Once they finish eating there food they made there way to the Gryffindor common room following the lead of the house prefect Percy Weasley. Along the way to the Gryffindor common room they was met with the fat lady as she spoke to them "password" the prefect replied "caput draconis" and the portrait opened just like a door "this way now" percy told them all as he climbed into the portate to the common room. Everyone followed behind him as they made there way into the cosy atmosphere of the Gryffindor common room the fire rawing with two sofas and a chest bord ready for a match Nicolas was good at wizard chess McGonagall taught him how to play "gaver around here" percy told all the first-years as they all gavered around near him "welcome to the Gryffindor common room" he spoke with pride in his voice "the boys dormitories are upstairs to the left and the girls the same by to the right you'll find all your belongings are already in your rooms and that if you look on the bord near the stairs of the common rooms you'll find who'll your roommates will be for the rest of your stay at hogwarts now before you all leave you'll need your timetables you'll get them from professor McGonagall first thing this morning she's are head of house" and with that percy left leaving the first years to get settled in, Nicolas looked at Harry and seen him already heading to his room upstairs and Hermione did the same thing so Nicolas being the last first year left walked to the bord and read the paper that contained the room arraignments "ah so I'm with harry, Ron and nevel longbottom that's good I hope none of them snor he giggled as much as he would like to place a silencing charm on his bed he couldn't not this year at least.
He made his way into his room and both Ron and nevel froze "hey Nicolas looks like your beds next to mine" Harry told him as Nicolas just smiled "that's great Harry thank you" Nicolas polite replied as he made his way to his stuff sorting through everything.
Ron was the first to speak "Grindelwald in Gryffindor the hats gone mad" he told nevel who was silent as Ron spoke "that's why he's outcasted from the wizarding world he's a Grindelwald" Ron carried on till he felt a wand in the back of his neck "one more word I didn't chose who I am but I'm nothing like him I was raised by professor mcgonagall and am a proud Gryffindor" Nicolas told him as he removed his wand and got ready to sleep closing his curtains and went to sleep.
Nicolas was the first one awake on his room Harry was still asleep and so was Ron and nevel. Nicolas shook his head and stretched like he did most mornings before he dropped to the floor and started to do some press ups it was one thing to be good with your wands but what if you lose your wand or it gets broken in a fight your body has to be able to be ready aswell Nicolas was healthy for a boy his age already having a four pack and went for runs regularly he enjoyed the feeling it was his peace like flying on a broom but Nicolas wasn't much of a fan of brooms he was good at flying them being able to push any broom handed to him to it's absolute limit Nicolas can probably out beat a chaser on a broom and out maneuver a seeker but he never was one to brag it was something McGonagall always taught him.
After his quick workout he got a shower to was the sweat and sleep away from him before heading into the common room with McGonagalls Transfiguration book he was met with the fire already lit and Hermione reading next to the fire "ah good morning" Nicolas announced making his presence known to the lone girl. She jumped at the sound of his voice and looked at him "Nicolas you up early" Hermione stated "so are you" he pointed out as he approached her "what was that you was reading doesn't look like any book I've seen before" he asked her "ah it's the sword in the stone it's a muggles version of merlin" she explained to Nicolas who nodded and listened "what's that your reading it's the same one I seen you read on the train but It's nothing like the books required this year" Hermione asked "ah its McGonagall's personal book on Transfiguration, It's required to know if I want to be an auror one day" he told her as he sat down in the seat across from her "as long with Transfiguration its also required for me to have knowledge in defence Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Charms and even potions but I also think ancient runes and care of magic creatures which would be open for us in the third year would also help" he told her as she listened to him "once I become an auror I hope I can train in there steath and tracking department as that's best suited for me I don't mind concealment and disguises, it's just not for me" Nicolas finished chuckling at the end "have you thought much of your future" he asked her and Hermione thought about it "I was going to become a dentist like my parents but when I found out I was a witch and since the day at Diagon Alley I've been thinking to become Minster of magic one day" Hermione told him and Nicolas smiled "well you'll have my vote Hermione the first muggle-born witch to be minster is something I can't wait to see" Nicolas told her with a smile "if anyone could do it I know it be you Hermione" Nicolas told her if it had already happened she smiled at that "thank you Nicolas" she told him.
Before they knew it more and more students started to wake up and fill the Gryffindor common room and one inpoticular student walked up to them "hey Nicolas, Hermione "Harry greeted "are you guys heading down to the great hall to get something to eat" he asked them Nicolas and Hermione glanced at eachother before Nicolas stood up "that's a great idea harry" he boldly stated "you joining us Hermione" he offered the girl along to join. She got up and nodded as the trio left to get breakfast along the way they cross paths with McGonagall who looked Happy to see them all "ah Nicolas so good to see you making friends your own age" she smiled "and a Gryffindor never the less" she finished and Nicolas spoke up "good morning professor McGonagall and yes I am gald I'm in Gryffindor" he told her then he also asked her "I was wondering if you had are timetables by any chance " he asked her he knew if him,Harry and especially Hermione got there timetables now it would be easier for them "yes here you are dear" she said as she handed over there timetables to Nicolas who passed one to harry and Hermione and keeping one for himself, McGonagall also added "now are you three on your way to the great hall for breakfast" Hermione now being the one to reply told her "yes professor McGonagall" McGonagall smiled she knew Hermione and Harry are the perfect people to be around Nicolas and in same with Nicolas to them "good now your three run along and enjoy your breakfast" she also told them "I'll be in the great hall shortly if you have any questions about your timetables if not I'm sure Nicolas is more then capable of answering your questions for you" she finished as she looked at them all before leaving.
They carried on walking to the great hall discussing there timetables with one another "Harry have you read any of your books yet" Hermione asked and Harry truthfully only read two of the seven books they needed "only some I've just got the basics down in most subjects" he told her truthly "good Harry this Saturday we'll meet up in the library to go over everything if you like, You should come aswell Nicolas" she asked them both keen on a moment to learn.
"Sure" Nicolas reply and Harry nodded "good I expect to see you both there" she told them her bushy hair bouncing with every movement she made "Hermione" Nicolas asked her. She looked at him before speaking "yes Nicolas" she answer "what lesson you looking forward to" he asked her "umm" she hummed unsure what one to pick "charms or Transfiguration sounds like fun" she told him honestly before he asked Harry " what about you harry" and Harry surprised still answered "potions and defense against the dark arts" this made Nicolas smile "have you gave much thought for your future Harry" he asked the saviour he's always wondered what the boy who lived planned to do with his life "I'm not to sure to be honest" Harry shyly admitted "that's fine Harry we're only in are first year" he reminded him.
They soon made it to the great hall and took there seats at the Gryffindor table with Nicolas sitting next to Hermione while Harry sat across from Nicolas they all ate some breakfast. Nicolas filled his plate with two eggs, four sausages, three pieces of bacon and some toast he ate his food quietly whiles he waited for the post to arrive waiting for his copy of the daily profit from his and McGonagall's barn owl helga she was an old but capable owl she's never failed a delivery and was one of the fastest owls in hogwarts. Soon the screeches of owls filled the hall as the post soon arrived Nicolas's copy of the daily profit landed infront of him as he opened it to read today's paper whiles he ate his breakfast prepared for the journey that awaits him.
