Chapter 9 - Chapter 009 Shopping Street, Encounter with Dawn

How should I put it? Ash, who was originally a little interested in the lottery, now regrets it.

These prizes don't seem to be of much use to him...

Poké Ball stickers, but he doesn't participate in the Grand Festival; Ketchup and Nanab Berry will only bring him trouble.

The remaining ones are still slightly useful.

Among them, the best for Ash 1777 should be the restaurant invitation ticket, right? Although Pokémon Trainers can enjoy discounts at various restaurants, it's still not as cost-effective as the Pokémon Center.

If he could win an invitation ticket, Ash would definitely feast there.

But....

"oki!oki!"

"pika~pi!!"

Because the prizes include things that Pikachu and Aipom like the most, they both volunteered to draw lots.

But is it really that easy...?

Looking at the crank lottery machine placed on the table, Ash stepped forward and weighed it slightly.

There were at least 50 or 60 balls inside, right? To draw those few colored balls representing the winning prizes from so many small balls...

Oh well, you always have to try everything.

"Since you two want to draw so much, I'll leave it to you.

You two draw twice each, and I'll draw the last time, okay?"

"pi~ka!"

"oki!"

Pikachu and Aipom replied happily.

It seems they really want those two prizes.

Ash shrugged, first picked up Pikachu, so that its hand could grab the lottery machine's crank, and then Pikachu started to frantically turn the lottery machine in front of it.

"kakakaka~~"

Countless small balls collided continuously in the lottery machine, making a ping-pong sound.

Pikachu stopped with a confident look, and a small ball fell out of the machine with inertia and landed on the prize tray below.

"White!"

The uncle clapped his hands and handed them over in Pikachu's surprised eyes...

"Congratulations, a pack of tissues."

"pika?!"

That's it?

Pikachu couldn't help but think in its mind.

It tried so hard to draw, and it was constantly praying in its heart, even if it didn't get ketchup, it should at least get some other prizes, right?

"...Well, there's one more time, don't give up so early, what if you get it next time?"

"pi!"

Hearing Ash's comfort, Pikachu cheered up again.

Indeed, just like Ash said, even if it didn't come out the first time, there is still a next chance! As long as there is still a chance and it hasn't given up, the god of luck will definitely favor it!

Pikachu took a deep breath and shook the lottery machine again in full view.

"A pack of tissues! Thanks for your patronage!"

"pi~ka..."

Encountering the same result again, Pikachu has curled up into a ball and fallen into the shadows, there is nothing more painful than having a year's worth of ketchup in front of you, but you can't get it no matter what.

Knowing this, wouldn't it be better not to draw a lottery...

Looking at Pikachu's dejected appearance, Ash suddenly began to regret letting Pikachu draw the lottery.

Originally, its mood had been high because it had bought two more bottles of Ketchup, but now it seems... the less said the better.

"oki~ki~!"

Although Aipom is Pikachu's companion, it laughed the happiest after seeing Pikachu's bad luck.

Its personality of enjoying the excitement is really perfect for this situation.

After "disdaining" Pikachu's luck in its heart, Aipom jumped directly onto the lottery table without Ash's Assist.

It wanted to rely on its own strength to get what it wanted.

The goal is the blue beads! A month's worth of Nanab Berry!

"okiiii!"

"Thank you for your patronage, here are two sets of napkins!"

Ash: "..."

Looking at the figures curled up in the corner, from one to two, he didn't know what to say for a while.

It's one thing for Pikachu to say it was unlucky, but Aipom's situation can only be said to be deserved, right? Who told it to be so arrogant before? It's good to learn a lesson through this opportunity.

"Forget it, let's see if I can draw something..."

No matter how strict my thoughts are, Pikachu and Aipom are, at least, my companions.

Although I can't draw two rewards with one ticket, if I can at least get one thing they want, it should liven up the atmosphere a bit.

I should have gone to eat first.

Ash sighed in his heart.

After messing around with those two here for a while, he was really hungry too.

It's better to finish early and call it a day.

With that thought, Ash reached out and began to gently shake the lottery machine.

The clacking sound of the pillars colliding rose and fell, echoing in the supermarket.

The residents who had seen Ash and Pikachu arguing earlier were still watching Ash silently, curious about whether Ash could draw what Pikachu and Aipom wanted, or win other prizes.

Time slowly passed.

After about ten seconds, Ash finally took his hand off the joystick.

With a flash of golden light, a golden bead appeared on the plate below the lottery machine.

"This, this is!!!" .

"Oh!"

"It actually really..."

"Con-grat-u-la-tions!"

The uncle picked up the bell on the table and started shaking it like crazy, announcing in this lively way that the grand prize had been won.

"Congratulations on winning the first prize! This is the prize! The complete set of Poké Ball stickers that are currently on sale! Congratulations!"

As the uncle handed the prize to Ash, the audience burst into celebratory applause.

How should I put it, I don't feel happy at all...

Ash felt the resentful eyes of Pikachu and Aipom in the corner, and for a moment he felt that the first prize he won was a hot potato.

He understood that Aipom and Pikachu were not complaining that he didn't help them win the prizes they wanted, but were complaining about why he was so lucky.

Seeing him win makes me even more uet than my own misfortune!

Maybethis is the mentality that non-Euclidean individuals inevitably have when facing Euclidean individuals?

Just as Bai Chen was about to put away the prize and leave the scene, a familiar voice, one that existed in his memory, suddenly came from behind him.

"Eh--am I too late? The prize has already been drawn?"

Dawn...

Ash's pupils were shimmering, and bending over in front of him, panting and looking regretful, was Dawn, the companion who traveled with him in the Sinnoh region in his memories.

Ash stared at her, and she was staring at the prize in Ash's hand.

Strands of blue hair slipped from beside her ear, and there was a faint sheen of sweat on her forehead.

One of the straof the yellow backpack slung over her shoulder had slipped down to her elbow.

Dawn's appearance at this moment could not be described as disheveled, but it wasn't very presentable either, and it was clear that she was quite anxious on her way here.

Could it really be for... this thing...?

Ash's gaze also began to fall on the prize in his hand, and after roughly guessing the ins and outs of the matter, he suddenly felt a little troubled.
