Chapter 11: Bullying.
A few minutes ago, a massive monster with rough, yellowish skin suddenly appeared in Harlem, New York City.
Standing over two meters tall, the creature's body was a grotesque mass of muscles and bones, with a skeletal chest and rows of protruding bones along its back that somewhat resembled fins.
The monster rampaged through the streets, tossing cars aside as if they were mere toys.
"Sir, something just charged into the street!"
On a military plane, General Ross was pleased to have finally captured Dr. Bruce Banner. However, a soldier wearing a headset quickly turned back to him with a concerned expression.
"General, you need to hear this — it's urgent."
Without much thought, General Ross picked up the phone. On the other end, he could hear the chaotic sounds of roaring engines and frantic voices.
"Hulk is on the street! I repeat, Hulk is on the street!"
The soldier's words left General Ross visibly confused. He turned his head toward Bruce Banner, who was calmly seated on the plane. It made no sense — how could Hulk be on the ground when Banner was right in front of him?
"Impossible. Stay calm, soldier. Where are you right now?" Ross questioned.
"121st Street, moving north along Broadway!" the soldier reported.
General Ross immediately commanded the pilot to turn the plane around while continuing to communicate with the soldiers.
"Keep me updated on the situation," Ross ordered firmly.
…
Meanwhile, soldiers on the ground had finally caught up to the monster. The beast's destructive spree continued as terrified citizens scattered, desperate to escape the chaos. Explosions, screams, and the constant –wailing of car alarms filled the air.
From the plane, Ross and his team could see the destruction below, leaving them in shock.
"This… Is this the result of your military experiment too?" Banner asked, glaring at Ross with disdain.
"Oh my God, what have you done?" Ross's daughter, Betty, looked at her father in disbelief.
General Ross remained silent, equally bewildered. He had no idea where this monstrous figure had come from. All he knew was that it was far from under control.
Below, the police opened fire, aiming their pistols at the creature. However, the bullets merely bounced off its thick skin without leaving a scratch. Enraged, the monster lashed out, sending officers flying. Some were fatally wounded, while others were left severely injured.
The soldiers witnessing the carnage exchanged uneasy glances.
"Do you think a rifle will do any good against that thing?"
"Forget the rifle — bring in the heavy artillery!"
A soldier quickly retrieved an RPG from their vehicle and launched it toward the monstrous figure. The missile roared through the air, but as the monster turned, it caught the projectile effortlessly.
The resulting explosion didn't even injure its skin, leaving the creature unharmed. Instead, it roared in fury, now fully focused on the soldiers.
"Fall back!"
The soldiers hastily retreated, but the monster pursued them relentlessly, crushing everything in its path. Cars, barricades, and streetlights were torn apart as if they were paper. Despite their efforts–, the soldiers' vehicle soon became trapped, unable to escape.
The monster stomped towards them, grabbing a nearby car and effortlessly lifting it above its head. With a guttural roar, it hurled the vehicle at the soldiers.
Inside the plane, the monitor displaying the live feed abruptly went black. The room fell into a heavy silence.
The monster stood victorious, roaring into the sky. The sight of the crushed humans beneath its feet further fueled its primal rage.
But then, something unexpected happened.
A lone figure emerged from the distance. Casually dressed, the man appeared unbothered by the destruction around him. In his hand, he held a skewer of grilled meat, calmly taking a bite. The strange scent carried through the air, even reaching the monster's nostrils.
Furious at the interruption, the monster clenched its fists and charged at the man.
At that moment, Li –Yue, the mysterious figure, opened his eyes to the sight of the massive yellow fist hurtling toward him. Without hesitation, he dropped his skewer. His right hand transformed in an instant, reshaping into a gleaming, silver-white round shield — a perfect replica of Captain America's iconic shield.
Boom!
The monster's punch landed with a deafening crash. The sheer force of the impact sent an invisible shockwave rippling through the street, scattering nearby debris. Damaged vehicles were shoved aside as the blast echoed.
The monster remained standing, unfazed by the collision. Li Yue, however, was thrown several meters backward, his feet skidding along the pavement. Twin trails of scorched asphalt marked his path.
(Unlike Captain America's shield, which absorbs kinetic energy because of Vibranium, Li Yue's transformed arm was made of pure Adamantium alloy. Consequently, the impact wasn't softened, and the force sent him flying.)
