Avery could see the rage on Sloane's face when he entered the room— lips pressed into a thin line, eyes dark with anger and the way he glared at Hunter as though he wanted to eat him alive.
"Oh! Look who decided to finally visit his father." Hunter chuckled, his voice chastising as though he was talking to a rueful son.
"I don't have time for your nonsense Hunter." Sloane said coldly, his eyes fixed on Avery as though he was trying to find any scars on his body.
Avery noticed the way Sloane hadn't denied Hunter's claim of being his father, he had not believed that Hunter was Sloane's father when the man said it, but Sloane had confirmed it with his non denial. Something felt heavy in his chest, the weight of secrets between them— what else was Sloane hiding from him?
"You wound my delicate heart." Hunter placed a hand on his chest, gasping with fake theatrics, Avery cringed at the display— acting had certainly not been Hunter's calling.
