Chapter 73: Wang Baole: Master, I Want to Learn Cooking!

Night fell.

Chu Feng was holding a tome titled The Sacred Book of Cooking and reading it carefully.

After speaking with the little fatty today, his first reaction was to have the boy start by learning how to cook.

After all, cooking was a profound discipline, with knife skills and all aspects requiring technique.

So he went to the Miscellaneous Dao Institute's library to search for relevant books.

After all, in his previous life, he had read too few novels where chefs were the main characters.

The book in his hand was left behind by a semi-saint senior of the Miscellaneous Dao Institute.

Before cultivating, this book was just a cookbook to him.

Back then, he would simply follow the recipes—no, the classic—and could already produce heaps of delicious dishes.

But now, with several hundred years of cultivation backing him, this book appeared to him as a legacy of the Dao of Cooking.

And it was a semi-saint legacy, considered above average within the Miscellaneous Dao Institute.

By the time he finished reading the book, it was already midnight.

But Chu Feng already had a rough direction in mind. With this semi-saint legacy plus knowledge from his past life, he could refine this legacy further.

After all, the title "semi-saint legacy" wasn't flashy enough—it wouldn't be enough to impress people.

Thinking of this, Chu Feng picked up a brush and began writing on paper.

By the time he finished, the sky was already starting to brighten.

Looking at the content he had just written, he felt his cooking skills had taken yet another step forward.

He had the sudden urge to head to the kitchen and try it out right away.

As for the name of this legacy—

After pondering for a while, he wrote four large characters at the beginning of the page: Immortal Chef of Ice and Fire.

Perfect!

Chu Feng set down his brush and lay on the bed to sleep.

That sleep lasted all the way to the afternoon. When he woke up, he didn't even know what day it was.

Chu Feng washed his face to wake himself up before stepping out of his room.

As soon as he opened the door, he caught the scent of delicious food wafting through the air.

Qin Qin, seeing her master getting up so unusually late, asked with a worried expression, "Master, did something happen?"

Chu Feng smiled and said, "It's nothing. I just got inspired, stayed up reading until midnight, and ended up jotting down some insights and thoughts."

With that, he walked over to the stone table and sat down to eat.

After eating and drinking his fill, Wang Baole, as usual, began tidying up.

Normally, Chu Feng would have left by now.

But today, he remained seated at the stone table, waiting quietly.

A moment later, Wang Baole walked up to Chu Feng with a grin.

"Master, I want to learn how to cook."

Chu Feng smiled and asked, "You really mean it?"

"Mm."

Wang Baole nodded. "I actually really enjoy cooking, because it's the most direct path to delicious food."

Chu Feng chuckled. "That's true. Every foodie eventually becomes a kitchen warrior."

"So, Master, does that mean you'll teach me to cook?" Wang Baole asked, full of anticipation.

"No."

Chu Feng replied, "I intend to pass on to you the supreme Dao of Cooking!"

???

Wang Baole stared blankly at Chu Feng, confused.

Even Qin Qin froze in her tracks. She knew her master was a master of many arts, but cooking and the Dao of Cooking were two entirely different things.

Chu Feng laughed and said, "What? You think the Dao of Cooking can't make one powerful?"

Wang Baole shook his head, then nodded. "If someone else said that, I wouldn't believe it. But if Master says it's possible, then it definitely is."

"You're quite the smooth talker."

Chu Feng stood up and said, "Today, I'll open your eyes to something new."

Qin Qin quickly chimed in, "Master, may I see it too?"

"Sure."

Chu Feng hadn't expected the little girl to be this curious, so he brought the two of them to his room.

After entering, he casually grabbed the stack of paper in his hand.

Qin Qin stared at the familiar pages, her eyes wide in shock—Master was actually serious.

"Our Miscellaneous Dao Academy may have declined now, but in history, there once appeared a Saint who mastered a hundred arts."

Chu Feng paused at this point, then continued, "But there was one exception—when it comes to cooking, only a single semi-saint ever emerged."

Wang Baole listened with a nervous heart, unsure of what to say, and could only stare anxiously at his master.

"Now…"

Chu Feng's gaze fell on Wang Baole. "The responsibility of completing the legacy of the Saint of a Hundred Arts now falls to you."

"Huh?"

Wang Baole was stunned. "Master, can I really do it?"

Chu Feng looked deadly serious. "Baole, remember this well—no real man ever says he can't."

Wang Baole was taken aback by the sudden seriousness of his master and stared blankly at him.

"Last night, I studied the semi-saint's legacy and combined it with my own understanding of culinary arts to craft this cultivation method just for you."

With that, Chu Feng handed the manual to Wang Baole.

Wang Baole took the pages as if they were a treasure, handling them with extreme care. The first thing he saw was the title: Immortal Chef of Ice and Fire.

He immediately began reading the content beneath it with great focus.

Chu Feng said, "Take this cultivation method home and read it. If you don't understand something, come back and ask. Five days from now, I'll take you into the kitchen myself."

Wang Baole exclaimed with joy, "Thank you, Master!"

Qin Qin didn't say much, but Chu Feng saw right through her thoughts.

"If you want to study the semi-saint's culinary legacy, go look for it in the library."

"Mm."

Qin Qin nodded slightly. In her heart, she was already planning to check out the semi-saint's legacy after finishing her cultivation tomorrow.

Not for anything else, just to learn how to make more delicious dishes.

Wang Baole returned to his courtyard with the Immortal Chef of Ice and Fire manual written by his master.

After washing up, he studied it carefully by candlelight.

As a foodie, he was immediately captivated by the content.

The foundational method of Ice and Fire Magic Chef was simply the common Five Elements Technique.

But some of the techniques and knife skills described within were far from ordinary.

Most importantly, practicing these techniques didn't require anything dangerous—he could just use ingredients to train.

By the time Wang Baole felt drowsy, it was already early morning. He reluctantly set the manual aside and murmured, "Master is truly amazing—he's actually managed to integrate cultivation perfectly into the culinary arts."

"I must work hard and become a great chef—no, a Culinary Saint—to prove the Dao of Cooking!"

Five days passed in a flash.

That day, Chu Feng got up unusually early, all for the sake of taking Wang Baole into the kitchen.

"Good morning, Master."

Wang Baole looked surprised when he saw his master already in the kitchen.

Chu Feng said, "Mm. Since you're here, let's begin. Every chef starts out as an apprentice. As for your cultivation, just practice the Five Elements Technique. Today's first lesson—I will teach you knife skills."

Wang Baole nodded rapidly like a pecking chick, his eyes full of anticipation as he looked at Chu Feng…
