Chapter 25 - Planning Dimensional Travel and The End of the Year

Hazel stood over a vast map. If she had used a table she would probably need three large tables to hold it. She had it manifested before her as a three dimensional model. There were seven great bubbles. Some overlapped, some touched, and one or two stood alone. Within these bubbles were galaxies. It was a dimensional map and Hazel could zoom it in or out as she wanted, she could focus it on one planet within a specific solar system or she could have it as it was and look at the dimensions as a whole.

She was really looking at spaces between dimensions and the Dark Zone where many travelers became lost. But she didn't tell her friends that. For them they were planning the dimensional trip that Hazel, Evervine, and Marcel would be taking with Hazel's father observing.

"We can choose three right?"

Evervine rolled her eyes but before she could say anything Marcel laughed and spoke again. "Yes, yes. She already said it. I know. I know." Evervine smiled and returned her attention to the dimensional map.

"I vote for En, Sala, and Ank. In that order."

Marcel frowned. "Why En. It is supposed to be the most boring dimension ever." He quickly looked to Harry and the others. "No offense."

Hermione pursed her lips and shook her head then she looked to Hazel. "Have you been to all seven."

Hazel nodded. "Yes. But don't let that slip to my parents please." Everyone nodded in agreement. "Ank, En, and, Sala. That will be fine. I will plan the trip and talk to dad. We will probably go tomorrow or the day after, knowing my dad." She looked to Harry. "Have you figured out hoe to get into the chamber of secrets?"

"No. And things are getting bad at school. They are now saying it was Hagrid."

"that silly book said it too. That may have been Riddle's plan. She paused then looked wide eyed ay her brother. "I think that Tom Riddle is the heir to Slytherin. Have you tried speaking to open the door to the Chamber?"

Everyone was made speechless for a long moment, trying to digest Hazel's words.

"Speak? No. But what…" Harry's eyes opened wide. "We will try it."

"But speak in parseltongue."

The door slowly materialized. It was a heavy tall dark wood door. Evervine, Marcel, Hazel, then Montague McGonagall walked out of it. Montague was smiling broadly. His daughter had opened a large dimensional door unique to her with ease. She had opened it into En and it was her birth dimension but it was still a huge accomplishment.

"This is En? You're right Hazel it feels very similar to Tan but here I can taste the chemicals in the air."

"That is what happens when you keep magic from the mundane populace. I would really love to collect some herbs unique to En."

"Of course. Evervine did you still wish to meet my mother? We will be staying at my house."

Evervine's eyes lit up but she didn't say anything. Hazel just nodded in understanding.

Sala dimension was probably the strangest of the seven known. It was a gaseous dimension. All the usable stars were gas giants and every planet had an atmosphere that was of some sort of gaseous blend. They were on the fifth planet of the most populated solar system. The beings here were similar to fish and they seemed to swim through the gaseous atmosphere. They weren't actually swimming. They were levitating and then moving themselves with a type of blink ability. They were related to fish but they had left that evolutionary line eons ago.

They bodies were generally flat and they came in different shapes and lengths. They did not have fins but they did have translucent scales that showed their skin underneath which was generally blue, grey, or black. They spoke telepathically and most of their incantations, spells, and potions dealt with mental magics. They loved things of the mind and they could sense when someone was related to or could manipulate fate.

A large black wooden door appeared in a desolate area of this planet and as soon as it opened all of the nearest Trainlians immediately began moving towards it.

The group moved from the dimensional door encased in a large bubble. Hazel spoke first.

"They have already sensed me. They are on their way to us now." Her father nodded. Another large smile on his face.

"Can we take a sample of the atmosphere?" Hazel looked at Marcel for a long moment and then she created a bubble outside there and then it blinked and was before Marcel.

She looked to Evervine. "You still want a crandellia?" she nodded vigorously.

"If we have time."

"Don't worry. The Trainlians swarm but they are very respectful and polite."

Montague's Smile broadened some more.

Their final visit was to the dimension of Ank. Ank was similar to En and Tan except most of its habitable planets were water planets with a few being a combination of land and water. A shimmering door of light appeared and opened up over a vast blue-green area of open water. A transparent path spanned outwards from the door. The travelers all stepped from the door and onto the path.

Hazel's father was giddy with excitement. She had completed the assignment perfectly and she even made considerations for her clients. He would have her certification completed when he got back, even before he showed the board of travelers her recordings. The humans in Ank Dimension knew of the other dimensions but they chose not to socialize with outsiders. Only wizards were that foolish. So no one came bolting towards them.

