Stepping into the office Lalith was still in daze from the happenings before. She walked straight to the couch before putting the lunch that she received from Zydus.
"Has he gone?" Came a timid voice that made Lalith coming back to the reality. She looked up and saw Shether on the same position as before not even moving a little bit.
Lalith nodded and Shether exhaled. "You know how afraid I was." Shether expression relived and she told Lalith "He called you just after I badmouthed him. I thought he heard me." She said patting her chest.
Lalith opened her mouth to say something but Shether cut her off , " No, Lalith. You don't know but he has eyes and ears in every corner of this city and maybe out of the city of country too." She shrugged.
Who knows this better then Lalith. When Zydus revealed her identity Aster, that was hidden tight. She was sure that he is not a simple man.
She nodded thoughtfully while looking down.
"He came to give you lunch. But why is there two ?" Looking at two lunch boxes Shether asked.
"You can have one. Let's eat, it's already lunch time." Lalith said remembering about Rosella.
When she was just about to touch the box, the office door opened with a thud. They got stunned and looked towards the door. Standing up they saw Adam entering the office.
"Lalith, are you okay? Where were you? And why didn't you answer my calls?" Adam walked straight to Lalith, looking at her worriedly, filled the silence with questions.
Lalith finally remembered about Adam searching and calling for her and felt guilty. Shether who was also stunned to see Adam this worried, looked behind Adam and saw ten to fifteen men in purple formals standing behind him.
"What the hell?" Before Lalith could reply Shether's astonished voice came from behind her.
" I am fine Adam. I just went to meet someone and my phone was on silent." She lied not wanting him to know about the marriage. As she was still not sure that the marriage will last. Shether heard and looked at Lalith, who gestured her to keep silent. After that she also looked behind Adam. All the men bowed at her and she nodded
"What's all this?" Lalith asked with confusion and bit of anger. The Sanver group was mysterious and was never seen in public like this, so no one knows very much about it. Taking men in public with their uniforms, was like showcasing them. It's not the time yet to do anything like that.
She was mostly worried about Zydus. What if he saw Adam with them. And not to ask about the company's people. Too gossipy.
"Do you even know what have you done? And you, Joseph? You didn't exhort him?" Seeing the anger in her voice, Adam calmed down a little and Joseph looked down at his feet, understanding the situation.
"I couldn't find you and thought you are in danger. So I called them urgently." Adam's guilty voice sounded and he gestured with his hand making all the men went down including Joseph after bowing to Lalith.
"Don't worry. I checked before coming, no one saw us. Because of lunch time, They were either in mess or outside." Adam told her and the tension eased in the room.
"I understand but don't do this again, even if it's for me." Lalith said solemnly.
"I understand." He nodded and wanted to say something more when ringtone sounded and all of them knows that it was Lalith's.
Adam looked at Lalith questionably and Lalith not noticing his gaze took out her phone from her trousers and answered it. Walking past them and reaching at the window, she stopped;
"I will pick you in the evening." Zydus's low voice sounded and Lalith smiled forgetting all about previous matters.
"Okay." She answered and he hummed before call got disconnected.
She turned to see the two people one was stunned and one was smiling mysteriously. She walked upto them.
"I will come to Sanver tomorrow." Lalith said to Adam who was still thinking about the call that csn make ice queen smile. His heart felt heavy. He knew he was not in position to ask anything, so nodded and left.
After having lunch and calming Shether down she went to Rosella's office. After knocking and hearing the reply, she entered.
"Lalith, come sit." Rosella was sitting at the chair and reading a file. Looking up at Lalith she smiled. Her beauty still on point even after reaching at forty.
"Aunt." Lalith called her out making her smile motherly.
"You still know that I am your aunt?" She said in angry tone. At that Lalith nodded with a sheepish smile.
"You should have told me first before doing anything like that Lalith." Rosella seriously reprimanded her. Lalith sat there looking down quietly.
