew about it and wanted to see him?

That shouldn't be the case. Although Hestia had asked Hephaestus for help, there was no need to do this.

"Nice to meet you, I am Tsubaki Collbrande, you can just call me Tsubaki."

"What's your name?"

Tsubaki nodded, but did not tell her purpose for inviting Leon over. Instead, she introduced herself and asked for Leon's name.

"Leon Morningstar."

Leon nodded slightly and said.

"Leon Morningstar?"

"I will call you Leon from now on."

"Leon, where is your weapon? Let me see it."

Tsubaki nodded, and then her eyes fell on the weapon on Leon's waist.

Leon was a little confused, but he pulled out the long sword from his waist and handed it over.

Tsubaki took it and observed it carefully. The more she looked, the more satisfied her expression became.

"Sure enough, you take good care of your weapon."

"This weapon has experienced a lot of battles, but it is only worn to this extent."

"Leon, let me be your exclusive blacksmith."

After carefully observing Leon's weapon for a while, Tsubaki looked up and said to Leon.

Leon was stunned and didn't say anything. He just looked at Tsubaki with a puzzled look, as if asking why.

Why would Tsubaki, one of the best craftsmen in Orario, take the initiative to work for an adventurer like him who uses a third-class weapon?

She should look for a first-class adventurer to be a personal blacksmith to, right?

"I like equipments very much."

"Nowadays, adventurers don't take good care of their equipments."

"I have seen the sword you sent over a few days ago. You take good care of your equipment, right? I am optimistic about you."

"However, I originally thought that your care for equipment was only to the extent of the past few days."

"But today, it seems that you really care about your weapons."

"There are so many traces of battle on it, but the degree of wear and tear on it is only to this degree. If it were someone else, it would have been damaged long ago if it didn't have the Durandal property."

"I like your care for equipments very much."

"Originally, I just wanted to help you maintain your equipment. But I have changed my mind now. "

"Let me be your exclusive blacksmith."

"Given your situation, I think you will treat the equipments I forge well."

Looking at Leon's puzzled expression, Tsubaki could more or less guess what Leon was thinking. After placing the long sword on the workbench beside her, Tsubaki explained with a smile.

For blacksmiths, weapons and equipment are basically half of their lives.

For Tsubaki, equipment is her life. It is a very lucky thing for a blacksmith to be able to hand over their creation to someone who loves it.

In Orario, finding such a person is almost like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Many blacksmiths even get sad because their creations are damaged by the improper use of adventurers.

For example, when Tiona was on an expedition, her weapon Urga was corroded by a new type of monster.

After returning and informing the blacksmith of the Goibniu family about this, the blacksmith who had participated in the creation of Tiona's weapon Urga felt like the sky had fallen.

And meeting a person like Leon who cherishes his weapons, Tsubaki naturally had a good impression of him. So she had proposed to help Leon's with his weapon maintenance a few days ago.

But today, she saw that Leon's care for his weapons was beyond her imagination.

She could see that Leon's weapon had experienced at least hundreds of very fierce battles.

If it were other adventurers, after such a battle, their weapons would have been damaged long ago. Even maintenance wouldn't be able to get them back to usable condition.

But although Leon's sword was worn out, it could be restored through maintenance.

Tsubaki naturally knew what this meant.

It was also a blessing for her to be able to hand over her creations to such an adventurer.

After listening to Tsubaki's explanation, Leon was slightly enlightened and nodded in understanding.

Leon didn't know much about blacksmiths.

But he, who had read many novels in his previous life, could more or less understand the idea that blacksmiths would want their creations to be handed over to someone who cherishes them.

If this had happened a few days ago, Leon would feel embarrassed.

After all, he didn't know much about weapons and wasn't actually taking good care of them.

The only reason his sword wasn't as damaged as it should have been was entirely because he hoped to reduce the wear and tear as much as possible, so that he could fight for longer.

But now, Leon didn't have that awkwardness.

The Divine Protection of the War God made Leon very familiar with weapons.

Also, his understanding of weapons made him have a special feeling for them, and he would naturally take care of his equipment.

"How about it, do you want to sign a contract with me?"

Looking at Leon's reaction, Tsubaki smiled and spoke again.

"Then please take care of me, Tsubaki."

Facing Tsubaki's repeated questioning, Leon smiled and nodded. He stretched out his hand to Tsubaki.

"Ah, please take care of me in the future."

Tsubaki stretched out her hand and shook Leon's hand.

"Please leave your sword here, and come back tomorrow to get it."

"I promise to maintain it perfectly."

After releasing Leon's hand, Tsubaki turned around and looked at the long sword on the workbench.

She stretched out her hand and gently stroked the sword, murmuring as if talking to himself.

"Well, then I'll leave it to you." Leon nodded and asked.

"Well, leave it to me." Tsubaki patted her chest and said.

Leon: "..."

"Come on, follow me to my office, let's sign an exclusive contract."

Tsubaki didn't notice Leon's gaze, She turned to walk towards the door.

Seeing this, Leon followed her.

The two soon came to an office, and signed an exclusive contract between a blacksmith and an adventurer in the office.
