A.N.= This might be the most controversial chapter I have written, but just know that I am not caring about what's right, or how to satify everyone, I know won't ever be satisfied, the only thing I can do is make my story as better as possible. But you have read so far so you're probably used to me right? Just know I love you! And I want you to feel something after reading my chapters.
"You look like the extra chromosome that slipped past the condom the one time your dad finally got it up."
Leor mocked Marino with a grin, his laughter ringing across the open field.
Hundreds of people—young children, women, men—everyone in the village called Vexely, stripped naked, sat in the center of the rubble of their houses, their expressions filled with horror and despair.
"Please sir, we don't know what we did, please try to understand that we are normal humans, we are not devil worshipers… please…" Marino spoke through a clenched jaw, completely ignoring what Leor had said, holding his trembling daughter tightly by wrapping both arms around her.
The mayor of Vexely had long been killed. Most men here were farmers and traders—but all were cowards. If they could run away with their families now, they would gladly abandon everything. But that was just wishful thinking.
From the expression of that young boy, it was obvious he had made up his mind long ago—no matter what they said, they would be killed.
But there was no way he would just give up. Not when the last thing that mattered to him—the last memory of his late wife, his daughter—was going to die.
"Johan Von Matilda died here. You buried him right next to where you buried your wife and father. It basically screams that you have a connection with him." Leor spread his arms in a shrug, his tone nonchalant.
"...Leor, I really don't see anything wrong with them. Maybe… they're innocent after all…" A white-haired girl, about the same age as Leor, spoke through trembling lips, her heart clenching in horror as she realized why Johan had brought her here.
She tightly held two lifeless heads—Johan's handsome face, incredibly pale and bloody, and Sebastian's, with his mouth still wide open, like he was frozen in shock.
She felt thousands of thoughts and emotions rush through her—satisfaction, sadness, hatred, hollowness, and… confusion.
'No, Leor told me strong women don't feel emotions… I will eventually be able to suppress them… just endure…' She repeated the words she'd been clinging to since morning, and took a deep breath.
"You don't trust me, Selene?" Leor's voice dropped dangerously low, sending shivers through even the youngest of the crowd. Some of the babies began to cry.
"...I do. I trust you the most, but please…" Her lips trembled as she looked down at the people crawling on the ground, twitching, entirely naked, trying their hardest to hide their genitals from the younger ones. Embarrassed, but like her, they also… endured.
Marino's heart grew heavy as he remembered the appearance of the fierce, beautiful woman who once stood beside the man he respected the most—the man who had saved his home.
'He is a Devil worshiper!? Are you fucking kidding me? Even though he seemed cynical at first glance, his actions were what spoke the most… if someone really was the Devil, that could only be that red-haired monster.'
Marino's hug tightened around his daughter, who was now completely unconscious—probably from fear. She was only eight, after all.
'Hahaha, his instincts are sharp!' Leor laughed inwardly. The person who worships power eventually starts worshipping Devils—like Radhaan in the future.
He was still reading Marino's thoughts, and this was the final hammer to seal Marino's, and Vexely's, fate.
Leor's logic was simple: Johan had built trust and respect with these people. Eventually, when everyone pieced together these little things, they would start creating problems.
He wasn't naïve enough to believe it would stay hidden. And even though these NPCs could never be a threat to him, he followed the ideology of—
"Crush your enemies completely." Something he learned back home.
Selene's expression darkened. She could also tell what Leor was thinking—not from some special ability, but from the sharp eyes that had clearly noticed how much her crush had changed in just a few days.
At first, in her heart, she felt that he always said the things she wanted to hear. Always the perfect words. But now, it was clear—he wasn't even trying to hide his true self anymore.
Her grip tightened around the heads of Johan and Sebastian. Kirin's body was just ashes now. This time, she didn't just cry.
She made a decision in her mind.
She suppressed all her thoughts instantly.
Yesterday, when they were making love, Leor had perfectly found out which part turned her on the most—and touched or licked it at the perfect timing.
Once or twice, it could've been a coincidence—or even a sign that their understanding was strong—but it happened every time. Even in conversations. When she began to worry about something, even in the back of her mind, Leor presented the solution.
This was enough for her to deduce—he had mind-reading abilities.
"Leor, why don't you just go back to His Majesty? He wanted to talk to you about the recent terrorist attack, and how we are going to retaliate." She said calmly, her face blank, revealing no emotion.
