Chapter 21 - The Heavens Are Not Blind

The Mir roared, its body swimming through the air, the rain mirroring its fury. The angry pellets of water drilled into the ground. As clouds gathered above it, like a water serpent, it slithered, its body coiling before launching like a torpedo.

The evil faith it collected, stayed stagnant, gathered in that wall of water threatening to engulf the land.

How vulgar.

It moved like a mindless beast, its habits as an Imugi betraying it, the elegance of a spirit dragon tainted by its origin as an evil serpent.

My eye twitched.

Even now, my nostrils flared.

I could feel my eyes narrowing into thin vertical slits.

My claws clenched emptiness, the air around my fist distorted, while my massive wings tore through the air, the rain sizzling from the heat brewing in my throat. The fire in my breath acting as a repellent for water.

I locked eyes with the Mir. He swung his leg, and water that mimicked a dragon's breath followed. The water droplets around him contorted into a beam of water heading straight for me.

The fire in my throat left, meeting the water. The flames were blue, evaporating the water it passed through.

Its blood-red eyes radiated its hate, while its face curved into a sneer. Its white mane flowed in the winds as it approached me.

[You are no Dragon!] I spoke in draconic as I met him head-on.

"WHY DO YOU DEFY ME?" Its talons clashed with my claws; our collision shattered the trees beneath us.

I grappled with it in the air. [Serpent, you defy the Natural order.] I locked into his blood-red eyes, flames burning in my throat.

I roared, letting the flames hit his face, but a blockade of water prevented it from reaching his body. The current of flames burrowed through, but he drew more power, barely keeping my flames at a standstill.

My sister crashed in from the right, her claws digging into the Mir's side, as he screamed in agony.

Her five heads, wrapped around his body, each taking a bite, [Does this feel familiar, serpent?] Her five heads spoke in unison, as they tore out the pieces and started chewing loudly.

"STOP!" It howled, its voice shrieking as its body attempted to roll over. I held its legs tight, holding it in place.

Her white head charged ice in its breath, freezing the wound and maliciously licking her lips.

Who taught her that?

[Your party member has Leveled Up!]

[Your party member has Leveled Up!]

[You have leveled up!]

I ignored the text and prepared my next attack.

"You!" Its head turned unnaturally, its bones cracking. "YOU!" Its voice trembled. "WHY?" Its snout shook, as its red eyes glowed. My sister chuckled in response, [There are steps, false dragon.] Her tone dripped with hatred.

[And then there are consequences.] Her black head spoke, as its mouth curved upwards. Her red eyes glistening like rubies.

Her blue head snorted, [Of all those that died, in your misbegotten path, how many of them pleaded like you?]

Tiamat's green head continued [ and how many times did you grant it?] Her voice laced with venom. Her murky eyes twinkled as she tilted her head playfully.

Her teeth sank into its flesh. Its voice howling, the wind around us waned, and the rain softened. Its red eyes dimming slightly.

The Mir started to ignore me, focusing all his attention on my sister.

Its lips trembled; its face morphed into a horror-stricken one. A look of realization dawned on him, his eyes that were distant widened, twitching. The Mir's mouth opened, "I can feel it... You..." Its eyes narrowed, and its face tilted. "You are more like me than him." It thrashed about trying to prevent her from eating more of him.

"So..." It struggled to break through, prompting my sister to clamp down once again. "Glorious, magnificent, a chosen one..."It looked at her in confusion, a spark of fervent worship in his gaze. "Why are you doing this? Do you not also worship her?" It cried out. Her main head, the red one, spoke with her golden eyes narrowed.

[I am Nothing Like you] Her pointed eyes looked at him with disdain.

"No." It struggled like a fish caught in a net. "You are a Vile being, just like me." "Your core is rotten. Malevolent, and you reek of 'Her' scent. Beautiful. " Its eyes glistened fanatically as he started to look at her in worship.

[Silence Demon] I grabbed it by the scruff of its beard and sent it downward. Before chasing after it, my claws gripping its head by its mane. I dragged his body along the floor, gliding along the floor before throwing him into a small hill.

With a crack, it smashed through the small hill, its body sprawled along the wall.

It coughed up blood, its body twisting back into place. It heaved, its breath slow and heavy.

I stood before it, my body hovering in the air. I looked at it with disgust.

[She is nothing like you. Abomination.] It looked back at me with clenched teeth, before bursting into a smile, its blood-stained teeth looking at me mockingly. "You're right." It sprang out, not caring about its wounds, and started to wrestle with me.

"I wish I were more like her." It smiled mockingly as the vile faith started to manifest again. The wall of water began to move and condense slowly into a halberd before flying in a straight line into his upper legs.

It pushed off of me with all its might. It's childish effort was laughable, but I was curious, so I let go.

What could this pathetic beast accomplish in its moment of desperation?

It panted, its heavy breath filling the area with fog, "A Mistake." It steadied itself, pounding its chest with its three claws. It raised its head and breathed in all the smog; it raised its leg, the halberd arriving.

The corner of its maw twitched into a sneer, its legs swung with all its might.

I grabbed it with my hand, tossing it to the side with minimal effort, and my face broke into a grin.

[Pathetic] I started to laugh in its face. [Did your meagre victory make you think you were a match for a true dragon?]

