Danso's plan had one gimmick that he knew would work. Using Tensei as a sensor to detect where the angel was, he managed to check if his idea was correct. The theory was that the place where the slime cube is, the main room, is in the direction of the wall the slime cube is on. For example, if the slime cube is on the left wall, the main room will be to the left of that room. Danso explained this to Tensei, and he was intrigued.
"Tensei, this cube is on the floor, so try detecting where the angel is," Danso said.
"Okay," responded Tensei.
Tensei closed his eyes and began to meditate, concentrating on where the Angel's soul energy was. Danso was correct that the Arch-Angel was below them. The reason that Danso came to this solution is because the direction from which the sound was coming was the same as the wall the cube is stuck in place too.
"Are you ready, Tensei?" asked Danso.
"It's in my blood to fight these things. I was born ready," replied Tensei with a tense smile.
"Alright then," said Danso.
Danso ignited his blade, and Tensei transformed into a one-horned demon. His claws were scaly, and the skin was dry. His usual teeth were more pointed, looking like a vampire's teeth. The blue soul energy radiated from his claws, which were mutated from his nails and hands. The difference between the One-Horned and Two-Horned Demon transformation was that the One-Horned Demon had only one horn, and the hands, feet, and face were transformed. In the Two-Horned Demon, every body part transformed into a demon's body, though the soul energy wasn't that of a demon.
Meanwhile, Emily was running and fighting the hordes of slime hybrids by herself while carrying Haruki on her back and running from the Arch-Angel. The Arch-Angel was throwing bombs of soul energy around, causing explosions after explosions to the point where Emily was worried about the stability of the station. Then she realised the slime wouldn't let the station get destroyed since it was its home, so she stopped worrying.
"I can only run forever," thought Emily.
She dropped Haruki and tucked him away in a safe corner of the station, then she ran towards the angel. The Angel dodged her first attack and hit her in the back with a punch infused with soul energy. The Arch-Angel started to give Emily a barrage of punches before kicking her in the stomach, forcing her to cough up blood. Using her playbox, she sent the angel flying and unleashed her blast of soul energy. The Arch-Angel did get hurt, but instantly healed itself.
"The only way to defeat an angel is with demonic soul energy," thought Emily. "And the only one with that here is…"
Suddenly, the Arch-Angel got stabbed in the back with a fiery sword and got clawed on the stomach. The two men threw the Arch-Angel aside and started to walk towards Emily. More slime hybrids appeared, and the Arch-Angel got up, so one man asked the horned man to fight while he saved Emily.
"Am I late, Emily?" asked Danso, offering a hand to get her up.
"No, I could've won without you," responded Emily.
"Is that so? You look pretty roughed up, I am not going to lie," laughed Danso.
Tensei screamed from fifteen meters away while fighting the enemies.
"If you're done catching up, come help me," said Tensei.
"Oh, look at you crying for help," trolled Danso.
"Shut up, it's called asking bird-brains," replied Tensei.
"Fine, I'll accept your cries for help," said Danso while walking away from Emily.
Emily tried to get up, but Danso pushed her back down with a slight push on the shoulder.
"You're injured, Me and Tensei will handle this," said Danso reassuringly with a smile.
While Danso walked towards Tensei beating a few slime hybrids with just a slash of his sword that was burning as bright as the sun yet not as bright as his eyes and slime while talking to Tensei in the middle of the fight, Emily got reminded of Chiro in Danso, the way that Danso pushed her down to rest was the same way that Chiro did when she was pushing herself too hard to be stronger.
"That idiot telling me what to do," muttered Emily with a slight blush, and then just sat there on the ground.
Meanwhile, Danso and Tensei were fighting the slimes with ease as the Arch-Angel hid behind all of them, healing slowly. Since the attack was by a demon, the scar would take more time to heal than usual. Danso and Tensei eventually defeated all the slimes to leave only the Arch-Angel left. The Arch-Angel tried using invisibility to hide, yet Tensei could sense it and attack it with ease. It was obvious that the only reason they would win today was because of Tensei. Without him, there would be no real counter to any of the Angel's regeneration or attacks. Danso picked Tensei up and threw him towards the Arch-Angel. Tensei clawed through the Angel and crushed some bones. The Angel shrieked in pain.
Suddenly, the Angel started glowing brighter and brighter. Danso and Tensei flinched at the brightness and covered their eyes with their hands. The Angel let out a huge roar before erasing the light. The orb on top of its head went into a socket near its heart. The ring on top of its head turned black along with the clothes and wings.
"This is like a second stage in a video game," said Danso.
"Yeah, it looks stronger than before," stated Tensei.
"That is obvious," replied Danso.
The Arch-Angel rushed towards Danso. It was as fast as the speed of light. The Angel seemed like it was teleporting to different places, and Danso failed to catch up. His reflexes were too slow, and he suffered a blow straight to the gut. Danso flew back and started gasping for air. Emily went towards him and tried to use first aid to heal him.
"I wish Chiro were here right now," said Danso.
"You cannot expect Chiro to save you every time like a prince saving the princess," said Emily before Danso got up and went back to the fight.
Tensei took one attack and retaliated with one more claw attack. The Angel defended against it with ease and threw him away. Tensei was now getting tense.
"I might need to use the Second Horn Transformation now…I can't fight this thing, nor can I kill it," said Tensei.
Danso put his hand on Tensei's shoulder.
"Don't resort to that just yet. Fight with me for some time, if that doesn't work, then I have a backup idea," said Danso.
"Alright, bird-brains," said Tensei, pushing Danso's hand off his shoulder.
Danso fired his sword up one more time, this time heating the flames so much that the red flames turned into blazing light blue flames. Tensei transformed into a 1.5 Horn Transformation of sorts, not fully transforming into the Second Horn, yet transforming more than the One-Horned Transformation. The difference was clear: the soul energy amounts were increased, and the scaly skin of Tensei was much harder.
Tensei and Danso ran towards the Angel as the Angel stared at them with blank eyes, reading their every move. Tensei grabbed the Angel's wings, and Danso stabbed the Angel. Then, Tensei threw the Angel onto the ground, and Danso had a barrage of attacks on it. The Angel easily managed to block and heal all the damage and fight back, and slapped Tensei, sending him flying to a nearby wall while Danso got flung back by the flapping of the Angel's wings, creating a strong wind current.
"Danso!" screamed Tensei. "I think it's time to use that master plan of yours."
After a few seconds, there was still no reply. Tensei yelled again, "Danso?". Emily was there and stood up.
"I'll help you fight, don't worry,"
"But you're injured," replied Tensei.
"It's fine, I was made for moments like this," said Emily.
Emily charged up an attack and blasted it towards the Angel. The Angel got hurt and flew back. Tensei used this opening to attack the Angel repeatedly, clawing through its flesh. Emily summoned another soul blast from above the Angel, and the Angel coughed up blood.
"Great! We just might win," thought Emily.
She was wrong. The Angel got back up and started rampaging across the station. Tensei got hit by an uppercut, and the injured Emily got hurt in the legs. When all hope seemed lost, a familiar voice was heard in the corridors.
"I am back!" said Danso with a crown on his head.
Emily stalled the Arch-Angel by summoning barriers on its path.
"What is that on your head?" asked Tensei.
"Just wait and watch," said Danso.
Danso lifted his index finger and screamed in a loud voice. The crown started to glow.
"All Soul Slimes, listen to me, I am your king now. I am the Ruler of the Soul Slimes now," said Danso with a large grin on his face.
