Chapter 3 - Ch 3

Apologies for the delay, as I said previously the plant is getting shut down and I was called in everyday for a longer period of time than what my contract says so I haven't had time to write. Will try to get a few chapters made over the next week or so to make it up to the 30 or so people currently reading this. Happy late Easter and I'll have more posted soon.

Also fixed the EMC values I messed up last time, the amount of bread was suppose to be 699,058.92 loafs at $622,162.44

Also asked by no one, I will retype bad translations or untranslated works as Its easier to retype than write xD

"Your house is always mind blowing." I state as I strain my neck looking up at the overhanging arches and dozens of paintings in the main entrance to the apartment house that he lives in.

"You always say that. Is it that amazing?" Rick asks as he looks at me with his head tilted.

"Yes, but you have to remember, I'm still staring at blank white washed walls that are turning a dirty white color. And our paintings are the 10 or so kids who've been adopted in the past year." I state while shoving my hands in my pockets. "Where's your dad by the way? I wanted to thank him for allowing me to hang out."

"He should be either at work or in his office, and you don't need to thank him, he always said I could have friends over." Rick says as he tossed his bag next to the mini coffee table next to the door with shoes around it. "Hey let's go play on my PlayStation and finish up that mission in Diablo 2." Excitement filling his voice.

"Not until you both finish your homework." A soothing voice called out from the kitchen area.

"But mommm." Rick said dejectedly.

"No buts. Now I got a few snacks made and can help you with your math questions." Mrs. Fisk said while walking to the table in the dining room area.

"Thank you Mrs. Fisk, and I already finished mine earlier in class since I wasn't taking a nap." I said while smugly looking at Rick knowing he would get partly scolded later for sleeping in class.

"If only Rick was as good as you Don." She said while shaking her head, "What will we do with him?"

"Don't worry, I'll have Rick work for me when I get older. I'll just ask Mr. Fisk for some start-up capital and open a bakery." 'Though that'll be a front as I sell weapons behind it through his connections.' I state while laughing maniacally behind my smile.

"Thank you Don, but I still want my son to be successful." Mrs. Fisk says while heading back to the table, this time with Rick's backpack.

"He can still be successful; he can run the bakery as I collect profits." I chuckle while they sit at the table. "I am going to go find Mr. Fisk and thank him for inviting me over, and Rick I will go ahead and boot up the game, better be quick with your Homework or else I might beat the level." I state running up the stairs.

"Wait, I'll finish quickly, just don't get too far." Rick yells after me.

Upstairs I slow down and rethink my decision to tell Fisk about my powers. I'm not going to fully indulge that I can create stuff without limits if I have EMC, no I could, no would, get captured and used never to see the sun again. What I should do is state I can do it but with limits, like only a small amount of stuff can be created a day and say that large intakes of food or high calorie food is required, thus why I would do a bakery, what has higher calories than all those baked desserts. The best case scenario for this is that I will not be captured but he might have me start small now or create valuable items, but if I'm able to limit the amount I can profit and quickly get the EMC required to get the Tome of Knowledge, at that point I can get items to keep myself alive and power up.

This should work, I start to pump myself up and go over the plan once more, worst case I could be captured but I could get out though I'd lose Rick as a friend.

I walk down the hallway to Fisk's office and Knock. *Knock Knock*

"Who is it?" I hear a deep voice call behind the door.

"It's Don, Mr. Fisk." I hear some papers shuffle around and a quiet "We will continue this discussion later."

A few moments later the door opened.

"Don my boy, what can I do you for? And where's Rick?" The large almost square man asked me as he took up the double doors frame space.

"Down stairs with Mrs. Fisk doing homework, I finished mine so I came up stairs to play some games and wanted to talk to you real quick." I state trying to appear mature but also childish even to have his guard lowered for a second to see me as a benefit.

"I see, well come in and sit down, we can discuss what you wish to talk about, I just finished some paperwork earlier and could use a small mental break." The square said as he waddled back to behind his desk with neatly stacked papers and folders.

"Thank you Mr. Fisk" I say, following behind him and climbing into the chair before the desk that I can barely see over. I decided to stand in the chair instead as I could at least be eye level with him and use the desk as a flat space for an example. "First I wanted to thank you for letting me visit this afternoon. I appreciate being able to hang out with Rick. The second being this." I state as I look at the nearest desk ornament that he has, which turns out to be a glass orb with bubbles in it. "Mr. Fisk, you know I am a mutant, correct? I assume you do as it states on my file and I am certain you would have asked the orphanage before allowing me to visit and stay"

I see him nod in agreement. "They say you have no powers and–"

"They are wrong." I interrupt, looking him in his eyes. I see a pause and a flash of coldness before looking at me.

"And why is that?" He says as I see the muscles under his suit stiffen and tense while eyes flicker to what I assume is a hidden button or gun under the desk.

"Because I can do this." I state calmly as I reach for the glass orb as non threateningly as possible. Not for a full hand grasp but a poke. I touch the glass and slowly move away as I turn my left hand over in a grasping motion, where a similar if not identical glass orb sits. "I can duplicate anything I touch as long as I have enough energy, that's why I say they are wrong."

A wave of silence hovers over the desk as I see his eyes go from coldness to calculations. I know I have him hooked when he starts to ask me questions.

"Anything?"

"Yes." I start to show off from turning the orb into a candy bar then a sandwich then into a pencil. "Everything has a value of energy that it takes from me, the most I'm able to produce in a day I would assume is worth 100 points, the orb earlier was around 0.002 Emc or Energy Matter Currency as I'm calling it." I smiled as I showed off the few items I turned the glass orb into. I decided to end the demonstration by making the item disappear completely. "I wanted to let you know as I will ask for a loan for a bakery when I grow older, I want to continue to sell things to people but I need money from a legitimate source, and appearing with lots of gold or diamonds will have more questions than a loan from a family friend." I state as I look at him.

"I can see, I appreciate you being honest and sharing this with me." The square smiles as he continues, "I will give you the loan and help as I can, but I do wish you help me with your endeavors of selling to groups of people, as well as your ability to produce items." He leans in more during this next question. "Is there a way to increase how much you can produce?"

'Hook line and sinker.' "Yes." I smile, "The largest thing I have noticed that gives me Energy is loaves of bread, and as long as I produce the full limit of my energy capabilities, the next day I am able to produce a little more." Seeing him nod, I know I caught him.

"So bread loaves could be transformed into gold?" I see his calculated smile appear behind his neutral face asking me.

"Yes, though I've never touched gold so I cant transform the energy into it."

"I see, well Don, I will be sure to give you as much bread as you can consume as well as the loan you need for whatever business opportunity you wish to pursue. Though I wish you would increase the limit of stuff you can make a day." Fisk says as he smiles.

"Aye aye sir!" I snap to a kid like attention. "As long as I have enough bread I can save up and produce items." I smile gleefully as a grin spreads across his face. "That's all I wanted to tell you sir, as I really want to be a businessman or tradesman when I grow up as I can have unlimited stock."

"I agree that it's a perfect job for you and will support you if I have a discount."

"Ill be sure of it, that's all I wanted to say so I will be off to play games with Rick." I state smiling while hopping off the chair. "Ill see you tomorrow Mr. Fisk." I wave back while heading to the door. I see him smiling as I open the door and leave the room. I believe I sold him on my abilities as well as the potential worth of myself if he invests. I should see some changes next time I visit.

~~~
I was right. I think while smiling like a kid in a candy store, seeing the several dozen crates of bread Mr. Fisk had in his garage the next day I came over.