"Wow, that guy packs a punch," Li Yue muttered, shaking off the numbness in his arm. As his hand reverted to its normal form, his petrified skin gradually returned to its human appearance.
"You insignificant human! You've angered me! I'll tear you to pieces!"
The monster roared, its hatred burning intensely. Dissatisfied with the previous exchange, it clenched its massive fist and charged directly toward Li Yue, who had returned to his normal form.
However, Li Yue was no longer foolish enough to face the attack head-on. Having just arrived in this unfamiliar world, his mental state was unstable, making it difficult to sense his surroundings. In the previous exchange, he could only block the attack using brute force. But now, he had no intention of acting recklessly.
Just as the monster's fist was about to land, it was stunned to find that Li Yue had suddenly disappeared from sight. Before it could react, a sharp pain shot through its back — a sensation it hadn't experienced before.
In a flash, Li Yue had used his powers to teleport directly behind the monster, closing the distance within mere centimeters. His right hand morphed once again — this time into sharp, metallic claws resembling Wolverine's. Without hesitation, he slashed down, carving five deep wounds into the monster's back. Thick yellow fluid oozed from the gashes, creating a grotesque sight.
The monster, an experienced and instinctive fighter, immediately swung a massive punch behind itself. Yet, once again, its attack hit nothing but empty air. Another wave of pain erupted from its back.
The relentless assault continued. Despite its size and strength, the monster couldn't see Li Yue, nor predict where the next attack would come from. With every flash of silver, more wounds appeared, and the creature's enraged roars echoed across the streets.
Unable to bear the torment, the monster devised a strategy. It sprinted toward a nearby building, slamming its back against the solid wall to shield itself from further attacks. Glaring forward, it finally spotted Li Yue, who had reappeared a short distance away.
Blood and yellowish fluid stained the monster's back, revealing exposed bone that once resembled a jagged spine. Despite its grievous injuries, the monster's rage did not subside. Its resilience was terrifying.
"Coward! You won't face me head-on? All you can do is sneak around like a rat!" the monster bellowed, its voice rumbling like thunder.
Li Yue smirked, raising his left hand. His palm shifted and reshaped into a round silver shield. The sight was reminiscent of Captain America's iconic shield, though with a metallic gleam of its own.
"Who's afraid of who? Come at me!" Li Yue taunted, standing his ground.
Enraged, the monster roared once more, raising its massive fist and charging forward with all its strength. However, just as its punch was about to connect, Li Yue vanished once again.
Reappearing mid-air, right next to the monster's arm, Li Yue's hands combined and morphed into a silver-white long sword — three centimeters wide and nearly four feet long. With a powerful downward slash, the blade sliced through the air, severing the monster's right arm in a single strike.
A brilliant silver flash cut through the battlefield. Moments later, the monster's severed arm crashed to the ground with a heavy thud.
Splurt!
A fountain of yellow fluid erupted from the stump, splashing meters away. The monstrous wail that followed was deafening, shattering nearby windows.
Yet, despite his victory, Li Yue's expression did not reflect satisfaction. Instead, a wave of panic gripped him.
He glanced down at his own body, and to his horror, he noticed something alarming — his skin began to take on a grotesque, hardened texture, gradually resembling the monster's appearance.
"No… I don't want to become like that!" Li Yue shouted in terror.
…
Minutes earlier, at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Director Nick Fury was lounging in his chair, casually sipping his coffee. His legs were crossed as he watched the events unfolding in Harlem through a live feed on the monitor in front of him.
The chaos was evident — overturned vehicles, explosions, and terrified civilians running for their lives. Fury's expression remained unreadable, though his mind raced.
Within those few minutes, he had received multiple calls from the government, all demanding immediate intervention. Yet, Fury had refused every single one.
"Why should S.H.I.E.L.D. clean up the military's mess? Let them deal with it. Maybe this disaster will finally convince the council to greenlight the Avengers Initiative," Fury muttered to himself, his signature stoic demeanor intact.
Knock, knock.
A series of knocks echoed through the room.
"Come in," Fury commanded, quickly straightening his posture and setting down his coffee. His expression remained blank.
Agent Coulson entered, his face unusually tense.
"Director, we have a situation," Coulson began without hesitation.
"Let me guess — the government wants us to step in. Or is it the military?" Fury responded dryly, still focused on the screen.
"Neither. This just came in from our field agents. I think you'll want to see it," Coulson said, handing Fury a tablet.
