Almost the moment the words left my mouth, Neru ground his teeth together hard. His eyes went small and sharp, glaring down at me as he practically spat his next words out, full of force.

"Father, are you sure that's a good idea? He's only just started his training! I worry he can't reach the level you want... at least, not yet." Even though he was burning with anger and felt it was unfair, Neru knew he had to be careful. He could feel his father's cold stare on him.

Like it or not, his younger brother, me, was the favorite. And Neru had to face another truth, one he hated: Tsuki was going to be much, much stronger than him. He'd seen proof himself.

My Dream magic was growing scarily fast. My sword skills were getting better and better. Neru was already finding it hard to match my strength when we sparred. The thought made his stomach twist. He was already thinking about his future, wanting to be the Lord of the house. If Tsuki became his enemy... he didn't like thinking about how that might end. Neru forced his anger down, trying to look less upset.

"Are you doubting my choice?" Doku, our father, spoke coldly. His voice was flat, like he was talking to a stranger, not his own son. "Or maybe you don't think Tsuki is a good enough choice? You seem to forget he's almost as strong as you already."

Neru quickly lowered his head, his hands clenching slightly at his sides. "N-No, father, it's not like that at all! I promise, I respect your choice. I just... I just thought maybe Tsuki should be pushed even harder, you know? To show everyone how strong the Satanachia family really is." He tried to make his voice sound loyal.

My father nodded slowly, seeming to agree. Neru let out a quiet breath, looking both relieved he hadn't made things worse and still angry underneath. In a weird way, he'd just helped me. Now I might get to learn some new skills.

Father turned his cool eyes towards me. "My youngest? Will you come with me to the event?"

I met his gaze, then bowed my head respectfully. "It would be my honor."

Lucifaad

The Capital city of the Underworld felt ancient, like the oldest cities humans ever built. Its huge buildings made you feel small and amazed as you walked the streets. Giant, sharp peaks rose high above, where the powerful families lived, looking down on everything. Below, busy shops filled the streets, keeping the city alive. You could even see merchants from far-off places selling their goods.

It was really something to see.

But even with the amazing city all around, and the strange, bright green sky hanging overhead, almost everyone was looking at one person.

Me.

My long black hair moved softly in the breeze. My face, smooth and almost too perfect, made the men nearby feel a mix of things – surprise, maybe even jealousy. The women felt their hearts beat a little faster. My calm, uncaring look and sharp eyebrows just made me seem even more striking. My pale skin seemed to glow a little in the light. Many women suddenly felt like they couldn't compare.

How could a boy look better than them?

Whether I knew it or not, my family and the maids back home were used to how I looked. But the normal devils here? They weren't used to seeing someone like me, someone from a powerful family. So, the city was buzzing. People started whispering, guessing who this strange, beautiful boy could be.

While all this happened, I just walked through the city, not bothered. My eyes scanned the paper in my hand. It seemed I needed a proper suit for the event. And because our family had to look good, I was sent to get one made just for me.

For a second, I thought it might be a trick by my father. Or maybe he just wanted to show me off before the event started?

I didn't know. And I didn't really care much.

I was just annoyed that I had to come myself. Couldn't the maids just bring my measurements? This was taking up time I could be using to get stronger, practice my skills.

[A little break is good for your head, you know.]

'That might be true if I didn't have Gamer's Mind,' I thought back. A little picture of someone shrugging appeared in the box. I felt a small headache starting and rubbed the side of my head. Great, the System was learning new tricks.

But besides wasting my time, there was one other small problem…

Suddenly, I felt a hand quickly sneak under my shirt, trying to reach the pocket where people usually keep money. Before the hand could find anything, I grabbed it. My hand closed tight around the thief's wrist. I looked sideways at the young man.

He looked a bit older than me – I could see the start of a beard on his face. He clearly wanted some easy money. But bad luck for him, all my real money was safe in my inventory space, and I only kept a little bit of cash in my Dream Storage.

"Ah! S-sorry, my mistake," the young man said, trying to sound innocent, even though he'd just tried to rob me. He tried to pull his hand back, but found he couldn't move it at all.

"No harm done," I said, putting on a small smile. But my dark eyes stared hard into his, like sharp points. Sweat started popping out on his forehead and rolling down his neck. He looked scared.

Even as the young man later rubbed his sore wrist, he would never know just how close he came to dying right there on the street.

[Aww~ I almost got to see a killing!]

I ignored the comment and kept following the directions on the paper. Soon, I stood in front of a shop. Just looking at the outside, it reminded me of those super fancy stores that try hard to look expensive and pull in rich customers.

Everest Sewing.

Well, at least the name was a little different. I walked inside, getting ready for whatever came next.

.....

Ever since I came to this world, I realized I'd sort of forgotten what it felt like to just be in a store. Now, I saw rows and rows of finished suits hanging neatly, all while I was standing still, being measured.

I closed my eyes, trying to make the time pass faster. Soon, I wished I hadn't.

Standing on a little raised step, I let out a quiet sigh. My brown hair felt a bit messy. I was getting really annoyed just standing here. Seriously, why did it take over an hour just to take some simple measurements?

"Aww, is it really that hard just to stand still for a bit?" a girl's teasing voice said nearby. She had reddish-brown hair and a smug look on her face. Her teasing made me sigh again. I was clearly tired of her games.
