"Clarisse, I'll be back in a few minutes."
"What…? Where are you going, Zeth?"
"Ah, I… To check on Seth's condition. He was pretty badly injured when I brought him… You know, we faced Mystra, and both of us got hurt."
Clarisse, evidently, believed my words. My amputated arm is proof enough to back up what I said.
"Don't take too long, okay?"
Clarisse's eyes gleamed with sadness, like those of an abandoned puppy.
I sighed and said goodbye with a slight nod. But the truth is, I wasn't going to check on Seth.
I slipped through the crowd in the village and, without anyone noticing, ventured into the forest of nightmares.
After walking for a good while, a silhouette appeared in my field of vision. She was sitting on a large rock, swinging her legs back and forth, like a bored child waiting for something.
"Oh, hi. You arrived on time."