The moment Fury glanced at the screen, his calm demeanor cracked. His eye widened slightly, the only visible expression of his surprise.
"Li Yue…" Fury murmured, recognizing the figure on the screen — a man S.H.I.E.L.D. had spent months searching for without success.
In less than a minute, Nick Fury confirmed that the man fighting the massive yellow monster on the video was indeed Li Yue, the one who had been missing for months. Without hesitation, Fury grabbed his phone and dialed a number, but the call was quickly declined. Unbothered, he called again.
"Nick Fury, are you calling to recruit your 'band members' again? Didn't I already reject your offer?"
The voice on the other end was unmistakably Tony Stark — smug and sarcastic as always.
"Stark, are you aware of what's happening in Harlem right now?" Fury asked, ignoring Tony's tone.
"Of course, I know. Jarvis informed me as soon as it started. Even Rhodey called me for backup, but I refused. I'm not cleaning up the military's mess. And if you're calling for the same reason, save it. I'm not getting involved," Tony shot back, speaking in rapid-fire.
Fury frowned slightly but maintained his composure. "Actually, I called to inform you that we've just confirmed Li Yue's presence at the scene. But if you're not interested, I'll find someone else."
There was a brief pause before Tony's voice broke through again, this time filled with urgency.
"Jarvis, get the suit ready!"
A small, amused smile tugged at Fury's lips. Coulson, standing nearby, observed the exchange and couldn't shake the feeling that Fury had orchestrated this entire conversation.
Meanwhile, Li Yue was struggling to suppress the strange mutations surging through his body. He refused to become a monstrous being like the one before him. Every cell screamed for transformation, but he fought against it with all his will.
The monster, writhing in pain from its severed arm, was in a blind rage. It smashed everything in its path, sending vehicles flying and shattering concrete. Fortunately, the –surrounding civilians had evacuated, preventing further casualties.
Li Yue took a deep breath, steadying himself. He needed to end this fight quickly.
As the monster hurled a car through the air, Li Yue seized the opportunity. In an instant, he vanished and reappeared directly in front of the beast. His left hand morphed into a sleek, thin sword, just over a centimeter wide. With precise speed, he drove the blade into the monster's chest. –The weapon pierced through its thick skin and protruded from its back.
The monster staggered, caught off guard. Though it instinctively swung a fist at Li Yue, the blow was rushed and weak. Li Yue's right hand swiftly transformed into a shield, absorbing the impact and using the momentum to propel himself backward, away from the beast.
When he landed, Li Yue's left hand shifted back to its normal form, but a foul yellow liquid coated his palm. Grimacing in disgust, he frantically wiped it off, desperate to rid himself of the grotesque substance.
"Ugh, that's beyond disgusting," he muttered, his stomach churning.
Once he finished cleaning his hand, Li Yue turned his gaze back to the monster, only to freeze in shock. Despite the fatal blow, the monster still stood. Its chest wound no longer bled, and the severed arm's stump showed rapid signs of healing.
"Seriously? I stabbed you through the heart!" Li Yue exclaimed, equal –parts frustrated and impressed.
The monster's terrifying regenerative ability was nothing short of astonishing. Even its mangled spine began to regenerate, making it clear that conventional attacks weren't enough.
"Okay, round two it is," Li Yue said, steeling himself for another strike. He knew he had to finish it swiftly before the unsettling mutations in his own body progressed further.
This time, the monster was cautious. It didn't lash out recklessly. Instead, it locked its eyes on Li Yue, preparing for any sudden moves. The tension between them thickened as they stood, staring each other down.
Minutes passed in uneasy silence until a sudden, thunderous crash erupted behind the monster.
Startled, the monster turned to see a massive hole in the ground. Panic flickered across its face as it tried to react, but it was too late.
Seizing the moment, Li Yue teleported into the air, positioning himself directly behind the distracted beast. His right hand once again morphed into a broad silver sword — shorter this time but thick and razor-sharp. With a powerful swing, he brought the blade down on the monster's neck.
Slash!
The monster's head separated cleanly from its body, crashing to the ground with a loud thud. Its massive body followed, collapsing lifelessly.
Breathing heavily, Li Yue stepped back, allowing the blade in his hand to retract and return to its normal form. Relief washed over him. The threat had finally been eliminated.
"That... was exhausting," he muttered.
But before he could recover, an earth-shaking roar echoed from the massive crater. A large green hand burst from the rubble, clutching the ground with monstrous strength.
