Chapter 51 - Accelerated Regeneration, Border Town

Tang San had entered the Slaughter City when he reached rank 50. Tang San had hidden weapons and martial skills. Yu Tianming, however, had an indestructible body and powerful passive enhancements. Why should he be any weaker?

Seeing that Yu Tianming remained unmoved, Yu Yuanzhen spoke again, trying to reason with him: "The Slaughter City is filled with fallen soul masters guilty of countless crimes. The hearts of those within are vicious and treacherous. How could you possibly protect yourself in there? Soul skills cannot be used within the Slaughter City—even a Title Douluo would find it difficult to escape."

Yu Tianming smiled with confidence. "My second soul skill has passive sensory capabilities. Dragonization enhances my physical strength. I can also fly to avoid enemies and freely launch attacks imbued with wind, fire, and lightning elements. Even without soul skills, my combat ability wouldn't drop much."

Hearing this, Yu Yuanzhen was momentarily speechless. Still, his face remained stern and he said nothing more—clearly, he remained opposed.

Yu Tianming shook his head helplessly. He deactivated his dragon form and pulled out a mithril dagger, bought at great expense in Gengxin City, from his storage soul tool. Without hesitation, he swung it toward the joint of his pinky finger.

Though Yu Tianming's body was incredibly tough, the dagger, powered by his brute force, sliced cleanly through the joint, cutting off the fingertip along the bone seam.

Yu Yuanzhen's face changed dramatically. He rushed to pick up the severed piece, pained and distraught. "Tianming, must you go to the Slaughter City even if it means harming yourself?"

"I only wanted to prove that I have the strength to enter," Yu Tianming said as he activated his dragon form. Within seconds, the severed pinky visibly regrew before their eyes.

"Your dragon form can enhance regeneration to such an extent?"

Yu Tianming replied, "So, will you allow me to go now?"

Yu Yuanzhen fell into deep thought, and after a long silence, he finally nodded. The two of them left the Star Dou Forest.

As they traveled, Yu Yuanzhen became more reserved, whether from worrying about Yu Tianming's safety or trying to think of ways to dissuade him.

Together, they headed north—leaving the forest, flying past the Kingdom of Silves, and entering the northern regions of the Heaven Dou Empire.

More than half a month later—

The air had grown colder, and the once-lush forests had given way to a withered steppe.

After arriving at a dilapidated town, Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Tianming descended from the icy skies.

Though the town wasn't large, the moment they stepped inside, Yu Tianming felt an eerie atmosphere. There was a faint malice surrounding every person.

Yu Tianming knew—this was the entrance to the Slaughter City.

Upon landing, Yu Yuanzhen led Yu Tianming into a tavern within the town.

The air inside was foul. Yu Tianming noticed all the decorations were black. Though it was daytime outside, the doors and windows were shut tight, and candles were used for lighting, casting an ominous gloom.

The moment he entered, a cold, oppressive aura engulfed him.

The tavern was about 80% full. Despite the number of patrons, few spoke, giving the place an eerie silence.

The sight of the elderly Yu Yuanzhen accompanied by a young boy drew many glances. But most were fleeting and quickly turned away.

Yu Yuanzhen found a spot in a corner and sat down with Yu Tianming.

A server in black clothing with a cold expression approached.

"What'll it be?"

Yu Yuanzhen answered flatly, "One Bloody Mary."

The server's expression changed slightly. "Are you sure?" But under Yu Yuanzhen's imposing gaze, she dared not protest and turned toward the counter.

Moments later, a glass of murky liquid was brought to the table.

The dark red fluid emitted a strong metallic stench—pungent and bloody.

Yu Tianming frowned. He knew this was the blood of the wicked within the Slaughter City. Just imagining it being drained from these people made him feel nauseous.

Seeing his expression, Yu Yuanzhen pushed the drink toward him. "If you want to enter the Slaughter City, you must drink this filthy human blood."

Yu Tianming sneered. "I don't need to drink disgusting things like this to qualify for entry."

Their conversation broke the silence in the tavern, drawing everyone's attention.

Laughter erupted—

"He can't even handle a Bloody Mary, yet he thinks he's qualified to go in?"

"Where'd this rookie come from? Go home, kid—this isn't the place for you."

"An old man and a kid, spouting nonsense in here?"

The air filled with jeers and foul remarks. It seemed the patrons had found an outlet for their suppressed aggression.

Yu Yuanzhen raised his hand and pointed at the hecklers. "Once you enter the Slaughter City, you'll be facing scum ten times worse than these. What then?"

Taking a deep breath, Yu Tianming suppressed his nausea and slowly stood. "Grandfather, let's talk outside."

Yu Yuanzhen was surprised. He didn't remember Yu Tianming being this patient.

But he said nothing and followed him out.

Seeing them leave, the laughter in the tavern died abruptly. The crowd exchanged strange glances, then burst into even louder ridicule.

Yu Tianming ignored it all and silently stepped into the sunlight just outside the tavern.

He looked at Yu Yuanzhen and quietly said, "Everyone in there is filth. Not one of them is innocent. They all deserve to die."

Yu Yuanzhen nodded. "Mercy toward enemies is cruelty toward yourself. If you want to enter the Slaughter City, you must be prepared to turn your blade on everyone. So why hesitate at the gate?"

Yu Tianming slowly raised an arm and extended his index finger with a smile. "Who said I was hesitating?"

Yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black—five terrifying soul rings appeared beneath the feet of the eleven-year-old boy.

As the black soul ring lit up—

A spark of light ignited at his fingertip.

A golden-red fireball rapidly expanded from it, and within seconds, a colossal orb of golden-red light, spanning over a hundred meters in diameter, formed above his head.

Sparks crackled. Flames surged.

From within the town, this fiery orb looked brighter and more searing than the sun.

Blinding light pierced through the wooden tavern walls.

A drunken patron near a window cracked it open and blearily looked outside. "What's going on out there?"

Just as he leaned out to take a look, Yu Tianming smiled and said—

"Fifth Soul Skill: Radiunt Sun."
