James looked at the counter ticking down.
(38..37..36..35..)
'Hmm.. I guess I should go ahead and place these stat points while I'm thinking about it.'
He brought up his character sheet after dumping everything into strength. Well, except those two annoying points.

James felt a qualitative change in his strength as he held his dagger. The +7 to strength had him at a total of 50. He felt as if he could pick up the collapsed portion of the wall and put it back in place on his own.
He then inspected his knife because he remembered that it was giving him another stat bonus.

[Item: Ripsaw] [Rarity: Epic] [Type: Weapon]
Description: Grants user +7 strength, +13 dexterity and enchanted with passive skill [Bloodletting (Level 10)]
Durability: 4994/5000 (+3000 from bone salt infusion)
———————————————————
His speed hadn't changed with the +13 dexterity, but his reaction time was faster than ever. Dexterity wasn't one of the main five attributes, but James could tell it was just as important.
Focusing on the passive skill, he finally saw why the goblins leaked blood like water fountains when he cut them.
[Skill: Bloodletting (Level 10)]
Description: Targets struck by this passive skill have a major chance to get inflicted with the negative effect- Bleeding and a minor chance to receive- Gaping Wounds.
Effect activation chance: Bleeding 50%, Gaping Wounds 10% (Level 10)
'This is a pretty nasty weapon.. I'm glad I'm not the one being attacked by it…'
Justine's voice shook him out of his thoughts.
"Get ready, next wave incoming!"
James saw the counter tick down it's last few seconds.
(5..4..3..2..1)
(Wave 3 Level 15: 200/200)
He kept himself back from using another acid vial, these goblins would only have 20 more stat points than the last wave.
He couldn't justify the use of them when the last goblins were so weak.
While James had been messing around with his character sheet, Justine and Susan had piled the goblin corpses into the collapsed section of the wall.
This had slowed down the third horde enough to where it was even easier to beat than the last one.
He had killed only 49 this time, Susan was an absolute monster and moved like a wrecking ball against the small green creatures.
(980 exp gained)
(2230/16000 to level 12)
'I hope I can get another level before we finish… I might have to ask Susan to slow down.'
(Wave 3 complete)
(Wave 4 starting in)
(120..119..118..117..116)
This time, James helped the women in stacking the bodies. James had a spark of inspiration and took two acid vials out of his inventory.
'I hope this works the way I think it will.'
There was still a minute left till the next wave began so he asked what Emily and Veronica were doing.
"Veronica is keeping a watch on the rest of the town, it doesn't happen often but sometimes hordes will break off and attack an unguarded section of the wall. She's up there to notify us if that happens. Emily is doing the same thing, but keeping close to the civilians in case any monsters get past us. Civilians don't fight back in these dungeons, so one level 5 goblin could kill them all if given the chance."
James nodded to her explanation.
The three stopped talking and got ready once more.
(5..4..3..2..1)
(Wave 4 Level 20: 200/200)
They couldn't see the horde spawn in the distance with the bodies blocking the view, but the rumbling vibrations in the ground let them know what was coming.
A smile came to James face as screams of pain entered his ears and notifications appeared in his view.
When the bodies of wave 2 had been stacked up, James saw that the goblins had been forced to bunch up at the base as the first ones crawled over.
He placed his vials of acid at the top so that they would fall down on the mass of bodies when they were disturbed.
He had scored it big this time. 78 goblins had perished with his improvised trap. It also seemed that the exp was starting pick up as the goblins started to almost double his level.
(2730 exp gained)
(4960/16000 to level 12)
(Skill: Deadly Traps (Level 1) gained)
(Deadly Traps is now level 4)
[Skill: Deadly Traps (Level 4)]
Description: Traps you place with intent to kill are more effective and harder to disarm.
Bonus skill damage: 20% (Level 4)
James grinned evily as he read his new skill.
Killing the goblins wasn't as easy as before when the remaining 122 rushed over they're dead companions. Though, James and his party still hadn't faced any real danger. He had done the math and he had over 50 more stat points at level 11 than the goblins did at level 20.
He did have to dodge here and there because the goblins had been equipped with more than just stone axes this time. Flimsy bows had been poorly aimed with even worse arrows. Only one shot had even came close to hitting him.
He had managed to reap another 21 goblins from this horde and James felt quite proud of himself.
(735 exp gained)
(5695/16000 to level 12)
(Wave 4 complete)
(Wave 5 starting in)
(300..299..298..297..)
This time they had 5 minutes to prepare.
Susan looked serious and spoke a warning.
"Prince James, be careful next wave. There'll be a qualitative change to the monsters and it won't be as easy as it has been so far. You can already see from this horde that it just won't be goblins with crude weapons, their gear will get better with each wave and soon there will be other monsters mixed in as shock troops."
She then turned to Justine.
"Hold off on using your buffs till the next wave, I'm confident we can do without them for wave 5. We'll probably have to call Emily or Veronica over however."
James and his slave nodded to the words of wisdom from the veteran fighter.
'Looks like the real fun is just beginning..'
