Chapter 54 - Two Spots

After saying this, Horikita Manabu seemed to have anticipated it, immediately replying, "If there's something you want, just say it."

Standing beside him, Horikita Suzune heard this and instantly lifted her head to look directly at the boy.

Upon learning that her brother intended to have this Hashima-kun help her, the girl's emotions had been complex.

She wanted to prove her abilities, but Horikita Manabu had flatly refused. Now, hearing that the other party could even make demands to her brother, she became even more curious about Hashima-kun.

"Well... I was originally planning to ask Senior Horikita for individual points," Hashima Hikaru said with a smile, running his hand through his hair. "But then I thought, if it's just collecting points, it seems a bit too cheap."

"Your Class B is collecting points, right? This is a great opportunity. Why change your mind?"

"It's simple. Since Senior Horikita trusts me so much, asking me to help Horikita-san rise to Class A, I can't let that trust go to waste." The boy smiled gently and continued, "If it's just collecting points, it would become a simple transaction."

"That's not something I like. I prefer mutual assistance."

"Hmph, then what do you want?" Horikita Manabu stared at Hashima Hikaru, unable to quite grasp the other's attitude.

"I can help Horikita-san grow in the future, but Senior Horikita needs to give me two spots," Hashima Hikaru held up two fingers. "Two spots in the student council."

"Oh? You weren't willing to join the student council before, were you?"

"Of course not me. I'll find two suitable candidates, and then have them submit applications to the student council. At that time, Senior Horikita must unconditionally allow them to join, and once they're in, you can't make things difficult for them."

Hashima Hikaru smiled, his tone somewhat cheerful: "How about it, can Senior Horikita agree to this condition?"

"..."

The bespectacled man heard this, thought carefully for a moment, and then made his decision.

"Alright, you can tell me the names of these two people, and I'll have Tachibana Akane keep an eye out for them."

Horikita Manabu nodded, indicating his acceptance of the request, and then said, "If you start reaching into the student council now, it might alert Nagumo."

"It doesn't matter. We'll have to face him eventually. Since his goal is to uphold true meritocracy, we juniors can only accept the challenge."

Hashima Hikaru spread his hands, indicating it was no big deal.

"Then it's settled."

Facing the boy's relaxed attitude, Horikita Manabu didn't say anything more, but turned to look at the black-haired girl standing beside him.

"Suzune, exchange contact information with Hashima-kun."

"..."

Although Horikita Suzune wasn't very familiar with Hashima Hikaru, since her brother had spoken, she had no choice but to step forward and take out her phone to exchange numbers with the boy.

After the two finished exchanging numbers, Horikita Manabu looked at his stubbornly expressioned sister, his tone softening slightly.

"Suzune, since you want to catch up to me so much, let me see it," the man adjusted his glasses and said to the girl, "Hashima-kun will assist you. If you can reach Class A before I graduate, I'll acknowledge your abilities."

"I..."

"Don't reject others' help. Hashima-kun noticed the school's abnormalities on the first day of school. Such talent is unprecedented among students."

Horikita Manabu knew what his sister was thinking and said calmly, "That's why I'm having him help you. You're currently lacking in too many areas, and ability is just one aspect."

"I won't ask Hashima-kun to be your follower or bodyguard. In the future, you can discuss any plans with him, but how he helps you is entirely up to him."

"I understand. I'll work hard and definitely show my progress to my brother!"

Horikita Suzune nodded firmly. Since her brother was willing to give her this opportunity, she wouldn't refuse.

"Hashima-kun," seeing his sister accept this arrangement, Horikita Manabu turned to the boy beside him, "Your goal should be leading Class B towards Class A, right? During this process, you can appropriately guide Suzune and help her understand her shortcomings."

"Senior Horikita, rest assured. Since you've agreed to my request, I naturally won't go back on my word."

Hashima Hikaru held up his phone and said to the man in front of him, "Let's exchange contact information. Once I confirm the names of the two people, I'll send them to you."

"Alright."

Horikita Manabu nodded and exchanged phone numbers with Hashima Hikaru. This scene, witnessed by Horikita Suzune beside them, made the girl feel that the Hashima student in front of her was extraordinary.

Horikita Suzune had witnessed the entire conversation. Although her brother had initially controlled the situation, as time passed, she realized the boy had proactively taken control of the conversation, steering it in the direction he wanted.

"Well, that's all for today. You can head back to the dorms. I still have some things to do, so I'll take my leave."

After saying this, Horikita Manabu left without a trace of hesitation, disappearing into the darkness of the campus.

"Horikita-san, please take care of me in the future," Hashima Hikaru looked at the girl standing beside him with a gentle smile.

"Hashima-kun, when did you and my brother... when did you meet President Horikita?" Horikita Suzune ran her hand through her ink-black hair, seriously gazing at the boy's face.

"Hmm, it should have been after school started. We met on the playground."

Hashima Hikaru knew what she was thinking and quickly responded, "Since Horikita-san's goal is to rise to Class A, I'll silently support you in the future."

"But you should know that I'm currently in Class B, so I can't openly help the enemy. We'll communicate via phone in the future." The boy explained slowly, "You can message me about any situation, and I'll give you my opinion."

"If there's a really troublesome situation, I'll find a chance to meet you, but try to keep it to a minimum."

"I... got it."

The girl nodded, but in her heart, she wasn't very willing to frequently message a boy she had just met. She also had no experience texting friends.

"Hehe, don't think about not messaging me," Hashima Hikaru smiled, shaking his phone. "I've already exchanged contact information with Senior Horikita. If you don't message me..."

"I'll... understand, right?"

"..."

This guy!

Horikita Suzune gritted her teeth. She didn't expect that the person who had just exuded an aura not inferior to her brother would now reveal his malicious side.

"If I encounter any problems, I'll tell you directly. Please rest assured, Hashima-kun!"

"That's more like it. We're now comrades, so we'll advance together, Horikita-san."

"Yes, Hashima-kun."

Horikita Suzune glared at the boy, who still wore a light smile, and turned to leave quickly, as if unwilling to stay here a moment longer.

"Tsk, what an unlovable person."

Hashima Hikaru opened his phone. Today had been a fruitful day, as he had added four people's phone numbers.

Hirata Yōsuke, Kushida Kikyō, Horikita Suzune, and Horikita Manabu.

These were all sources of information and needed to be utilized well.

Hashima Hikaru 's proposal for the two student council spots actually already had a suitable candidate in mind, depending on how things went with the other party later.

After all, he had just spent 50,000 system funds. If he couldn't make a big profit, wouldn't it be a waste?
