Chapter 139 - Chapter 137: Meteorite Falls on Mount Myōboku, Toneri’s Confidence

"Long ago, before the age of shinobi..."

"A man claimed to have mastered a forbidden technique, harnessed the power of chakra, and brought order to a chaotic world."

"But in later generations... people grew too dependent on that power."

"One must ask: is it power—or love—that sustains order?"

"This contradiction spread like a slow-burning fire..."

"Eh... Lord Madara, what happened after that?"

A little girl asked curiously, biting her finger.

Uchiha Madara folded his arms, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"What happened next?"

"The world's chaos was ended by the legendary Uchiha Madara."

"Huh? Why is Madara-sama talking about himself?"

"It was Naruto-sama who ended the chaos! Madara-sama was deceived!"

Before the girl could finish, Madara interrupted coldly:

"That was only the first time the chaos ended."

Whoosh—

Naruto looked up, narrowing his eyes.

From the heavens descended several puppets, riding on massive black birds.

At their head, a lone figure floated, eyes closed—yet it felt like he was still staring straight at Naruto.

"Uzumaki Naruto... I didn't expect you to find this place."

"Are you here to stop me?"

"You cannot stop destiny. The world the Sage of Six Paths created... is about to be destroyed."

With a casual wave, the figure unleashed countless puppets from a barrier.

Their target was clear: Hanabi and Hinata.

Whoosh—

Naruto raised his hand.

The nearest puppet was instantly dragged toward him by an invisible force.

Snap!

Naruto crushed its head with a simple squeeze.

"Oh?"

The figure's eyes remained closed, but interest flickered across his face.

"You have some power... All of you, attack!"

Toneri waved again, commanding every puppet to change course and swarm Naruto.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Chakra spheres condensed in the puppets' palms and fired like a storm.

But—

Buzz—

The chakra spheres dissolved into nothingness before even reaching three meters from Naruto.

Toneri's frown deepened.

The expected explosions never came.

Instead, the chakra had been completely absorbed.

Behind Naruto, a ghostly silhouette appeared—dense with absorbing chakra.

Boom!

In an instant, Toneri's control over his puppets was severed.

"Impressive," Toneri said mockingly.

"But it's too late. The end of the world is already coming. Before that..."

A sly, mocking smile crossed his face.

"Before everything crumbles... Hinata and Hanabi will be mine."

He laughed eerily.

At the same time—

A massive meteorite, loosed from the moon, blazed toward the shinobi world.

Naruto sensed it long before it became visible.

Meteorites, like brilliant shooting stars, streaked across the sky.

In a distant place, Uchiha Madara narrowed his eyes.

"Oh?"

He smiled thinly.

"This thing... it's filled with chakra."

"Is there something... outside?"

Just as he raised his hand to perform a jutsu, a voice called out.

"Don't bother, Madara. I can sense Naruto's chakra."

It was Senju Tobirama.

"Besides," Tobirama said, turning, "come with me to the lab."

Madara glanced up—and saw the meteorite's course had indeed been altered.

Elsewhere, at Mount Myōboku—

The Great Toad Sage stirred from his meditation, his ancient, clouded eyes wide with unease.

Jiraiya and Fukasaku were also present, deep in training.

Suddenly, a toad rushed over, alarmed.

"A meteorite!" it cried.

"It's falling toward Mount Myōboku!"

The Great Toad Sage's expression turned grave.

"The world's destruction... has begun."

"We must stop Konoha and Uzumaki Naruto immediately!"

The communication toad bolted to deliver the message.

Upon arrival, it shouted frantically:

"The Great Toad Sage says the end of the world has begun!"

"We must stop Uzumaki Naruto and Konoha now!"

Another toad sprinted in, breathless:

"Bad news!"

"Something is falling from the sky!"

Everyone—Jiraiya, Fukasaku, Shima, and the toads—looked up.

A colossal meteorite blazed toward them.

