Could it be that the group responsible for the fire on the first night had finally revealed themselves?

"I don't know, but about ten of the pilgrims suddenly summoned their weapons and started killing the others. I think they, like us, aren't native to the tower."
"Stop them until I get there." Daniel nodded, then left Azrak to watch over the demons and flew off toward the pilgrims.
The killings weren't happening in just one area, so it wasn't something he could resolve quickly.
He rose into the air and immediately activated his spiritual senses. From above, he could see everything.
