Chapter 63 - Chapter 62: Mechanical Catastrophe – Nano Swarm

"I've looked at all current records of Catastrophes and man-made disasters, and I believe this world's understanding of power has gone down a wrong path. A very stupid, incomprehensible wrong path. They treat the gifts of gods as objects of fear to be isolated; I believe this is a very unreasonable thing. Even enough to be called utterly foolish. They call predictable—I want to emphasize, predictable—patterns of large-scale energy attacks occurring periodically, Catastrophes; this is too laughable."

What is a qualified site capable of blocking all Catastrophes?

Li Lin didn't think one should build an Ark, or forge something like the Tower of Babel to hide. Quite the opposite, Catastrophes are a reverse gift, a transmission of energy. If one could utilize the immense, almost endless power of Catastrophes, its energy source seemed no worse than the controllable nuclear fusion of his previous life.

What's more, this world even has professions like Catastrophe Messengers; they can sense the arrival of Catastrophes, then use guidance to leave the Catastrophe zone. But Li Lin felt the opposite; shouldn't one rush towards the Catastrophe? Shouldn't this predictable, mighty power be utilized to push human society to its highest peak? Li Lin felt although his former world was ugly and despicable, the brilliance humanity burst forth with in those short decades far exceeded the people of this world.

Prophecies of the apocalypse, longing for the stars, reflection on society, pursuit of science—death chased behind humanity like a wild dog. When humans realized the shortness of their lives, the splendor that burst forth in that instant, the light burned in youth, the poetry that burst with brilliance in every moment—Li Lin felt it was more sacred than every person in this world. Human courage, the reason humanity is called human and not beast, is because humans raised the fire signifying destruction after destruction. The only species in nature that utilizes fire, the only species that knows fire, that is humanity.

So, is avoiding Catastrophes the solution? No, quite the opposite, that is merely the way of beasts. Only knowing how to escape solves nothing. True humans will face Catastrophes head-on, just as ape-men faced the great fire that destroyed all their homes, then bravely walked into the fire field, incorporating the kindling into their lives.

Whether it's Oripathy or Catastrophes, plugging one's ears while stealing a bell (- deceive oneself) achieves nothing.

Only the brave, only 'humanity' can solve all this!

So a qualified site capable of blocking all Catastrophes can only be a place that nurtures Catastrophes, controls Catastrophes. There is no other choice.

Without the awareness of being burned by flames, how can one experience the warmth brought after destruction? A race that only knows the terror of destruction but cannot experience warmth has no future. Li Lin felt that a race capable of forging mobile cities shouldn't be such a short-sighted race. Perhaps someone was already doing it, someone was already researching Oripathy and Catastrophes, but Li Lin still wanted to tell this staff member named Mayer some theories and ideas he had seen in his previous life.

"Without witnessing destruction, how to utilize destruction? Without understanding disaster, how to utilize disaster? You saw that heaven-shaking, earth-moving spectacle, right? Then what if this power is taken into hand? What if all this can be controlled? Know the Catastrophe, utilize the Catastrophe, finally, become the Catastrophe."

"—!"

"Nanomachines, self-repairing electrical current devices, Originium technology, managing AI; although I don't know how many technical hurdles need to be overcome, what I do know is you can imagine such a scene."

Li Lin's voice echoed in the tavern, carrying an inexplicable magnetism and magic. As if every sentence was branded into Mayer's heart.

"In a city of silver, people live happily. And suddenly one day, alarms sound; Catastrophes like meteorites falling from the sky, earthquakes, lightning storms arrive one after another. But the city is alive; it is a self-replicating Catastrophe forged using nanomachines and fluid structures. Its structure absorbs the power of earthquakes amidst tremors, continuously transforms the power of lightning, then predicts the meteorite landing points well, deploying materials and power generation structures accordingly."

"After a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering roar, the city returns to its original state, while the Originium and endless energy brought by the Catastrophe fill every corner of the city. And this living city also utilizes this energy to gradually fly up or flow from the ground, then moves to the next Catastrophe area, continuously absorbing the power of Catastrophes. Finally, one day, their materials have collected to a certain extent, the surface has been covered with silver brilliance. This planet will be filled by artificial creations; all matter on this planet will be utilized by machines. And our mother star, Terra, like a flower blooming in the universe, opens its crust, absorbing the energy of the earth's core and the starry sky."

"Synthetic food, artificial water, after everything can be controlled by humans, we can then leave this god-given cradle. Fully loaded with countless energy and hope, heading towards other planets in the sky. Could there possibly be anything more romantic, more grand than this in this world?"

"Catastrophes, facing nano-swarms, I believe things like Catastrophes, apart from being a source of energy, have no other use."

And I am convinced this can be done.

Looking at the thoroughly shocked Mayer, Li Lin said with absolute certainty.

Similar models already existed in his previous life, even complete plans and related project proposals. It was just because human society didn't have illogical things like Originium technology, leading to difficulties in material science, and with the existence of nuclear fusion and related violent institutions, there was no need to pursue it further.

But in the world of Terra, the people of this world lacked the brilliance of the stars, nor could they grasp this terrifying power. If a physicist had transmigrated, starting with a 200-megaton explosive, forget Catastrophes, it would be impressive if even a speck remained within five hundred kilometers. The damage of a hydrogen bomb has no upper limit. Add a Tokamak device or Stellarator; according to Originium technology, they might instantly reach the stars.

But regrettably, Li Lin wasn't this kind of person. He could only describe some ideas from his previous life to these staff members.

"…Boss, are you the God of Mechanics?"

"No need to praise me like that, everyone else calls me Prophet."

If this could prevent Catastrophes and reach the stars, that would be really great.

Looking at Mayer, flushed with excitement, expression agitated, Li Lin, knowing this line of thought was very likely feasible, also showed a satisfied smile.
