Shadows in the Hallway
Dan-Bi moved swiftly through the corridors, mask discarded.
The Queen had summoned him—but he knew better.
This was no simple invitation.
This was a hunt.
And he was the prey.
But what he didn't expect—
Was the sound of footsteps behind him.
Dan-Bi turned sharply—
And there he was.
Seong-Jin.
Still wearing his mask.
Still watching him with that unreadable gaze.
"You're following me now, Your Highness?" Dan-Bi murmured.
Seong-Jin leaned against the pillar. "Should I not?"
Dan-Bi narrowed his eyes.
He was wasting time.
And yet—
He knew Seong-Jin was too perceptive to let this go.
"Turn back." Dan-Bi's voice was firm. "You do not belong here."
Seong-Jin exhaled a soft chuckle.
"Neither do you."
Dan-Bi's fingers curled into a fist.
This was not the time.
But before he could turn away—
Seong-Jin stepped closer.
Close enough for Dan-Bi to see his jaw tighten.
"You're hiding something," Seong-Jin murmured. "I will find out what it is."
Dan-Bi's heartbeat stuttered.
But he forced himself to smirk.
"And when you do, Your Highness…"
He stepped past him.
"…What then?"
Seong-Jin did not answer.
But Dan-Bi felt his stare linger long after he disappeared into the night.