With another roar, the figure pulled itself up, revealing its immense, muscular form.
It was the Hulk.
Covered in dirt, the green behemoth stood tall, his muscles pulsing with barely contained rage. His eyes scanned the area, settling on the massive monster's body. Then, they locked onto Li Yue.
Hulk's brow furrowed as confusion flickered in his expression.
What had happened here? Where was the monster he had been called to fight? And who was this man standing next to its corpse?
Li Yue, sensing the tension, felt the weight of Hulk's gaze. The sharp, battle-hardened glare in Hulk's eyes reminded him that the fight wasn't over just yet.
Hulk felt provoked and couldn't hold back a furious roar. Without hesitation, the massive green giant clenched his fists and charged directly at Li Yue.
"What the hell? Are you kidding me? Why are you coming after me?" Li Yue shouted in frustration as he saw Hulk barreling towards him. "I just helped you by defeating your old enemy, and now you want to fight me?"
Despite his complaints, Li Yue didn't dare to face Hulk head-on. Unlike his battle with Abomination, which he had won through speed, teleportation, and sharp secondary Adamantine alloy blades, the Hulk was an entirely different challenge.
Li Yue knew that his attacks wouldn't be enough to bring down the green giant. Hulk's terrifying strength and resilience were unmatched, and as his rage grew, so did his power. Few like Thor, the God of Thunder, was one of the few who could stand against Hulk in combat.
The idea of a full-on fight sent a cold shiver down Li Yue's spine. "Nope, not today!" he thought.
"I can't beat you, so I'll just run for now. Once I get stronger, I'll come back for a rematch," he muttered to himself, readying his powers to teleport away.
But just as Li Yue was about to make his escape, a sudden burst of music echoed from the distance. The iconic hum of repulsors filled the air, and Li Yue immediately recognized what was coming.
Before Hulk's massive fists could connect with him, a red-and-gold figure zoomed past Li Yue with incredible speed.
"Hey, big guy! Time to cool off!"
BOOM!
The impact was explosive. Hulk was sent tumbling through the air, roaring in frustration as he crashed into the ground. Unharmed, but visibly enraged, Hulk's glowing eyes fixed on his attacker.
Tony Stark, clad in his signature Iron Man suit, struck a classic superhero landing — one knee down, fist against the ground.
"Wow, Li Yue, I leave for a few months and suddenly you're in a monster fight club? Your girlfriend's been calling me non-stop, you know. You really should return her calls." Tony's voice, as always, was laced with sarcasm.
Li Yue barely had time to roll his eyes before the inevitable happened.
"Tony, behind you!"
Before Stark could react, Hulk roared and launched a vicious punch. The force of the blow sent Iron Man hurtling through the air. Li Yue swiftly teleported out of the way, avoiding the armored figure that crashed into the street.
"Wow! Strong punch," Tony grunted, quickly stabilizing himself mid-air using his suit's thrusters. "No wonder people don't ask him for hugs."
But Hulk wasn't done. With another thunderous roar, he leaped toward Tony, fists clenched. Tony, however, wasn't one to back down so easily. Using his agility and superior flight capabilities, he evaded Hulk's swings, firing repulsor blasts at the rampaging green giant.
Unfortunately, the blasts barely seemed to faze Hulk. His monstrous body endured the attacks without much effect, his anger continuing to build.
Li Yue, watching from the side, sat back with a sigh. In –one hand, he suddenly held a bag of sunflower seeds. Munching calmly, he relished the scene like a spectator enjoying a live-action movie.
"Who knew having superpowers would come with perks like this?" he chuckled.
Minutes passed, and despite the destruction caused, neither Tony nor Hulk seemed to have gained the upper hand. Hulk's skin bore a few scorch marks from Tony's repulsors, but his wounds healed almost instantly. Meanwhile, Tony's suit showed visible signs of damage.
"Jarvis, initiate F-HK2," Tony commanded, preparing to deploy his most powerful combat armor.
But before the sequence could complete, Li Yue suddenly stood up, dusted off his clothes, and walked over.
Without a word, he placed a hand on Tony's shoulder.
"Wait, what—"
Before Tony could finish, Li Yue teleported the two of them out of the battlefield.
"Jarvis, cancel the deployment," Tony said reluctantly, realizing that the fight had ended for now.
Back on the streets of Harlem, Hulk roared once more, frustrated that his opponents had vanished. The ground shook beneath his feet as his rage echoed through the city.
