Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: The Abyssal Vault

[Floor 6 - Final Chamber] -

The heavy doors groaned as they creaked open, revealing the Abyssal Vault—the last chamber. A vast, darkened expanse filled with swirling shadows and echoes of despair. The air was thick with the stench of decay, and the atmosphere felt oppressive, as if even the dungeon itself was holding its breath in anticipation.

The stone floor was slick with blackened ichor, and eerie, whispering voices seemed to emanate from the walls, speaking in a language forgotten by time. The walls pulsed with dark energy, and twisted, gargantuan roots of corruption seemed to curl up from the floor and disappear into the darkness above. The chamber's ceiling, high and lost in shadow, contained strange, sigils flickering like dying embers.

At the center, a monstrous throne was carved from stone and bone. Perched atop it, a figure loomed—towering and cloaked in tattered, shadowed robes that fluttered like they were alive. The creature's eyes glowed with a cold, malevolent crimson.

The A-rank Demon, known only as The Corruptor, sat in complete silence, resting its massive, spiked, and bloodstained war axe-hammer across its knees. The hammer gleamed with malevolent darkness, the weight of ancient bloodlust hanging on it like an aura. Its skin, charred black like burnt embers, was covered in corrupt markings, seething with pulses of darkness.

A deep, guttural voice rumbled through the room, vibrating the air like a death knell.

The Corruptor:

"I see… the ones chosen by fate have finally come. You carry the stench of the Light, but in the end, you will be mine to consume. Your struggles are in vain."

The Battle Begins

The moment Noah steps forward, the Abyssal Vault trembles, as if the dungeon itself were alive and reacting to the presence of the Demon. He feels it—a deep, crushing pressure pushing down on his chest.

Noah narrows his crimson eyes, the sword at his side igniting with a radiant Azure Blue Flame, and he breathes, his mind already reaching a heightened state.

Noah:

"Let's finish this."

He activates Mind Acceleration. Time around him slows—his senses sharpen, thoughts processing faster. His pulse races as the world becomes a blur, his movements now an instinctual dance of speed and precision.

The Corruptor grins, its voice dripping with mockery.

The Corruptor:

"Foolish children… even time itself bends to my will."

With a mighty swing of its Axe-Hammer, it sends a shockwave of corruptive darkness surging through the ground. "Crimson Eruption"—the hammer's swing tears through the air with a deafening BOOM, and the ground cracks open, spewing dark flames as the shockwave rips toward Noah. The air vibrates with the low rumble of the impact.

Noah reacts instantly, activating Mana Domain, a spherical shield of pure energy expanding around him as the crimson flames scorch the outside of his barrier. The impact ripples across the chamber, but Noah stands unfazed, eyes gleaming with determination.

Noah:

"You'll need more than that."

Noah presses his hands together and mutters a quiet incantation. The very space around the Corruptor warps—Space Distortion—the Demon's surroundings become unstable. The massive demon's movements slow as reality distorts, every step becoming clumsy as if gravity itself turned against him.

The Corruptor snarls.

"Time… space… they bend, yes… but not as I will it!"

With a roar, the Corruptor channels his corrupted energy, his massive axe glowing with a dark, crimson hue. He brings the weapon down hard with "Obsidian Cleaver", a monstrous strike of corrupted energy that splits the very air. The blade cuts through the space Noah had just vacated, leaving an afterimage of darkness that lingers in the air like smoke.

Noah is ready. His blade flicks in a blur, using Phantom Edge, the slash breaking through the air with perfect precision, slicing the energy into oblivion.

Meanwhile, Scarlett moves like a shadow. Her Silent Gale strikes, appearing beside the Demon in an instant, launching into her Eclipse Spin, her daggers shimmering with ethereal light. The Demon recoils as each dagger cuts through the corrupted armor on its chest, leaving brief flashes of violet and black sparks in the air.

Scarlett:

"Not bad… but still too slow!"

Lyra, standing far off, summons her Frost Lance, the tip of her weapon glowing a frigid blue. With a swift motion, she thrusts it forward, unleashing Blizzard's Wrath—a blinding storm of ice and snow erupts in front of the Demon, freezing the floor beneath its feet and slowing its movements. Ice shards rain down, embedding themselves into the Demon's corrupted flesh.

Lyra:

"Stay still, you monstrosity."

Layla, sensing an opening, vanishes into shadow with Shadow Bind. She reappears behind the Demon, her Wraith's Scythe Art – Reaper's Slash cutting through the very air. The slash leaves a trail of dark energy in its wake, striking the Corruptor across its back.

Layla:

"No escape, Demon."

The Corruptor's Counterattack

The Demon staggers under the blows, yet it grins maliciously, its body writhing with dark energy, healing and regenerating at a rapid pace, as though the blows never even landed.

The Corruptor:

"You think you can defeat me with such small tricks? I am beyond your reach."

With a booming snarl, the Corruptor slams the Axe-Hammer into the ground with a massive "Corruption Torrent", sending waves of black liquid corruption flooding outward. The sludge burns through the stone like acid, creeping toward the group, threatening to consume them all.

Noah:

"Get out of the way!"

He thrusts his sword into the ground, calling upon Dark Cataclysm—a vortex of pure destructive energy erupts, pulling the corrupt liquid into itself, erasing the waves before they can reach anyone.

Noah:

"Enough. Time to end this."

The Final Blow

Noah channels all his power into a single attack. With his Time Delay, he manipulates the flow of time, accelerating his strikes to an impossible speed, his sword flashing in a blinding arc.

He moves faster than the eye can see. Gale Dance and Shadow Strike meld into one as his blade strikes through the Corruptor's defenses, cutting through its corrupted flesh with the precision of a thousand blades.

The Demon bellows in rage and pain, but it cannot react in time.

Finally, Noah swings the Azure Blue Flame through the creature's chest, obliterating the heart and releasing a burst of dark, shrieking energy. The flame burns through the Demon's corrupted body, disintegrating it from the inside out.

The Corruptor's screams fade as the Axe-Hammer clatters to the ground, the body collapsing into a pile of dark ash.

The Aftermath:

The chamber falls silent. The oppressive atmosphere dissipates as the Demon is no more. A faint light pulses from the center of the room, and the once-stifling air becomes breathable again. The party stands victorious, but exhausted.

Noah wipes the sweat from his brow, the echoes of the fight still ringing in his ears.

Noah:

"We did it. Let's claim the reward and go back."
