"Brother Rin, goodbye."
Little Klar waved reluctantly as she followed the Revolutionary Army crew back to their ship.
Seeing this, Rin smiled and waved in return. "Klar, goodbye."
The two parties parted ways.
...
With Klar's departure, the Pandora Pirates returned to their usual rhythm.
Daily life aboard the ship returned to normal: reading, eating, and everyone minding their own business. Rin and Artoria lay together under a beach umbrella, sipping drinks and chatting idly relaxed and comfortable.
But before long
Casa's voice broke the quiet. "Captain, we've arrived."
"Hm?" At the sound, Rin sat up and walked to the ship's railing. Sure enough, a sea covered in thick black fog lay ahead.
"We've finally reached the Florian Triangle."
A sharp grin curled on Rin's lips. "Full speed ahead enter."
"Yes, Captain."
Casa nodded and, without hesitation, guided the ship directly into the infamous fog-covered waters of the Triangle.
The Florian Triangle is vast and treacherous.
As for Gecko Moria's base technically not an island, but the colossal ship known as Thriller Bark, which originated from the West Blue it served as Moria's headquarters.
From here, Moria relentlessly captured pirates who entered the fog.
Using the powers of the Kage Kage no Mi, he extracted their shadows and transferred them into corpses, creating an army of obedient zombies.
His aim? To build a monstrous undead legion and return to the New World to one day take revenge on Kaido of the Four Emperors.
However, in Rin's view, such a plan was laughable. Against a monster like Kaido, numbers meant nothing. Only those on an equal level of power could truly harm him.
And considering Kaido's near-immortal physique
Even three or four people of Rin's level might not be able to bring him down.
After all, Kaido is the man with the highest suicide count in all of One Piece.
As the Pandora Pirates navigated deeper into the fog, they soon caught sight of Thriller Bark.
The massive ship appeared as a dark island silhouette, and its enormous gate resembled a gaping monster's maw.
Just as they neared the entrance
"Hmph."
Rin's expression darkened. A flash of killing intent surged from his eyes. Without a word, he appeared beside Artoria.
In one swift motion
His hand reached behind her and seized something in midair.
The figure materialized.
It was a man with animalistic features specifically, a humanoid leopard in a suit.
It was Absalom, one of Gecko Moria's top officers and the wielder of the Suke Suke no Mi (Clear-Clear Fruit). A notorious voyeur, his invisibility ability often lent itself to perverse intentions.
As soon as he boarded the Pandora, Rin's Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) sensed him instantly.
Remembering what this creep tried with Nami and Robin in the original timeline, Rin had no doubt Absalom had similar intentions toward Artoria now.
The result? Instant and absolute rage.
"Wha—How can you see me?!" Absalom gasped, stunned as Rin's grip tightened on his throat.
"You dare sneak up on my woman?" Rin's voice was low and dangerous. "You filthy beast."
Anilu and Casa stood silently by, eyes locked on Absalom.
Both were Haki users as well and like Rin, they had sensed the predator the moment he approached.
Though Absalom's invisibility was tricky for the average person, Kenbunshoku Haki made it useless.
"L-Let me go! I serve Lord Moriah, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea! If you kill me, he'll hunt you down!" Absalom choked out, gasping under Rin's crushing grip.
Rin just sneered.
"Gecko Moria? Trash."
Without pause
Rin's right hand clenched.
A sickening crack echoed.
Absalom's neck snapped, his eyes wide in disbelief even in death.
With no ceremony, Rin tossed the corpse overboard into the dark waters of the Triangle.
"Rin…"
Artoria stepped closer, frowning slightly.
Though she lacked Haki, she'd felt a presence behind her moments earlier just before Rin moved. Her eyes were filled with curiosity more than fear.
Rin met her gaze, understood the unspoken question, and answered calmly. "That guy's a voyeur."
At those words
Artoria's eyes narrowed in icy fury, instantly understanding.
Rin waved his hand. "No point staying here. Anchor the ship. We're heading in."
"Roger that, Boss."
Anilu nodded, biting into an apple, while Casa responded with a firm "Aye."
The four disembarked and stepped into the shadowed expanse of Thriller Bark.
The thick fog and dim light gave the land an eerie aura—daylight seemed to vanish entirely. It felt like a true haunted island.
But Rin and his crew weren't fazed.
Without hesitation, they began heading toward the heart of the island.
Along the way
The ground trembled, and one after another, zombies burst up from the earth.
But before they could act
Zzzt!
A lightning bolt crashed from the sky, paralyzing them instantly.
Anilu exhaled casually, brushing off his coat and munching his apple as the group pressed onward.
...
Meanwhile
Deep within Thriller Bark's main castle, in a dimly lit room
A strangely dressed girl was panicking.
"What do I do, what do I do?! Another Warlord-level guy just arrived! Should I wake up Lord Moria?! But he'll be mad if I disturb his nap!"
"Ugh, whatever I'll run for it!"
The girl, of course, was Perona, the Gothic-lolita styled subordinate of Gecko Moria.
Wielder of the Horo Horo no Mi, the Ghost-Ghost Fruit.
It had to be said her power was strange and wildly frustrating.
Her Negative Hollows, ghost-like entities that fly through people, could instantly reduce even the most hardened warrior into a whimpering pessimist. And worst of all—it was nearly indefensible.
The most annoying ability by far.