But soon, the sound of helicopter blades filled the air. The military had arrived.
The large helicopter hovered in front of Hulk, and from within it, General Ross emerged, stern and commanding. Beside him stood his daughter, Betty Ross.
"Banner, it's okay now," Betty called out, her voice trembling with emotion.
The sight of Betty calmed Hulk slightly. His monstrous expression softened, and his massive hands twitched as if unsure of how to act.
Tears welled up in Betty's eyes as she stepped forward. "It's over."
Hulk, still panting heavily, looked at her with sorrow and uncertainty. He wanted to reach out and comfort her, but as he glanced at his enormous hands, he hesitated, realizing how monstrous he had become.
Yet despite his appearance, Betty's eyes were filled with nothing but concern and compassion.
And for the first time in what felt like forever, the Hulk felt something other than anger.
At this moment, the supporting police and soldiers surrounded Hulk, their weapons drawn but not fired. The bright lights from the helicopters above illuminated the scene, casting a stark glow on the giant green figure.
Hulk stood his ground, his chest heaving as he scanned the crowd of anxious soldiers. But his gaze soon shifted to Betty, who stood among them, her tear-filled eyes locked onto his.
For a moment, a silent understanding passed between them. Despite the chaos, Betty's presence seemed to soothe the raging storm within him.
General Ross, observing the situation, gave a subtle wave to the soldiers, signaling them to stand down. The men lowered their guns, maintaining their cautious distance.
Hulk, still breathing heavily, made his decision. He glanced at Betty one last time, his face torn with conflicted emotions. Then, with a powerful leap, he soared onto the roof of a nearby building. In a series of swift, powerful jumps, Hulk disappeared into the night, vanishing from view.
General Ross grimly watched the scene, his stern expression unchanged. Behind him, the grotesque corpse of Abomination lay motionless, surrounded by stunned soldiers.
Meanwhile, Li Yue and Tony Stark had returned to Tony's luxurious villa. Jarvis, Tony's AI assistant, carefully assisted him in removing the damaged Iron Man suit.
Li Yue, exhausted from the intense battle, strolled over to the refrigerator. He pulled out a cold can of soda and slumped onto the plush sofa. Although he hadn't exerted his full strength during the fight with Abomination, the constant need to stay alert and focused had left him mentally drained.
Taking a sip, Li Yue let out a satisfied sigh. "Man, that fight was something else. Even with my abilities, I had to stay on my toes to avoid getting squashed like a bug."
Tony, finally free –from the suit, also grabbed a can of soda. He elegantly sat down across from Li Yue, legs crossed, savoring his drink like –it was a glass of fine wine.
"Tony, your suit is as flashy as ever," Li Yue commented, smirking. "But seriously, why do you dress like a billionaire superhero 24/7? Doesn't that get uncomfortable?"
Tony grinned, leaning back into the sofa. "Li Yue, you clearly don't understand the responsibilities of being Iron Man. I'm not just a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist — I'm a global icon. Maintaining a sophisticated, gentlemanly image is part of the gig."
"Yeah, yeah," Li Yue rolled his eyes. "But come on, we're at your villa. No cameras, no press. Just the two of us. Go put on something less obnoxious. Looking at that shiny arc reactor of yours is giving me a headache."
Tony laughed, waving a hand dismissively. "Fine, fine. Give me a minute."
He set his drink on the table and disappeared into his room. Moments later, he returned wearing a comfortable yet clearly expensive casual outfit. Despite the change, the arc reactor on his chest remained visible, now triangular in shape instead of the round design it once had.
"Is that... a new reactor?" Li Yue asked, raising an eyebrow. "And why is it just out in the open? Did your tailor just decide to cut a hole in all your shirts?"
Tony smirked, running a hand over the glowing reactor. "You're looking at a custom design from the world's most renowned fashion house. Functional and fashionable. Though, I'll admit, it cost me a small fortune."
"Yeah, I bet," Li Yue scoffed. "But forget that — what did you mean earlier? You said I disappeared for months? I was only gone for about a week. What's going on?"
Tony's grin faded, replaced by a more serious expression. "Yeah, about that… You may have only spent a week in your little adventure, but on this side, you've been gone for months. We tried tracking you down, but it was like you vanished off the face of the Earth."
Li Yue's brows furrowed in confusion. "That doesn't make any sense. I was in another world for what felt like days, but months passed here?"
