Lyra's POV
My mind snapped at his growl—that loud, nerve-wracking growl that drills fear into the spine of anyone who hears it. For the first time in lifetimes—it sent cold shivers jarring through me. I dropped back, shuddering in fear, my body slapping against the metal body of the bathtub—no sloppy or splashy sound of water around me.
My eyes flickered around the bathtub then, seeing the water leaking out of a large crack in the nearly rusting metal skin of the bathtub. The crack was so long and wide, the water slipped fast, flowing freely to the stone floor, leaving me with blocks of ice stinging my butt.
