CASEY
We waited until the music stopped, and then one of the musicians came towards me and gave me a box.
I took it, not knowing what to do with it.
"Open it," the guy said as he took steps back.
I opened the box, and there were two little toy gun thingy inside.
One was red — it said yes.
The other was blue — it said no.
I found myself laughing, my hand over my mouth.
"What is it?" Jennifer asked, peering inside.
She also laughed with me as she took the toy guns out. Then she started showing them to the people around us, saying,
"Red is yes, and blue is no."
The people started clapping, cheering, and waiting for what I would do. I knew this was a show and they wanted a show. They were waiting for a yes.
I took both the guns in my hand and then pulled the red gun.
Tiny petals of red went out of the gun before suddenly, it went black. And the only thing that could be seen at that moment was those red lights going down…