"This enemy... we cannot resist it by normal means!"

"Scatter! Quickly!"

Back at the Earth-Moon barrier—

Toneri sneered.

He had no idea the meteorite's trajectory had already been shifted by Naruto.

All things are drawn to Heaven.

Naruto raised a hand toward Toneri.

Toneri smirked.

"Absorption techniques won't work on me."

But before he could act, Toneri's body froze.

An invisible force gripped him, utterly imprisoning him.

Whoosh—

Toneri was sucked straight toward Naruto.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, laughing awkwardly.

"Is that so?"

Toneri's closed eyes suddenly opened—revealing a pitch-black void.

"This isn't my real body."

"Next time... I'll come in person."

Snap—

Naruto squeezed slightly, and Toneri's "face" cracked open—revealing puppet parts underneath.

"Hehehe... Next time, Konoha won't be so lucky."

"Your magic won't work on me again."

Toneri's puppet shell slumped, lifeless.

Naruto swept his gaze across the battlefield, filled with fallen puppets.

Activating his Mori Mori Fruit ability, vines burst forth, dragging the broken puppets toward him.

"Moon technology's pretty advanced..."

Naruto smiled.

"Guess I'll bring these back for Orochimaru and Sasori."

After storing all the puppets into a sealing scroll,

Naruto casually brushed the dust from his hands.

The battlefield was clean.

He turned and walked toward a nearby pool, where pale moonlight shimmered on the surface.

Thump—

Naruto leapt forward and descended.

Soon, he arrived before a strange illusion.

Countless glowing orbs floated lazily within the pool, each one radiating soft, eerie light.

Closing his eyes, Naruto allowed himself to sink into the illusion.

Within moments, he saw a vision—

A small, lonely boy.

Himself, in his childhood.

Snap—

But the illusion cracked almost immediately.

Naruto's mind, far stronger than before, shattered the dream without hesitation.

He pressed forward, weaving through a sea of "small moons" that glowed like gentle stars.

Ahead, another pool shimmered in the darkness.

When he reemerged, he found himself in a cavern filled with floating bubbles.

Boom, boom—

A loud rumble shook the ground.

From the depths, a giant crab, lazily blowing bubbles, crawled out.

It loomed before Naruto, its claws massive and dripping.

"Touch the bubble balls, and you'll fall into a high-level illusion like before," the crab warned, voice deep and hollow.

But before the creature could react further, it froze—motionless.

Naruto stepped forward, placing a hand lightly on its heavy pincers.

"Good strength," he said with a grin.

Drawing on the deepest reserves of his Mori Mori no Mi ability, Naruto absorbed all the strange chakra within the crab's body.

"On the way back... we're having hairy crab tonight."

Snap—

The crab's pupils shrank, then dilated—

caught in Naruto's illusion, where illusion became reality.

It was already dead.

Bang, bang—

Naruto patted the crab's thick shell and laughed lightly.

"Full of crab roe."

After a short walk, he looked up—and saw it.

An exit above him.

A glowing orb of light floated dead center in the hole, like a pupil inside an eye socket.

The resemblance to an eye was unmistakable.

Naruto tapped the ground lightly with his toes—

and slowly floated upward.

Breaking free from the cave, the view exploded open.

An endless sea stretched beneath him.

The island was not grounded—it was floating in the sky.

Below, the sea twisted into a perfect, unnatural circle.

Naruto flew onward, into a dense forest.

Hidden among the trees, countless of Toneri's puppets lurked.

But before they could react, Naruto severed all their connections to Toneri with a thought.

Meanwhile, back in his castle,

Toneri sat before a dim fire, murmuring:

"Stay still. Don't act until I arrive."

Unaware that every single puppet had already been sealed away inside Naruto's scroll.

Naruto's pace was unhurried.

Before long, he reached what remained of an ancient underground city.

The ruins were old—very old.

Crumbling stone towers, cracked pathways.

