Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Arrival Of Power Rain

10,000kb? That was way too much!

Another shocking piece of news was... the Temporal Storage Space was at Level 0!

Taking a deep breath, Ivy left the forest. As much as her heart wanted to put the entire mountain in her space, the brutal reality was, she couldn't collect 10,000 kb in just 10 minutes or an hour.

Soon, Ivy reached the Jeep, where everyone was waiting for her. Maybe Silas had warned his teammates, hence none of them asked about the animal meat they had hunted or why Ivy was late to arrive.

The journey back to the Skyline residence was a tiring one. Everyone fell asleep except for Silas as he continued to drive back to the residential area.

Though he was tired and even felt strangely sleepy for some reason, Silas tried his best to be wide awake.

The silver lining was, they hardly met any zombies.

Reaching the Skyline residential area, Silas woke up Henry, Amelia, and Chloe.

"Have we reached? Ha... I feel so sleepy." Henry muttered as he rubbed his eyes with one hand and looked outside.

Amelia blinked forcefully to keep herself from falling asleep, while Chloe yawned.

Silas's eyes narrowed, seeing their similar but peculiar condition. At first, he thought he was tired and hence felt so sleepy, but now... he started to second-guess everything.

Rumble...

Rumble...

The sound of thunderbolt echoed in the surrounding area, and Henry's eyes widened,

"Silas looks like Ivy was telling the truth! It is about to rain!"

Silas had vaguely told them of Ivy's prediction, and Henry had scoffed, saying Ivy was lying; however, Silas's confidence in Ivy forced Henry to shut his mouth.

'Thank god, I didn't run my mouth too much. Otherwise, this face slap would have hurt a lot!' He thought.

With just one trip, his impression of Ivy had taken a flip of 180 degrees. Though he can't ignore Ivy's flaws, he was ready to give her a second chance.

Silas softly called out,

"Ivy, wake up. We have reached."

Ivy opened her eyes with difficulty. Her head felt heavy, pressing her temple, she asked,

"Where... where do I have to place the hunted animals? I... I might fall unconscious... take me to the warehouse..."

Silas worriedly checked Ivy's temperature. Her body was slightly hot... and she looked drugged...

"No need to take everything easy..." He began, however he was cut off mid-sentence as Ivy raised her hand and shook her head with great force,

"No! I... need to.. They..."

....................................

Silas brought Ivy to the warehouse. Their step was slow and sluggish.

Ivy knew that half of it was because of the hard work they had done yesterday, and half of it was because of the Power Rain.

Reaching the warehouse, Ivy placed all the hunted animals in the warehouse with a wave of her hand and almost collapsed on the ground.

Silas moved quickly and was about to hug Ivy, but Ivy stepped back, creating distance between them.

The light in Silas's eyes dimmed a bit before he suggested,

"Why don't you stay in my apartment? The Ravencroft family..."

Ivy paused before nodding. She wanted to protect Silas by staying in the shadows, however... She looked at Silas.

He will need her help during Power Rain.

Unaware of the information in Ivy's head, they reached Silas's apartment. Once inside, Silas offered,

"Would you like to eat noodles?"

Ivy nervously looked at the familiar apartment, and her heart was leaping with joy.

It had been almost a decade since she had returned here.

Hearing Silas's question, Ivy shook her head,

"No, I am full..."

Growl.

Ivy: (⸝⸝⸝O﹏ O⸝⸝⸝)

Silas stared at Ivy's beautiful face, which was now flushed. A healthy shade of pink suspiciously crept her cheeks, and with her soft pink hair tied in a high loose ponytail, she looked like a peach...

"Just wait," Silas said, his eyes softened as he chuckled and walked past Ivy.

Ivy couldn't prevent the faint itch in her heart and retorted,

"It wasn't me."

Silas paused, a glint flashed in his eyes as he nodded,

"It wasn't you."

His voice was filled with conviction, making Ivy feel oddly relieved, only for her relief to vanish when Silas continued,

"Just a few mice playing tag or chase."

Ivy: "..." It wasn't me! He isn't talking about me.

After Silas made a bowl of spicy noodles, Ivy tried her best to eat it elegantly. She did... but it was too delicious!

Compared to the compressed biscuits she had eaten for a decade... these noodles were heaven!

"Eat slowly. The food is not running away." Silas chuckled as he watched Ivy's chopsticks move faster than a bicycle's speed.

Ivy nodded while she dedicated her attention to the noodles.

After finishing, Ivy patted her stomach with a satisfied expression. Silas was amused by her reaction and started to clear the table.

The sound of rain caused Silas to turn and look toward the window in surprise.

Bam.

Silas watched in confusion as Ivy remorsefully stepped back after knocking him out.

Everything happened too fast for Silas to understand.

Before his eyes closed, he only had one question,

'Are you going to betray me this time too?'