Leor's eyes squinted. Selene immediately realized—
"Don't worry. I'll take care of them." She smiled a smile that didn't suit her face—a kind of smile that Johan Von Matilda would've given.
Leor's eyes widened, but then he smirked, her thoughts playing clearly in his mind—
'I want to kill everyone my love considers a threat. I will win his trust. I will be reliable. I don't wanna be useless and make him abandon me. He is so handsome, muscular, strong that he could even seduce the Goddess herself. He is just so perfect…'
Leor's breathing grew ragged, his chest puffed with satisfaction. A genuine smile appeared on his face. 'Yes! Yes! I broke her! I can do anything! I am the main character. I am God!'
"Alright, I trust you." His smile softened even more. He leaned in for a kiss.
Selene gave in, letting him suck on her warm tongue, breathing softly. Some of the saliva fell on the bloody heads of Sebastian and Johan.
She broke the kiss and said, "You go now," with a soft smile, as she pulled out a bright white sword with a dark pink hilt.
Leor frowned slightly in dissatisfaction at how fast it ended—but he smiled. It was a good day. His enemy was dead. Selene was finally his. He was soon going to become a God.
Everything was going just like he had planned.
Suddenly—
His muscles clenched, blue veins appearing all over his body. He took a deep breath and a step toward the direction of the Monarch's Palace.
He instantly disappeared, leaving Selene completely alone with the fearful crowd.
A high-level usage of Schrödinger's Cat. He chose to experience the reality in which he wanted to be—at the royal palace—and took action: a step.
Selene sighed, her knees still shaking as she tried to calm herself.
Marino stared at the shining sword. It reflected the bright sunlight, piercing his eyes.
"I won't let you kill them!!" With that, Marino leapt forward, his expression fierce.
Selene frowned but simply raised a finger, annoyed by the antics of the stupid man.
But—
He didn't attack. Instead, he pulled out a white-skinned woman's foot… and ate it?
Nom. Chomp. Nom.
He quickly ate and swallowed the foot down to the bone. Everyone in the crowd—his neighbors and others—just stared in complete horror, as if they were statues.
Selene's pupils contracted as she sensed how violent Marino's aura was growing. But this should've been impossible. It was obvious he didn't have a single drop of Aether to possess an aura this fierce. Still, she didn't have time to think—
"Haaaaa!!" Marino yelled, charging at an extremely fast speed—completely invisible to Selene's naked eyes.
Selene suppressed her bewilderment and took a deep breath. "Baby Doll. Eleventh Form: Dual Worlds!!"
She immediately used her most powerful ability, unwilling to take any chances. If she started fighting here, it would waste too much time—and probably even raise Leor's suspicions.
Whooshhh!
Not even a second passed, but—
The rowdy crowd, including the advancing Marino—disappeared—
Like they never existed.
Dust flew as Selene fell to her knees. She took a deep breath but tasted blood on her tongue and instantly coughed it out.
Marino opened his eyes slowly, feeling the heavy weight on his body, like he was being crushed.
His mind had gone completely blank when he ate the part of that woman. He saw how much power Johan had gained after the arm, so the foot he found in the mud, he saved it, exactly for if something like that happened again.
But he couldn't even form a thought, completely opposite to Johan, but here, he felt… normal.
He looked up, and only saw endless blue sand—as far as his eyes could see.
He looked around, locating his daughter in his arms, she was also wearing clothes now.
Then he turned, everyone in the village, his friends, and many faces he recognized were completely fine, the bruises not bleeding anymore, also wearing clothes.
"Just stay here quietly, I can only send food once a day, so save it well…" a voice rang from everywhere, like every particle of the sand, every molecule in the air was speaking at the same time.
Marino's eyes widened, he picked up his daughter with a hug, and looked around—
A mountain of food, and a lot of construction material—that you could build an entire city.
Selene's presence disappeared as soon as it had appeared, but it didn't matter now, they were completely safe there, because she was the God there.
She layed down her belly tasting the dust on the sandy ground, breathing rough, as long as she has Aether for the task, she can create anything there.
'And… not even Leor himself couldn't hurt me if I hid there…' a smile appeared on her pale face, quickly thinking of a plan.
But she was wrong about one thing, but it made sense since she didn't know… what giving her affection so many times to Leor had done.
