John raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Old Jaque actually had a title like that?
He narrowed his eyes in amusement. He had never seen Old Jaque act particularly wild or aggressive—just a reclusive old man with a fondness for tinkering and storytelling. Could it be he had lived a double life?
Turning to Kadora, John asked with some confusion, "If they knew this sword belonged to Mad Blade, why would they still dare to come after me?"
Kadora sighed and explained with a grim expression, "If Mad Blade were still alive, people might hesitate. He was once a terrifying force, and many feared him. But years ago, he fought a death match against another famous figure—Frost Blade Tairon. In the end, Mad Blade was slain. It's said that anyone who dies by Tairon's blade risks becoming a vengeful ghost. You'd best be cautious."
John's mouth twitched slightly.
