CHAPTER 31
Ted returned to Alice and Butler Jones with a shake of his head. They were standing outside the hospital door. "Still no sign of her. And honestly, we're going in circles. We're not gonna find her like this. It's been nearly half an hour. We need to take this further."
Butler Jones sighed. His gaze swept the crowded sidewalk near the entrance of the parking lot. "Further, how? I can't exactly pull in Sir Kael's men. Not after what he said."
Alice paced anxiously. Her short black hair was in pigtails, and she clutched her bag closely to her side. Her voice was rising with every word. "This is insane. She chased a snatcher—that's the last anyone saw her! Who even does that? What if she ran into trouble?" She stopped in front of the two men, looking up at them. "What if someone grabbed her?"
Jones remained quiet.
