The atmosphere in the chatroom was electric, buzzing with excitement and disbelief as events unfolded on-screen. The revelation that Luffy had purchased a brand-new ship—the Merry Go—for just five beli left everyone stunned. Some were thrilled, others outraged, but all agreed it was an unforgettable moment.
Sengoku: "Damn it! So this is how it ends!!"
Rocks D. Xebec: "Hahaha! Seeing Sengoku like this makes me happier than winning the prize myself!"
Sengoku: "Go away!"
Kuzan: "This isn't good... If we recalculate, our option C of 72.3 million Beli must also be wrong!"
Sakazuki: "We were so close!"
Borsalino: "No worries! I've got this covered. Adding up 60 million and 16 million Beli puts us squarely at option B!"
Usopp: "Amazing! I picked B too!"
Monkey D. Dragon: "Option B totals 79 million Beli, while A is 91.5 million. There's no doubt—it has to be B!"
Emporio Ivankov: "Fantastic! Congratulations, Leader!"
Belo Betty: "I wonder what kind of reward the leader will get~"
Lindberg: "Whatever it is, it'll definitely elevate his strength to another level!"
Monkey D. Luffy: "Usopp got a reward too! That's awesome!"
Nami: "I hope every member of the Straw Hat Pirates gets rewarded!"
Meanwhile, back in the story:
To express their gratitude, Kaya's parents prepared a lavish feast for Luffy, Zoro, and Buggy. Not only did they provide food and supplies, but when Luffy mentioned needing a ship, Kaya's father immediately summoned the family steward, Merry.
"Isn't there a ship currently under construction?" he asked.
"Yes, Master!" replied Merry. "Last month, you ordered an additional vessel for the merchant fleet. I personally designed the Merry Go, and it should be ready within three days."
Kaya's father smiled warmly before asking Merry to bring out the blueprints of the ship. He placed them in front of Luffy, taking the young pirate's hand in his own.
"The Merry Go will be completed in three days, and since you need a ship, it seems fate has brought you two together! How about it? Would you like to buy her?"
"Really? That's great!!" Luffy exclaimed, eyes sparkling with excitement.
After all, who wouldn't prefer a brand-new ship over something secondhand?
"How much does it cost?" Luffy asked confidently, patting his pocket filled with over 20 million Beli from previous bounties.
Kaya's father raised his right hand, extending all five fingers.
"Is that... fifty million Beli?" Luffy guessed, tilting his head.
Seeing this gesture, Buggy frowned. "That price is way too high," he muttered under his breath. Reaching such a number with just five fingers meant it couldn't possibly be anything less than fifty million.
From the design alone, the ship clearly exceeded thirty million Beli in value.
"Alright! Fifty million it is!" Luffy agreed enthusiastically without hesitation.
But Kaya's father burst into laughter. "Oh no, not fifty million! Surely you jest!"
"Then... five million?" Luffy's eyes widened in surprise.
Buggy gaped. "Five million? That's still ridiculously cheap!"
Though baffled by the low price, Buggy reasoned it might be Kaya's father showing gratitude for saving his life. Still, even five million seemed far below market value.
Kaya's father chuckled again. "No, no. It's five Beli!"
"Five Beli?!" Luffy, Zoro, and Buggy exclaimed simultaneously, utterly shocked.
"That's right!" Kaya's father grinned. "For five Beli, the Merry Go is yours if you want it."
"Deal!" Luffy declared, pulling out a shiny five-Beli coin and handing it over without a second thought.
Back in the chatroom:
Cavendish: "What's the point of making him pay five Beli? Why not just give it to him for free? This guy must have some kind of weird obsession with formalities."
Capone Bege: "Yeah, totally unnecessary!"
Gol D. Roger: "No, this is intentional. By having Luffy pay—even if it's just five Beli—the ship becomes truly his. The merchant likely wants Luffy to cherish the vessel as something he earned rather than received as a gift."
Edward Newgate: "Exactly! Gifts always carry strings attached, but buying it outright means the bond between Luffy and the ship belongs solely to him."
Rocks D. Xebec: "Precisely! Even though I've plundered countless treasures, my first pirate ship was one I paid to build myself!"
Meanwhile, Luffy, Zoro, and Buggy decided to make use of the remaining three days by sailing the Black Cat Pirates' captured ship to the nearby Marine Base—Branch 77. Naturally, only Luffy and Zoro went ashore, as Buggy's infamy made it unwise for him to show his face.
When Vice Admiral Pudding Pudding saw the massive haul of pirates being turned in, his jaw nearly hit the floor. He scrambled to fetch the bounty posters to verify the identities of the captured crew.
After careful calculation, he announced proudly, "Thank you both for your heroic actions! The total bounty amount comes to 91.5 million Beli!" He patted the large treasure chest brimming with coins, grinning ear to ear.
WHAT?!
As this scene played out, chaos erupted in the chatroom.
Borsalino: "Wait, what?! Are you kidding me? How did the math go so wrong?!"
Usopp: "Ahhhh! My reward is gone...!!"
Monkey D. Dragon: "Damn it!"
Rocks D. Xebec: "Hahahaha! Talk about irony striking back! You fools celebrated too soon!"
Usopp: "Zoro, what kind of math skills do you have?! You estimated 70+ million Beli worth of pirates as only 60-something million! You misled us all!"
Borsalino: "It's all because of him! His '60 million' threw me off course too!"
Donquixote Doflamingo: "Hold on!!! Does this mean I'm getting the reward?! Fufufu!!"
Tony Tony Chopper: "Wow! Luffy, Usopp, I'm getting a reward too!"
Jyger Lucius Satan Saint: "Never expected my answer to be correct. Interesting turn of events!"