Through the cracks between fallen buildings, Naruto glimpsed something.

Skulls.

Hundreds of them.

Bones piled in mounds.

He descended slowly, landing inside a broken underground palace.

Raising his hand, he summoned a Rasengan.

The blue-white spiral lit up the entire chamber.

What it revealed were countless small earthen graves.

And then—

A shadow emerged.

A figure stumbled forward from among the graves.

"The Byakugan..." it muttered hoarsely, bowing its head low.

"I can feel... the Byakugan..."

It made a guttural noise—

"Ooh—"

An eerie, excited groan.

The figure drew closer.

"There's no mistake... it's the Byakugan..."

"The purest Byakugan!"

The figure raised its face—and Naruto saw:

Empty sockets.

Where eyes should have been, only black hollows.

The body twitched uncontrollably.

Its mouth opened wider—far beyond natural limits.

From deep within, a glowing white sphere emerged.

The orb slowly floated out of its mouth, growing larger as it moved.

When it reached Naruto, it finally stopped.

The grotesque figure that had birthed it began to fade into mist and vanish.

Whoosh—

Suddenly, the ball of light erupted—

flaring into a dazzling purple radiance.

Naruto saw scenes from the past.

As the images faded, the figure reappeared.

"The Tenseigan... is about to be revived... We must stop... the Ōtsutsuki..."

Boom boom——

At the same time, the surface of the moon shook violently.

Countless meteorites broke free and rained toward the Earth.

However, just as they entered low-Earth orbit, every single one of them suddenly changed direction.

"Move it!"

"There's no way forward!"

"Line up! Don't push!"

"Stay calm! We'll use Reverse Summoning one at a time!"

—whoosh—

Another meteorite fell, striking the earth nearby.

Boom! Boom!

Chunks of rock and dust exploded into the air.

"Stay calm! Everyone stay calm!"

Jiraiya shouted, rallying the panicked toads.

"Damn it! Damn that Uzumaki Naruto!"

Shima roared, leaping onto Gamabunta's massive head.

"Listen up!" she bellowed.

"Once you're out, head straight to Konoha!"

"We must overthrow Uzumaki Naruto and the Hokage! They're going to destroy the whole ninja world!"

——

At the same time, Naruto arrived at the entrance of Toneri's castle.

"Otsutsuki Hamura's destiny..."

Naruto muttered, stepping through the ancient gates.

"Otsutsuki Hamura — founder of the Moon Clan, younger brother of the Sage of Six Paths,"

Toneri's voice echoed through the halls.

"The Hyūga carry Hamura's bloodline, passed down through thousands of years."

"My brother, the Sage of Six Paths, feared the power of the Ten-Tails... Feared it would bring ruin."

"He hid the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path on the moon once the Ten-Tails lost its chakra."

Toneri's silhouette slowly floated out of the castle shadows, his white robe gleaming in the cold light.

"For millennia, Earth's shinobi have fought endlessly..."

"But so too have we, here on the Moon."

The hidden truth:

The Moon Clan — torn apart by their own branch family system —

had twisted Hamura's original wishes into endless infighting.

Naruto shook his head slightly.

He had met Hamura's lingering spirit in the underground tomb —

the true Hamura who had seen the corruption that grew after his time.

Hamura had sensed the power Naruto carried.

Understanding the meaning behind Naruto's journey,

Hamura had willingly entrusted him with all of his remaining strength.

Now, facing Naruto, Toneri's lips curved into a cold smile.

Even without his eyes, Toneri was still supremely confident.

In the next instant, countless puppets shot into the air, riding enormous black birds.

Each one gathered swirling chakra spheres between their hands.

Toneri raised his hand and gave a sharp command:

"Silence!"

—whoosh—

Countless chakra spheres launched forward—

—straight toward Toneri himself.

In an instant, the sky above Toneri was filled with searing lights.

Toneri: "…"
