"RAAGH!" Garan roared as he swooped down, twisting his body midair to dodge a powerful swipe from the dragon's massive claws.

The beast's strike tore through the air just inches from him, but Garan was already moving—his body low as he lunged forward with both arms wide.

With a thunderous crack, his claws sank deep into one of the dragon's legs, tearing through its hardened black scales.
A gush of thick, black blood spilled out from the wound, spraying across the air as the beast let out a piercing screech.
The dragon flailed, its wings flapping violently as it tried to shake him off.
*Flap! *Flap! *Flap!
Its massive body lifted off the ground, flying upward at a steep angle.
The wind roared around Garan's ears, and still, he held on tightly, claws digging in deeper, anchoring him in place.
The dragon soared high, climbing higher and higher into the sky, trying to reach a height that would make Garan lose grip.