Its face morphed into shock, its eyes widening.

I smashed it into the ground, its head creating a crater against the floor. It coughed up blood, painting the green floor red. I gripped its horns and ripped them out.

It screamed out in anguish; tears formed at the edge of its eyes.

"Why?" "Why?" "Why? "Why ME?" It cried as its mouth shook violently. "Was I so wrong?" Its eyes were glossy while it wailed. It spat some blood on the floor before pushing itself up, its white mane stained red.

I pushed it back down with my leg, making its head bow.

I closed my eyes and shook my head.

Wasn't this a bit excessive?

Excessive? What was excessive? My head started to ring, like the time I tried to remember my name.

Wait, what name? Remember?

That was weird, my head started to hurt for no reason.

[Should I rip out your whiskers next?] I tilted my head and pushed his face into the ground further.

Its wails turned silent, before it started to pound on the ground, the area around it cracking.

The Mir's eyes that glistened with tears shifted into ones that glowed with madness, it clenched its teeth.

I really should stop, I could already feel I was tight on time. The energy used to sustain our transformations was running low, yet I wanted to see what it had left.

I loosened my grip and allowed it to believe it broke through.

Its body ascending into the heavens, its mad laughter echoing throughout the sky. The Halberd formed from the malignant faith shook vigorously, cracks forming around it before it burst into pure water.

It coalesced into a tiny water dragon that resembled an Imperial Loong. It wrapped around its body as it continued to laugh.

The Mir's body recovered, the water soaking into its body. His missing parts were becoming full, yet his horns didn't heal.

It rolled its neck, its body covering the night sky, blocking the light. "Don't you know?" Its eyes curved into crescent moons. The smile on its face blossomed into a mocking sneer. "Silver Dragon, I, Eun Yong, am the Lord of Water, and Water beats fire." It smashed its hands together, the air around him transforming into a vortex. His mana started to go into overdrive, while the water dragon that wrapped around him spun into a ball.

My eyebrows furrowed, a small smile playing on my lips as I looked at him with amusement. Had this little mongrel not learned its lesson? Time and time again, my fire superseded his at every step.

[Silver?] I asked my tone dripped with pity.

Its smile faltered, "Are you not a Silver dragon?" Its eyes narrowed. "That can't be..." His eyebrows scrunched up, his eyes focused on my scale. "No..." Its lower lip twitched.

"That's... That's not silver." Its eyes widened, "Five, five heads..." Its face tilted slightly, while its demon eyes widened.

"You, her..." It looked at me with panic in its eyes. "You aren't supposed to be here." It spoke with its mouth open in disbelief, its eyes scrunched up.

"This is wrong," The Mir's eyebrows furrowed. The water dragon got faster. "I have to..."It looked around. "I have to get out of here."

My sister came from the top, bringing him down with her talons, and it crashed back into the crater.

[What is this Idiot talking about?] Her red head spoke with an eyebrow raised.

Her legs held his body down. The water dragon slowed down before it stopped.

"Lady Tiamat... spare me... please...." It managed to choke out, in extreme difficulty. Its eyes were gleaming with fanaticism.

[It knows my name?] Her head's looked at me each with a pointed gaze.

[Don't Look at me] I shook my head. Where had this worm learned of her name?

"Of course-" She pressed on its head. "Apologies... I... am... A... Priest..." It practically purred as it spoke to her, his personality took a 180.

She chuckled as she pressed his face further into the ground. [And why do I care?] Her white head asked, her face stoic like an icy sculpture.

"Your..." It gritted its teeth, as it struggled to speak "Your... Priest." Her heads pulled back in confusion. She turned to look at me, her red head sporting an incredulous gaze.

[This mindless beast has lost its mind.]

[Warning!]

[Gigantication is about to wear out!]

[Quick, kill it now!] In my hubris, I forgot about the limited time we were running on. I spared it no mind no more, the urgency to destroy the abomination in front of my eyes overweighed the desire to learn more.

My breath started to charge, blue flames burning brighter than it had ever before. The mana gathering around my mouth. The air around me sizzled, and the rain that drizzled evaporated around the clearing.

While my sister's five heads simultaneously charged their elements, without hesitation, her colors mended and blended into a pretty swirl of energy.

Before our attacks reached the Mir, our bodies morphed back into their infantile forms, our attacks merely wounding him slightly.

It swam up its body, undulating. Its mouth broke open into a wide grin. "Do not worry, Lady Tiamat, I, the Great Dragon Eun Yong, will kill your eternal rival, Bahamut."

Ah shit.

Before the Mir had a chance to celebrate our misfortune, clouds gathered above him. A thunderstorm was forming above his head. The thunder streaked across the night sky, like an angry song.

And the heavens split open.

The Mir began to look horrified as something seeped out of him. His water serpent becoming a tangible purple mist-like energy. His body began to convulse, his shattered horns bending inward.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME!" His body began to shake, his legs fell off, while his body bulged unnaturally, his demonic eyes closing and opening, returning to their serpent-like base. His whiskers rapidly grew in size before becoming nothing. His scales propped off, all falling onto the ground, "NO!" His mane shriveled up.

The rain that it once commanded disappeared, and a thunderbolt struck it.