Back on the dreamscape everything was silent. Harry and Ron had just told everyone that Hermione had been petrified and Ginny had disappeared. The mandrake was still too young and Harry and Ron had not gone down into the Chamber of Secrets yet. Hazel sighed.

"I will go into the Chamber of Secrets with you."

Harry opened and closed his mouth several times before he gave up and nodded.

"Let's go now. Especially since you don't know where Ginny is."

An ordinary brown door opened in the second floor hall of Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hazel stepped out of it one by one.

"Let's go get Professor Lockhart first."

Hazel looked at Ron incredulously. "Why?! You yourself say he is a fraud."

"But he is an adult fraud. He may be able to help."

Hazel continued looking at Ron thinking he was only joking and would break down in laughter at any moment. It never happened.

She sighed in resignation and indicated that the boys should lead the way. She waited outside the defense against the dark arts classroom. Soon they were at the door with wands trained on Professor Lockhart. Hazel looked questioningly but shook her. She didn't want to know.

Harry asked Hazel to secure Lockhart. She frowned for a moment again but she did as she was asked. Bright red ribbons of magic spring to life from no where to wrap around his wrist and magically stitch his mouth shut.

They silently walked to the second floor girl's restroom. Hazel entered first and Myrtle flew to her friend with a smile. Hazel looked up and smiled at her as well. Then she became serious.

"Go into your stall Myrtle we are going down into the Chamber of Secrets." Myrtle's eyes opened wide and she retreated into her toilet stall.

Hazel looked at Harry expectantly. He shrugged. "I don't know what to say."

Hazel frowned. "At this point who cares what you say just use parseltongue."

Professor Lockhart's eyes went wide as Harry said something in parseltongue. The bank of sinks shuddered and then lowered reveling a tube. Hazel looked to Professor Lockhart and smiled. He shook his head and Harry and Ron moved in on him with their wands raise.

"Come professor hurry now or I will use a levitation incantation and send you down head first." He quickly scrambled the shoot and jumped down. The slide was incredibly fast and he wanted to scream but his mouth was magically sown shut.

Harry and Ron followed just as fast and Hazel gently floated and touched the ground on toe point. He wand was up and lighting the tunnel. She looked at Professor Lockhart with a warning and he stiffened and she turned back to the tunnel.

"Well let's go then." Hazel was just across the next arch way, Harry close behind when they heard Ron yell. They both looked around to see Professor Lockhart try to use Ron's wand and have a tremendous backfire and hit the ceiling to come crashing back to the floor.

Hazel used a spell and pulled Harry to her and Ron away. She lit the corridor coughing and sputtering.

"Ron!? Ron!?"

"I'm fine. How are you guys?"

"We're okay."

Hazel sighed and rolled her eyes. "And Professor Lockhart?"

"He is okay. Just…"

Hazel nodded but Harry asked. "Just what?"

"He doesn't remember who he is."

Hazel shrugged at Harry's wide eyed expression. "Stay there. Shyla will go and get my mom." Starlight bloomed from her shoulder and disappeared into the rock.

Hazel and Harry went forward until they came to an open area. Hazel sucked in a breath and ran forward. Harry saw what, or rather who she was running to and followed quickly.

Hazel frowned as she looked at Jinny. Harry's eyes were on a book. Hazel looked at it. "We need to destroy that. I think it's draining Jinny's life force."

"You are absolutely right. Aren't you a smart one?"

Hazel exhaled deeply and brought Jinny to her. She did another levitation incantation and took Jinny to a far corner. She looked back to see her brother talking to Tom Riddle. Hazel saw the Basilisk first and she called a warning to Harry as she blinded the serpent in one eye and then dodged as Jinny's body seemed to want to fade from existence.

Hazel used two body strengthening charms on Jinny and she heard Tom Riddle yell out in pain. She saw Harry with the book and he looked at her as if asking what to do. She shrugged and thought for a moment. "Stab it with your wand. You both essentially have the same wand, it may work."

And it did. But it didn't stop the Basilisk. Harry blinded its other eye and led it out of the chamber.

After sometime Shyla was back and hovering over Hazel. Jinny woke up and they heard the Basilisk returning but they saw Harry first. Hazel went to help her brother and Fawkes suddenly appeared, dropped a hat to Harry and then flew to hover near Shyla.

Needless to say Hazel was in trouble and the rest you know.
