Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Beginning of Uncertainty

[Since you left the village as a non-ninja, Konoha did not officially label you as a rogue ninja.]

[Sasuke instantly recognized you, and he hoped you would return to Konoha with him.]

[Facing this absent father, you had no intention of responding to him, continuing to walk forward without paying him any attention.]

[Sasuke, however, relentlessly followed you, trying to convince you to return, but his words, clumsy as they were, failed to change your mind.]

[Eventually, Sasuke decided to take matters into his own hands, attempting to forcefully bring you back to the village.]

[You and Sasuke fought, but you never anticipated how much power resided in the body of this father you never cared for.]

[Even with one arm, he effortlessly overwhelmed you.]

[Having not trained for an entire year out of fear that increasing your strength would harm Sarada, you, despite having the Mangekyō Sharingan, were no match for Sasuke.]

[Before you could even activate the abilities of your Mangekyō Sharingan, Sasuke's terrifying ocular power scattered them.]

[Sasuke, still remembering the father-son bond, deliberately held back, showing you mercy.]

[The fight continued, leading you both to a cliff's edge, where you had nowhere left to retreat.]

[Sasuke looked at you with a complex expression.]

["Come back with me, Shiro. Sarada really misses you."]

[You didn't respond, merely shaking your head silently.]

[For some reason, you had a premonition that the moment you saw Sarada again would also be the moment of her death.]

[Without saying a word, you jumped off the cliff, and Sasuke couldn't react in time.]

[As Sasuke quickly jumped after you, summoning his Susanoo to try and save you, you seized the opportunity and activated the power of your left Mangekyō Sharingan.]

["Chase Void!"]

[Chase Void was the ocular technique contained in your left eye. After using it, you could teleport to any place you've previously visited. The farther the distance, the more chakra it consumed.]

Shiro: (⊙o⊙)!!

That's like a version of Flying Raijin, but with my eyes?!

This is amazing! I like it…

[This time, you expended all of your chakra.]

[You disappeared before Sasuke's eyes.]

[After the teleportation ended, you fell unconscious from chakra exhaustion.]

[When you woke up, you found yourself in a dilapidated thatched hut.]

["You're awake?"]

[Clearly, someone had rescued you while you were unconscious, and the person smiling at you was a woman.]

[She was so beautiful...]

[Just one glance, and you knew she would become the white moonlight of your life.]

[Her name was Qin.]

[From the moment you met Qin, you felt an intense fondness for this gentle woman. However, the ever-present aura of misfortune around you made you hesitant to stay close to her.]

[Snapping out of your thoughts, you immediately tried to get up from the bed, ready to leave.]

[Qin saw this and quickly stopped you, asking in confusion, "Where are you going?"]

[You pretended to act cold, keeping a distance.]

["Don't come near me. I'll bring misfortune to you."]

[It seemed that Qin didn't hear your words at all and simply smiled, saying, "You've been hurt badly, so you should heal before you leave."]

[In that moment, her gentleness made you unable to refuse. You agreed to stay.]

[Qin's smile grew even more charming. "I'm Qin."]

["I'm Shiro."]

[Qin lived in a small village built by wandering ninjas at the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Earth.]

[The village wasn't large, but it was full of laughter.]

[The villagers welcomed you warmly, showing genuine concern for you. However, you, afraid of the bad luck that might affect them, couldn't bring yourself to fully embrace their warmth.]

[But as time passed, you noticed that your misfortune didn't seem to harm anyone in the village, no matter how long you stayed with them.]

[It seemed that you had found a place where you belonged.]

[After recovering from your injuries, you decided to settle down in the village. The villagers welcomed you enthusiastically, and you could feel that Qin was also happy about this.]

[A year passed, and you were now eight years old, while Qin was fourteen.]

[Qin's grandfather, the village's only doctor, took you in and made you his adopted grandson.]

[Qin's grandfather made her carry a medicinal basket every day to gather herbs from the mountains.]

[Having just arrived, you volunteered to carry the medicinal basket, and every day you went up the mountain with Qin to gather herbs.]

[Two years had passed, and you had fully integrated into village life.]

[Every time you and Qin returned from gathering herbs, the villagers would tease Qin about having such a good brother.]

[You would always respond seriously.]

["I'm not her brother. When I grow up, I'll definitely marry Qin."]

[This would always result in laughter from the villagers.]

["Hurry up and grow up, little Shiro!"]

["Want to marry the most beautiful flower in the village? It's not that easy!"]

["Good luck, little Shiro!"]

...

[The jokes always ended with Qin's playful scolding.]

["Stop it, little brother…"]

[These were peaceful and fulfilling days, and you felt like life was slowly improving.]

[One day, when you were eleven, you happened to notice that Qin was sewing her wedding dress by hand.]

[Your heart skipped a beat, and you quickly asked her if she was going to get married.]

[Qin's answer made you breathe a sigh of relief.]

["No, here in our village, every girl must finish making her wedding dress before she turns eighteen. It's a tradition."]

[Taking the opportunity, you asked Qin to make a wedding dress for you too.]

[Qin shook her head, looking at you with a gentle expression.]

["No, you're still too young. We'll talk about it when you grow up."]

["Then, Qin, wait for me a few more years. When I grow up, you can make my wedding dress, and I'll wear it to marry you."]

["Stop joking, little brother."]

[When you heard this, the question kept lingering in your mind: how old would you have to be to be considered grown up?]

[You desperately wanted to grow up quickly so you could marry Qin.]

...

[This... It really looks like a one-sided crush.]

[It's truly all in my head, right? I don't care if you don't feel the same, as long as I do!]

[Shiro felt an unsettling feeling. He had a strange premonition that this girl named Qin might very well be the reason for his eventual downfall…]

[On the twelfth year of your life, everything seemed peaceful until one day, on your way up the mountain with Qin to gather herbs, you unexpectedly encountered a child with onion-shaped hair. The strange thing was, this child had the Sharingan in his eyes!!!]
