"Oh no, someone's fighting, someone's going to die!"
Yao Meiling darted over to the person and helped them sit up, yelling loudly as she did so.
The ruckus in the changing room had already drawn the attention of people outside. Especially after some women went to inform security, more and more people gathered at the door of the women's changing room, all peering inside curiously.
Yin Qi had been the first to leave the changing room, taking care of Beibei and waiting outside for quite some time, but Li Si never appeared. At that moment, Yin Xian emerged from the men's changing room. She anxiously approached him, "Xiao Xian, Li Si hasn't come out for ages, and there's a big crowd gathering at the women's changing room door. Could something have happened to her?"
"Sis, stay here with Beibei and don't wander around. I'll go check it out."
Yin Xian quickly ran to the edge of the crowd, parted the throng, and walked inside, where he saw Li Si surrounded by several women.
"Li Si, what's going on? Are you okay?" Yin Xian looked her up and down, worried she might be hurt.
"I'm fine. It's just that they tried to gang up on me, but I kicked one of them down. Now they're surrounding me, not letting me leave!" Li Si felt a little touched and explained softly.
"Who are you people? Do you know that gathering to fight is illegal?" Yin Xian faced the group sternly and scoffed coldly.
"Illegal? What law, huh? It's her, Li Si, who injured my classmate. There's a witness here! Li Si, I suggest you humble yourself and apologize—maybe we'll go easy on you!"
Yao Meiling glared at Li Si with some jealousy. How did this woman get so lucky to know such a handsome guy? He clearly looked like the scion of a wealthy family.
"I don't need you to go easy on me. Even in court, I wouldn't be afraid—this is called self-defense! Besides, your classmate should cut the act and just get up already. I didn't even use my full strength!" Li Si had clearly noticed the little gestures between Yao Meiling and the woman.
The crowd was stunned. Kicking someone down so hard without full strength—what would it be like if she went all out?
"Fine, Li Si, I'll let you off today, but mark my words—while you're still in North City, you better watch yourself!"
Yao Meiling's classmates were all followers of hers. After her harsh words, they helped the injured girl out of the changing room, and the rest hurriedly followed.
Yin Xian took Li Si's hand and asked with concern, "Li Si, are you really not hurt? Don't lie to me!"
"I'm really fine!"
"Who were those people? And why were you fighting?" Yin Xian asked, full of care.
"One of them was my college classmate; the rest were her middle school friends. Just over some trivial matters, anyway, I'm okay—don't worry. Sister Qi and Beibei are still waiting outside, right? Let's head out!" This was, after all, the women's changing room, so Yin Xian felt awkward staying inside any longer.
As they stepped out the door, Yin Qi held Beibei's hand and quickly approached to ask if Li Si was alright or hurt. Li Si gave a brief explanation.
"Li Si, are you okay?"
A man's anxious voice sounded at that moment. It was Meng Zijun, who had just heard about the incident from others at the reunion.
Li Si rolled her eyes. Could this guy stop showing up in front of her? "I'm fine. Please step aside—we're leaving!"
"Sis, who's this guy? Could he be your boyfriend?"
Li Fei came running up behind Meng Zijun, asking as she entered, her eyes busy scrutinizing Yin Xian. Looking at Yin Xian's handsome face and high-quality attire, she felt upset. How could someone like him be interested in Li Si? No taste!
Li Si glared upon seeing Li Fei. "None of your business! And since we're sort of family, I'll remind you—try to show some restraint!"
Without waiting for her reaction, Li Si turned without another word, and the group walked away.
"You... You..."
Li Fei stomped her foot in frustration, turning back to find Meng Zijun staring blankly at Li Si's departing figure. This made her even angrier. Li Si was really something now—surrounded by a handsome, high-quality guy, while even the man she liked, Meng Zijun, was being seduced by her! Just you wait, Li Si—you'll regret this!
Yin Xian drove wordlessly, while Li Si stole several glances at his resolute profile before finally mustering the courage to speak. "Brother Yin, just let me off up ahead. I won't go back to the hotel with you."
Yin Xian glanced at her with some dissatisfaction, but then continued driving. Yin Qi, in the back seat holding the sleeping Beibei, spoke up, "Li Si, come back with us. Tomorrow's New Year's Day. Let's celebrate together! Your Aunt Han was feeling much better last night—after New Year's, she's planning to fly back to Beijing!"
"No, Sister Qi. I'm a bit tired today and want to rest early. I also have things to take care of tomorrow, so I won't intrude on your family celebration!" Li Si genuinely felt exhausted today, her tone carrying traces of fatigue.
"Alright then, Li Si. When you have time, come to the hotel to see us—don't feel shy, okay?" Yin Qi didn't press further, seeing Li Si's weariness.
Yin Xian still remained silent but steered the car toward Li Si's home. Half an hour later, Li Si waved at the departing car before turning and heading upstairs.
At the hotel, the Han family's private doctor, Zhang Quande, was staring at a medical report in amazement.
He had been urgently summoned to North City, and upon arriving at the hotel, was greeted by Mrs. Han, who seemed full of energy, leaving him baffled.
How was it possible for an elderly woman who had been weak and lethargic just the day before to appear now so energetic and lively?
After listening to her detailed account, he found nothing unusual about the situation. He subsequently suggested a comprehensive hospital check-up for peace of mind, which led to the report he was now holding.
Comparatively speaking, Mrs. Han was quite robust for her age, though she still suffered from conditions like blood thickening, constipation, and coronary artery disease. But the current results showed a stark improvement compared to her previous check-up.
The most perplexing aspect was that she hadn't taken any new medications.
When Yin Qi and Yin Xian entered with Beibei, they found Doctor Zhang staring at the report with a puzzled expression, while Mrs. Han sat on the sofa cheerfully sipping a steaming cup of tea.
"Mom, how is it? What did Doctor Zhang say?"
Yin Qi was anxious about the results. Last night, her mother-in-law had gone to the restroom three times, becoming progressively more ecstatic each time. As someone who had battled chronic constipation for years, she usually ate very carefully, favoring porridge and light dishes.
She initially thought the vegetables Yin Xian and his group brought back were unclean and had even called the front desk for medicine.
But after several trips to the restroom, her mother-in-law announced that she felt rejuvenated and hadn't felt so relieved in years. By morning, she was noticeably more energetic and cheerful.
"Xiao Qi, earlier today, I went to the hospital with Doctor Zhang for a full-body check-up. It turns out the problems with blood thickening and constipation have improved significantly. Isn't that strange?"
"This really is hard to explain. Could it have been caused by the food you ate? But that doesn't make sense—Mrs. Han, you ate the same food, right? Did you notice anything different today?" Doctor Zhang interrupted himself, shaking his head in disbelief. This situation was beyond explanation.
