Nick had been worried about Nuir, but he had still needed to sleep himself and still went to bed instead of just staying up and doing nothing. He wanted to check Nuir when he woke up, so he naturally looked for him on the couch where he had left him last night.
He wasn't there.
Nick looked in the kitchen. He wasn't there.
The lawn and porch were empty. The toilet…? Unoccupied.
Nick frowned.
"Nuir!" He called out. Maybe Nuir was just hiding in a corner or around the corner.
He didn't get an answer. He was about to take another lap around the house when the tetnacle grabbed his shoulder and pointed at three things.
She pointed at Nuir's spot on the couch. She pointed at the picture of a cat in the magazine. Lastly, she pointed at the front door.
Nick's frown deepened.
Nuir's spot on the sofa meant Nuir. The cat meant the Midnight Panther. The front door meant out.
The combination of the three could mean multiple things.
