Tyler's POV
He started walking toward me, and for a moment, the rest of the room blurred. My brain short-circuited. That man was disgustingly, unfairly handsome. The way the light hit his face made his features glow soft, warm, like a candlelight you just wanted to reach out and touch. Those whisky-brown eyes didn't just look at me; they looked through me, down to my skin, past my ribs, deep into the mush I called a heart.
His lips moved slowly, as if savoring every word before they even came out.
Then he snapped his fingers. Reality slammed back into me.
"When are your friend and girlfriend coming?"
I blinked. "Oh, uh... they're on their way."
He nodded once, then turned to walk off.
And just like that, I nearly collapsed.
I had to move. I had to get away before I shattered in front of him. My knees were jelly, my chest tight. That was the man I was attracted to. That was the man I am attracted to.
And it hit me like a truck: my boss had warned me.
