I walk out to get some fresh air, the cool wind running across my face.
"Sigh..."
I still have no idea how I got here damn it...what should I do? Hopefully Asahi doesn't think to much of my reaction to him. Hopefully.
"..hm? Cherry blossoms?"
I catch a petal from the sky, it's so bright and pink. Hmm. I crawl underneath a bush and look up to see a beautiful blossom tree, full of life and colour...
"Almost like..."
I quickly shake my head, no! I mustn't think about it. I run my fingers across the bark.
"Seems so young...the tree I mean. Maybe 70 years or so."
I pause. I have so many questions...how did I get here? Is this simply a flash back to his life before? How come he's managed to live for so long? Who is he really? And most importantly...who am I? I pause, taking those questions in.
"...Lumi, that's my name...or rather was my name. Funny, I don't remember being named Lumi..."
Hold on. I don't even remember having parents...or siblings...to be completely honest all my memories from my past were of Asahi and...and...why can't I remember?! This hurts my brain.
I rub my forehead, this is getting way too deep. I shouldn't fuss over things I'll never get the answers to, it will explode my brain.
"Oh- I just realised I left Xiao Ling alone"
I quickly hurry back to the hall. I walk in with a huff and notice her.
"Ah! There you are Yua Mei!"
She says skipping over to me.
"We're have you been? I have something super dooper important to tell you!"
She shakes her arms up and down to emphasize on 'super important'.
"Uh, sure-"
She grabs my hand and run to the corner of the room whilst gigging happily. Why do I have a feeling I know what this is about?
"So, so. I was able to pour Alcohol for lord Zenri Li! And, and! He smiles at me and called my hair pretty!"
Knew it. But I guess that's good for her.
"Really? That's great, thought he wasn't lying about your hair. I told you it's pretty"
She fiddle's with a stand of her hair whilst smiling happily.
"Yeah... I'm so happy."
She looks up at me with a bright, thankful smile.
"Thank you so much Yue Mei"
I sigh with a soft smile.
"I didn't do much you know, but no problem. You know, you should smile like that more often, it reminds me of a squirrel"
She blushes.
"Really? Do I really look cute when I smile"
She thinks for a moment before nodding to herself.
"Yeah, I'll do that. I wonder if the master likes squirrels..."
She giggles.
"Well, I'm super happy! I don't think I'll sleep much tonight hehe."
I sigh and look up in gratitude whilst holding my hands together, a tear in my eye.
"I'm so glad we get to sleep in"
She looks at me with an unamused expression.
"Sleep again huh? If all you do is sleep you'll never live life to it's fullest you silly duck!"
I look back at her, unamused.
"Silly duck? Really? Honestly you're such a kid."
I pat her head with a playful grin. And she groans slapping my hand away.
"I'm not a kid! I'm a mature young woman! And I'm super attractive too"
She says with a wink.
"Yeah keep dreaming"
I shake my head, She huffs.
"Yeah like you're one to talk about that!"
I look away, she has a decent point.
"See! I told you!"
I groan in defeat. We continue arguing until the event finishes, we help clean up and then head to servant chambers along with the other servants.
"Goodnight Yue Mei!"
Xiao Ling waves with a smile and then runs to her room.
"That girl...how does she have so much energy?"
I enter my room and slump on my bed, slipping my shoes off.
"...so tired..."
And just as fast as I lay down, I doze off...