Tony shrugged. "Welcome to the wonderful world of interdimensional travel. Time doesn't always sync up the way you'd expect. But hey, at least you're back now. Though, you might want to check in with your girlfriend before she strangles me for not finding you sooner."
Li Yue let out a tired chuckle. "Great. Just what I needed — interdimensional relationship drama."
Tony laughed. "Well, if it makes you feel better, I hear chocolates and flowers are still universal peace offerings."
"Noted," Li Yue replied dryly, downing the rest of his soda.
The two friends sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the tension from the day's events slowly fading away. But deep in Li Yue's mind, the unsettling thought of time manipulation lingered. If the worlds were truly operating on different timelines, what other surprises awaited him in the future?
After Tony finished sharing his thoughts, Li Yue nodded, absorbing the information.
"Yeah, to be precise, it has been five months since you disappeared. Your girlfriend, Louise, came to me almost every day asking for any news about you. I swear, my head was about to explode," Tony said, looking dramatically frustrated.
"Okay, okay, I'll go to her in a moment," Li Yue replied with a small smile. "But first, tell me, has the Stark Industry Fair started yet?"
Li Yue was uncertain about the timeline. According to the movie plot, the events of Iron Man 2 should be unfolding, but his own presence might have caused unpredictable changes.
"No major events, really," Tony said, leaning back with a casual shrug. "After your little hint, I spent ages digging through my dad's stuff. At first, nothing. Until I discovered that my father was actually one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Tony's words surprised Li Yue, even though he already knew this from the original timeline.
"I went straight to Fury to get answers," Tony continued. "Surprisingly, the one-eyed pirate didn't keep anything from me. He handed over all my father's belongings, including a cure for my palladium poisoning."
"So... you knew all along, didn't you? And you just let me waste months trying to figure it out?" Tony narrowed his eyes at Li Yue, though a glimmer of gratitude showed through his frustration.
"Tony," Li Yue responded seriously, "Some things need to be experienced. Only through those challenges will you grow into the man you're meant to be." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "And besides... there are still things you'll understand in time."
Tony didn't argue. "I get it," he said sincerely. "Thanks, Li Yue."
"You're welcome. So, you created the new element, right?" Li Yue asked, gesturing to the triangular arc reactor on Tony's chest.
"Exactly. My dad theorized it, but the technology of his time couldn't make it a reality. Luckily, I could. And now, no more palladium poisoning!" Tony said, tapping the reactor with a sense of pride.
Li Yue shook his head with a grin. "So, apart from this, nothing else major happened?"
Tony puffed up his chest. "Of course not! With Iron Man on the scene, all the bad guys are too afraid to show their faces."
"Yeah, right," Li Yue retorted. "And what about today? Care to explain how that 'great Iron Man' let things get so out of hand?"
Tony coughed awkwardly. "Okay, okay, today was... an exception. The military thought they could handle everything on their own. I wasn't about to clean up their mess."
"Sure," Li Yue smirked. "Anyway, I should check in on Louise."
With that, Li Yue stood, finishing the last sip of his soda before placing the empty can on the table.
"Li Yue, remember to drop by tomorrow," Tony called out. "I've upgraded my suit a few times — you have to see how awesome it is."
Li Yue flashed an OK gesture, and in an instant, he disappeared.
Within seconds, Li Yue reappeared outside Louise's apartment. The familiar sight of the modest doorway made his heart race. For a while, he just paced back and forth, nervously trying to work up the courage to knock.
"How will she react?" Li Yue mumbled to himself. "Will she be happy? Angry? Maybe both?"
Finally, he took a deep breath and raised his hand to knock. But just before his knuckles touched the door, a sharp crashing sound echoed through the air — the distinct sound of glass shattering.
Startled, Li Yue spun around, but the world around him shifted in an instant. The familiar streets seemed to twist and ripple like a distorted painting. Buildings bent unnaturally, as though the very fabric of reality was unraveling.
Before him, a figure emerged. Cloaked in a flowing yellow robe with a hood concealing their face, the mysterious individual made an intricate gesture with their right hand, manipulating the air as the distorted scenery bent to their will.
"Li Yue," the figure's voice rang out, calm yet commanding, "let's discuss your unauthorized entry into this universe."
Li Yue's eyes widened in shock as the hood was pulled back, revealing a stern face.
"Ancient One," he gasped, his voice filled with disbelief. "Why is she here?"
