Chapter 76 - Stronger enemy

"Are you okay, honey?" Enis ran over to heal me, and my body instantly recovered. "Thanks, Enis. Please heal those two warriors over there as well; they were once my comrades," I said to her. "Alright," she replied, shooting two beams of light toward Emily and Judo. Their wounds healed instantly. "What's this? I thought I was dead," Judo said, standing up. "Kaia? Where's Kaia?" Emily, just waking up, looked around frantically. "You've pissed me off, and this won't end easily!" Emperor Ba roared at the Blood Demon. "Hmph, don't think you're the only one who's improved over these thousands of years. Thanks to Batian banishing me to the human realm, where humans are as plentiful as insects, I've been feeding on their blood for millennia. My power has risen several realms!" the Blood Demon boasted, recalling the past. Without another word, Emperor Ba charged forward, and the two clashed swords.

"Why has Kaia become like this?" Emily, distraught, wanted to rush over to wake him. "Don't go! Enis can't keep reviving you like a potion," I shouted, stopping her. "Thanks for saving me earlier, brother!" Judo came over to express his gratitude. "No need to thank me; I'm sorry I couldn't do more," I replied. "I've heard tales of mysterious incidents across human nations over thousands of years, where people were drained of blood. They were recorded, but the culprit was never caught. I never imagined the true villain would reveal themselves today—and possess Kaia's body," Judo said, clenching his fists. "Will Kaia ever return to his old self, or is he stuck like this forever?" Emily asked, tears in her eyes. "Everyone! You're all here!" A familiar voice came from the crowd—it was Sisi, with Sidori by her side. "Emily, big sister!" Sidori ran over and hugged Emily. "I'm so glad you're okay, Sidori," Emily said, holding her tightly. "Yeah, thanks to Sisi risking her life to save me. Where's Kaia, big brother?" Sidori asked. Emily, wiping her tears, looked skyward, and Sidori followed her gaze. Kaia and Emperor Ba were locked in fierce combat in the sky, with Emperor Ba barely holding his own.

"Kaia's so strong, fighting the Demon King toe-to-toe!" Sidori said, unaware of the truth. "It's not like that," Judo explained the situation to her. Sidori's expression shifted from admiration to shock. "How could this happen to Kaia?" she said, distressed. The battle in the sky began to tilt in favor of one side. "What kind of training have you done? Even my years of secluded cultivation can't match you," Emperor Ba panted, gripping his broken sword. "Feel the weight of my thousand-year obsession! Only by truly defeating you brothers can I quench my hatred!" the Blood Demon declared, dripping a few drops of blood onto his demonic sword. The blade glowed red, emitting blood-colored steam. "This sword was forged with ten million human souls and celestial iron. The stronger the blood it absorbs, the greater its power. Today, I'll end your pathetic life with it!" The Blood Demon swung, unleashing a massive crimson wind blade toward Emperor Ba. Emperor Ba tossed aside his broken sword and raised a protective barrier with both hands, but the wind blade sliced through it instantly. It struck Emperor Ba, sending him flying. The blade continued, carving a massive rift into the endless ground below. Emperor Ba, gravely injured, plummeted. "Emperor Ba!" Enis rushed to him in panic. "You monster!" she prepared to act, but I stopped her. "Let me handle this," I said, flying upward. The enemy was now stronger than Emperor Ba, and I couldn't even defeat Emperor Ba. Doubt crept into my heart. "That kid has no chance," Emperor Ba groaned from the ground. "Your turn now? Fine. You ruined my plans, so let's see how I deal with you," the Blood Demon taunted. "Don't get cocky. I'm not that easy to take down!" I retorted, unleashing a barrage of blazing thunderbolts. The Blood Demon casually swung his sword, dispersing them with a wave of sword energy. "My turn," he said, appearing before me in an instant. I instinctively blocked his slash with my sword, but the blade Enis had given me cracked under the impact. "Is his sword that powerful?" I thought, realizing even Enis's craftsmanship couldn't match the Blood Demon's weapon. I stared at my damaged sword, fearing it would shatter with the next strike. The Blood Demon gave me no respite, overwhelming me with a relentless flurry of attacks. My sword finally broke, and he kicked me to the ground. I hit hard, groaning in pain. Struggling to stand, I was weaponless—Enis's sword now reduced to fragments. Furious, I conjured a new sword with magic, reinforcing it with hardening spells. "I'll fight you to the end!" I shouted, flying back up, ready to battle to the death.
