A heavy silence fell in the lab.
Nobody spoke for some time as they endured the suffocating silence.
It was Lucas who broke the tense atmosphere.
"Vance, do you remember the robots we fought against in Aslan?" Lucas asked, focusing on Vance alone as he was the only one in the lab other than him who had seen the robots at a close distance.
Vance nodded, recalling the nightmare. It still gave him chills when he thought of those killing machines.
He had even woken up from his sleep a few times, his shirt completely drenched. Although the robots had been destroyed, they still haunted him in his dreams.
"Don't you all feel there is some similarity between what Elli has created and what we fought with? Also, the rifles we picked up in Alsan have a similar design structure. Is this a coincidence?"
