I felt the light wash over me and I met myself with others back at the usual place, but this time there seemed to be a commotion among the players.
What's going on? I thought only to find Gabriel being assaulted by some alien freak. The rage built inside me like an erupting volcano.
"I am not the one on the brink of death. You see something... no one can help you because if they do they will end up just like you... a punching bag!" I heard the freak say as I held my fist tight.
"You sure about that because the boy has people that will mop the floor with you!" I responded in a murdering tone, making the freak turn around to see who said that when he spotted a bloodlust looking at me. I then charged at him and delivered a deadly energy emitting jew breaking blow at him, sending him flying away leaving everyone surprised at the sudden increase in human strength.
Gabriel assaulter who goes by the name Mason spat blood from his mouth after the punch I gave him. Mason groaned as he watched players whispering and gossiping. He felt humiliated, disgrace. He stood up again, fist tightened, teeth gritting like chainsaw.
"You will pay for that, peasant!" He threatened before leaving with his minions.
The moment he was gone I breathed a sigh of relief and helped Gabriel up.
"Are you alright?" I asked even though I can see with my own eyes he just received some serious beating.
"It would have been worse if you guys hadn't shown up in time." He said. He glanced around, reading our body language and expression, sensing something was wrong.
"Where's Reecer?" He asked but none of us could bear answering. Our faces had the answer and he gasped when the message was clear.
"No. No. No. It can't be!" He said, covering his mouth in shock and trying to hold back the tear that was about to flood as he took some steps backwards.
It was raining heavily, thunder clapping and flashing on lightning traveling from one corner of the dark cloud to another. A woman was in labor delivering her baby. She stretched when the midwives ordered her to push. The moment was intense and terrifying.
Push!
They told her for the last time and when she does, it was a baby cried erupted,it was so loud that it overwhelmed the sound of the rain thunderstorm.
"It's a girl!"
The woman sighed in pain and joy hearing the soft care of her new born child.
"The second one is coming!" One of the midwives alert and the woman eyes wide in shock and surprise. She can do this. She can do this and she pushed like before. The baby refused at first but on the third push, the baby was delivered.
The twins were delivered safely. A boy and a girl. The woman cuddled her babies and smiles happily. The husband and father entered the room shortly when he was called in by the midwives. He rushed to his wife. His joy was beyond explained.
"Aren't they special?" She muttered, staring at the babies.
"Yes they are, my love. Yes they are." The husband replied, kissing his wife's head with tendency.
The babies; Reece and Reecer, grew over the years. At their very young age they were known as terror children because of their mischievous and chaotic behavior. They were being reported to by people, their parents scolded them but the children seemed like they can't live a day without causing trouble. Although they are troubles, their people still love them. Since their father was a good and important man.
In a cold and freezing weather, a bird diving above the big forest, nearly covered with snow. The forest was snow white and the bird finally landed on top of one of the trees, cooing.
It was quite and peaceful for a while before some figures ran pass through the forest, scaring away the resting bird. Shortly another figures ran through leaving footprint as they followed the former.
Momentarily, teenage Pashina, Reecer and Reece emerged from their hideout, looking around with absolute conscience. It was like they were hunting for something or... someone.
The suddenly swiftly thrown dagger which was heading towards Pashina was taken down by Reecer. Their opponents, two male and a female. Both teams were armed with a training weapon.
Reecer's team wore blue while the other team wore red training armor.
"Reecer, why is your team trying so hard acting strong? Your team is the remaining, giving us a hard time for us to win," the girl from the opposite team whined . She began generating spikes, popping out beneath her skin. "Don't worry, we will make you lose real quick," she added and winked before they charged at Reecer's team. The boy from the opposing team - one was emitting fire from his whole body and the other grew fangs, claws and wings like a bat.
"Powers aren't allowed in the training field! It's against the rule. "Reecer reminded the opponent while they were battling.
"Sorry girl, but we don't play by the rules," the girl responded.
The teams continued exchanging punches and blows for a while. While Reecer's team restrained themselves from using their abilities as it was against the rule, the opponent team didn't bother striking with their powers which was giving them the upper hand in the battle.
"Just give up already. You don't have to make it longer than it should." The spike girl persisted, attacking Reecer relentlessly, her spikes flying around like fire work. Reecer managed to dodge and keep up with her speed, but some spikes made some cut on her training armor. When Reecer had enough of the spike girl pushing her around and dominating the battle, she gritted in frustration.
"F®¢k this!" She exclaimed and broke the rule that was holding them back. Reecer unleashed her tentacles on the girl, the sucker sticking to the spike girl's exposed body before throwing her to a nearby tree. A little smile escaped Reecer's mouth as she watched the other girl standing up from the snow.
"Gross, what do you think you're doing?" the girl yelped in disgust.
"Sorry to you girl but I'm also not playing by the rules anymore." Reecer replied.
The girl was unexpectedly wrapped in the tentacles again, this time Reecer didn't let go of her even when she was getting hurt by the spikes that were slowly coming from the girl's body. Reecer immobilized her, preventing any silly movement and began squeezing the girl so hard. She tried to break free but the grip was unyielding and shortly after the girl slumped forward defected. Reecer released her and the spike girl collapsed to the floor.
When the girl was down, the remaining unconscious bodies of her teammates were dumped next to her as Reecer's team stood victorious.
"Weldon everyone," she said. "We made a pretty good team... as always."
One day after a success of mischief in town. The siblings found somewhere to rest their butt. They were by the hill very close to town, watching the town below. It was an impressive view from the hill side.
"I want to travel the galaxy... explore the stars , to infinity and beyond," Reece said, glancing at the sky watching the stars dance in their glorious beauty.
"Hmm, you sound like Pashina."
"Maybe I've grown to understand him more. If I get to know culture and practices outside our domain, the knowledge will be of great benefit if I want to run politics because I'd be one step ahead of everyone."
Reecer bursted into laughter after hearing this, she tried to keep it down but she couldn't help herself. She found the idea of her brother running politics absurd.
"What's so funny? Will I be a bad leader?" He asked when Reecer wouldn't keep quiet with her laughter.
"I'm sorry, you took me by surprise. I can't even imagine it."
"Maybe I might not be all wissy goody leader but I can't do better. I mean everyone has their own selfish agenda and motive."
"I agree with that. But Can you even tolerate people? I know you more than anyone and you are good at ignoring people's thoughts and forcing yours on them."
"I'd have changed before that time. And I might consider putting people's priority above mine only if you are by my side," he said, facing his sister who was mute for a moment. She then smiled a little before responding.
"Don't worry brother, I will always be by your side. Always. I promise."
PRESENT…
Reece sat by one corner alone in his moody self. He was overwhelmed with thinking and the recent loss of Reecer.
"You promised you will always be by my side, sister," he murmured as tears flooded his eyes." And it is all my fault you couldn't stand by me as promised... What will I do without you?" He burst into tears.
His comrade noticed him and went to counsel him. Assuring him that he was not alone, he still had them even if Reecer was not around anymore.
"We might not fill the vacuum Reecer left in you,but we will try our best as a family." Steven said solemnly.
