Taehyung, adjusting his coat.
"I'm on the way."
Where as Kang Hye-jin stepped into the grand office lobby, a large black coat draped elegantly over her shoulders. Her heels echoed faintly as she walked across the marble floor and entered the elevator.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a hand slipped in between the panels elegant, confident fingers pushing the door open effortlessly.
A man stepped in.
Eyes glued to the tablet in his hands.
wearing glasses perched low on his nose, His dark hair fell neatly over his forehead. calm aura… even in his casual attire, he looked unfairly handsome.
Hye-jin's eyes widened.
Yeonjun?!
Her thoughts raced.
Why he is looking so handsome in that glasses.
Wait… Why I am going off the topic? why is he HERE?
No, no I am way too embarrassed to face him after last night's mess…
Okay. I Pretend like nothing happened. It's fine.
She stiffly bowed in greeting, keeping her gaze low.
Yeonjun also gave a distracted bow without looking up, eyes on tablet.
He paused.
At that moment he realized who was standing next to him.
His fingers froze mid-scroll. He switched off his tablet, and a slow, mischievous smile curved his lips like fate had handed him exactly what he'd been waiting for, and he wasn't planning to waste it.
In a low, teasing voice, he said,
"Ms. Hye-jin."
Yeonjun glanced at him and says
"Ms.Hye-jin are you ignoring me?"
"No..No... Not at all I wasn't ignoring you, why would I ignore you" she says quickly, her voice shaking"
"Ahh I almost didn't recognize you," he said, a teasing smile forming. "No wild hair, no shouting, no collapsing into a chair
but I must admit you are really good at drama back then and also now"
Hye-jin's eyes narrowed. "Back then?"
"I just mean… I've seen you sometimes you're are good at drama."
he said with a playful grin.
She raised a brow. "Hmm, so what are you trying to say? That I'm a drama queen?"
Yeonjun chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck like it was all harmless fun.
"You said it, not me."
Yeonjun thoughts inwardly.
Thank God, this time I managed to defend myself. One more word and the truth might've slipped out.
Then, Yeonjun leaned in slowly towards Hye jin ears. He came so close that she could feel his breath against her ears.
"Don't drink that much next time,"
He whispered,
" Cuz I won't always be there to save you out... and trust me, not everyone's as charming as I am."
Just as Hye-jin tried to steady her racing thoughts, the soft chime of the elevator door opening broke the heavy silence. Yeonjun flashed her one last look, his smirk still playful, before he stepped out with an effortless swagger.
"See you around, Ms. Hye-jin," he said, his voice low and teasing, before turning to leave.
The door slid shut behind him with a soft whoosh, and for a moment, Hye-jin remained motionless. Her mind replayed his words, his proximity, that whisper everything was still echoing in her thoughts. Her heart hadn't slowed down.
"Did he just…?"
After the emotional rollercoaster in the elevator, Hye jin finally reached her destination... Sooyaa.
Her footsteps slow down as she spotted her friend sitting at her usual desk in the marketing department, eyes glued to her screen, fingers dancing over the keyboard with focus.
Hye-jin plopped into the chair beside Sooyaa's desk with a dramatic sigh, tossing her phone on the table like she'd just survived a war.
Sooyaa looked up from her screen, amused. "You look like someone who's either about to faint or explode. What happened?"
Hye-jin leaned in, lowering her voice. "He was in the elevator."
Sooyaa blinked. "Who?"
Hye-jin gave her a look. "Yeonjun. Who else?"
Sooyaa's lips curled into a knowing smile. "Ah. And let me guess he said something that made you question every life decision up to this morning?"
Hye-jin groaned, burying her face in her hands. "He whispered in my ear."
"Whoa." Sooyaa leaned back. "That's not what I'm expecting."
Hye-jin snapped, though her cheeks were giving her away. "He said I shouldn't drink so much because he won't always be there to save me out. And then he said... ' and also not everyone's as charming as I am'." She mimicked his voice.
Sooyaa chuckled. "Okay, but… he's not wrong. He's dangerously charming."
Hye-jin scowled. "Stop helping the enemy."
Sooyaa laughed. "You're falling, and I'm just watching it happen in real-time."
"I am not falling," Hye-jin said, almost defensively. "I'm just... annoyed. That's it."
"Annoyed with butterflies in your stomach?" sooyaa said with teasing tone.
Hye-jin threw a pen at her. "Shut up."
Just as Hye-jin was about to throw a crumpled paper at Sooyaa, a voice interrupted the moment. One of the workers from the marketing team, standing in the doorway, cleared his throat.
"Guys, the press conference is about to get started."
Sooyaa immediately straightened up, her attention snapping to her computer screen. "Right on time," she said, clicking a few buttons. The familiar logo of Starx Coffee appeared on the screen, and the video feed began to load but on the screen it was written the conference is yet to start.
Back at the company entrance, Taehyung's black car pulled up.
The doors opened.
All the board members were waiting at the main entrance to welcome him. There were no reporters outside all of them were already inside the conference room. Taehyung walked calmly through the lobby and made his way straight to the conference hall.
As Taehyung entered the conference hall, the large double doors swung open with a dramatic.
