How?
More importantly how did I end up like that?
Was this the test?
"There is no test." she said. "I am you, from the future. You don't get a test. Just a look at your future." She smiled.
"And I turn out like this? How?" I looked at her mortified. How did I turn out with such a dark aura?
"We made the wrongchoice."
"And what choice did we make?" Maybe I could prevent it.
"I can't tell you." She winked.
The relic will test you.
Why would Sera say that, if 'future me' says there's no test.
"What do you mean you want to kill this part of me?" I looked at her suspiciously.
Her eyes darkened. "The part of you that believes that there's good in EVERYTHING!" she yelled angrily. "YOU," she chuckled and sneered, "YOU CAN'T SAVE EVERYBODY!"
Her eyes. That's when I realized something. Eyes don't lie. Her eyes looked at me with jealousy and envy. And also regret.
"You're not me from the future." I backed away a bit.
"You're future is perfect. You made the correct choice. And I made the wrong one." She looked like she was going to kill me. "I am you, alright. From a different future." She stepped closer to me.
So then what's my test?
"The sword would want to know, how indecisive you would be after meeting me, a person from a different future, to make the correct decision." she moved closer to me. "It'll test you, after this. This isn't your test. Your decision is."
She faded like dust being carried away from the wind.
Everything lightened. It was back to normal. I looked down and I had the sword in my hand. People gathered around me. Some were confused, others were shocked.
"Reveal yourself, Chosen One!" Serophose commanded me.
I glared at him. He was having fun with this.
I revealed myself, taking off the hood of my cloak that covered my face.
People around me gasped and started muttering. Some backed away from me.
"The Prophecy is true!" One women screamed.
"Princess Lira had returned!" Another man yelled.
More commotion. I wasn't really Princess Lira. Just a rebirth of her. Even though my name is the same, but we have a different way of thinking.
People who were inside their house, now went to check what was going on outside.
Serophose grabbed my arm, and we started running towards the cavern. Kairos followed.
"You didn't have to make me reveal myself." I scolded him.
"It's better this way. These people needed help. They needed hope."
We went inside. I gave the sword to Kairos.
The red stone glowed brighter.
Kairos activated it. He closed his eyes and the stone glowed gold. When he opened them, the stone changed the color from red to white.
He handed the sword to me.
When I touched it, suddenly everything shifted again. Was this another meeting with someone?
No.
This was different.
My vision blurred. I felt like fainting, but at the same time I didn't.
I could see worry on their faces.
Kairos was saying something, but it was muffled.
I only grasped one word.
"Fading"
I looked at myself. I really was fading.
The place changed. My eyesight and hearing went back to normal.
But I didn't.
It was as if I was a ghost.
Did I die?
No. That wouldn't be possible.
I was inside some palace hall. It looked really familiar. Feels familiar. Like a house.
This was the palace of the royals.
The sword was gone from my hands. Where did it go?
Did it take me here?
I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around me.
It was me. Princess Lira.
I stood in front of her. (Me?)
She didn't even acknowledge me.
She walked through me.
Was I actually a ghost?
But how did I travel back in time?
"I've simply sent you back to the past child. No need to be frightened." A mighty and loud voice boomed through out the halls, echoing.
"God?" I called out. It really did seem like it. Had I really died? Why did he send me back to the past?
"Uh... No."
"Oh..."
I probably seemed like an idiot to him.
"Wait. Then who are you?" I looked up confused. I didn't know where he was, so my best guess was to look up.
"Over here, dear child."
He tapped my shoulder. Turns out he was standing to the left of me. Now I've made myself seem even more foolish and also embarrassed myself.
The person was wearing a long purple cloak, with a hood on covering his face. Gold accents long the sleeves.
When I say he was tall, is an understatement.
He was around 10 feet tall.
"I apologize for my appearance. This is the smallest I can shrink to."
I'm scared to know his original height.
"Who are you?"
"The keeper of time, appointed by the gods. The one who guards the strings of fate. The one who keeps the timeline in check. I am Dunamis."
"Ok, but you could've told me without the introduction." I crossed my arms.
He scoffed at me.
"I save your life, and you repay me with arrogance."
Saved me?
