Chapter 283 - Chapter 283: The Sea God Who Knows His Place

"He's just an ordinary person, enrolled at Blue Tyrant Academy..."

The Slaughter King was explaining Dan Heng's background.

Bibi Dong nodded slightly. "I see. Then why do you want to kill him?"

The Slaughter King replied coldly, "Does this king need a reason to kill someone? As long as you kill him, then we can continue our cooperation."

Bibi Dong suddenly stood up and slowly descended the stairs.

"Since you're already here, why don't you do it yourself? Why rely on our Spirit Hall's power?"

The Slaughter King frowned, looking at her in confusion.

Based on his understanding of this venomous woman, why was she hesitating over something as trivial as killing one man?

"I can't be bothered to find out where he is. Just say whether you're willing or not…"

He hadn't finished speaking when his expression suddenly changed dramatically.

Bibi Dong struck without warning. Behind her appeared the phantom of the Death Spider Emperor; its twin spider spears crossed and slashed forward in a vicious attack.

Nine soul rings pulsed around her.

A powerful and tyrannical aura instantly enveloped the Slaughter King.

"!!!"

The Slaughter King hurriedly dodged to the right, but his shoulder was still hit, sending him rolling across the floor several times.

The one thing that could neutralize his Killing God Domain—was Bibi Dong.

Now, she had chosen to attack him.

Not to mention that he was already weaker than Bibi Dong to begin with, and now he was severely injured!

"Bibi Dong! Are you insane?" the Slaughter King roared in shock and fury.

Bibi Dong's face was cold as she gritted her teeth. "Dan Heng is my lover! You dare plot against the man I love? Then you must die!"

With that, she lunged at the Slaughter King again.

Multiple soul skills erupted at once, all targeting him.

BOOM BOOM BOOM—!!!

The Slaughter King didn't even have time to fight back—he just wanted to escape!

Fighting Bibi Dong here would be a death sentence!

Her attacks shattered several columns; the entire Spirit Hall trembled from the force.

Amid the smoke and debris, the Slaughter King smashed through a window and fled in panic.

Bibi Dong turned into a streak of purple light and pursued him directly.

"You will die, no doubt about it!"

Two figures soared into the sky above Heaven Dou City.

Bibi Dong showed no regard for collateral damage—her barrage of attacks was wild, frenzied, and determined to kill the Slaughter King.

He didn't even dare to look back, cursing the madwoman inwardly while forcing his body to the limit.

Narrowly escaping with his life, he finally found an opportunity to flee.

In a tree somewhere in Sunset Forest—

The Slaughter King sat bloodied, his body riddled with wounds, some of which emitted a strange purple aura.

Bibi Dong's attacks were not only powerful—but poisonous!

Fortunately, he was currently using Tang Chen's body. Otherwise, he likely wouldn't have survived.

"Bibi Dong… that crazy woman! One day—I swear—I will kill you!" the Slaughter King growled through clenched teeth, his voice growing weaker.

He could no longer suppress Tang Chen.

And only Tang Chen could fully control this body—if he didn't take over, the Slaughter King would just slowly waste away.

The red light in his eyes gradually faded, and his appearance changed visibly—at the very least, the red markings on his face disappeared.

Tang Chen had returned.

Before he could even rejoice, a sharp pain suddenly wracked his body.

He clenched his jaw to keep from crying out.

"That damned beast! No wonder I was able to regain control—it was because he was on the verge of death!"

Tang Chen nearly died from rage.

He was one of the Three Peerless Beings of the Douluo Continent, and yet he had been abused and used by that beastly parasite.

Now, he was gravely wounded, barely clinging to life.

"I must begin recovery immediately, suppress the injuries, and find a way to completely drive that beast out…"

He sat down to meditate, circulating his soul power to expel the toxins from his body.

Soon, a familiar soul power fluctuation appeared.

Tang Chen opened his eyes at once and looked deep into the Sunset Forest.

Surprise flashed in his gaze. "That… that soul power… could it be Bo Saixi? Did she really come here? Could she be chasing after me?"

Thinking of this, Tang Chen gritted his teeth, forced his injured body to rise, and vanished toward the direction of the soul power.

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Headquarters—

Liu Erlong was still loudly mocking and insulting Sea God Poseidon.

She practically wanted to beat Poseidon to a pulp right then and there.

The clan elders, including Yu Yuanzhen, looked terrified—almost ready to fall to their knees before her.

Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang was secretly gloating:

"With Liu Erlong insulting the Sea God like this, her divine inheritance is finished! Doesn't appreciate the blessing! If it were me, I'd have become a god by now!"

He genuinely believed this—not only from confidence in his intellect but also because he knew the Divine Trials rewarded participants with boosts to soul power, soul rings, and even martial spirit quality!

"What's there to be afraid of? Even if that Sea God appeared in person, I'd still curse him to his face! Asking me to do that with Dan Heng even though he has a wife? Shameless! He's clearly just jealous! Maybe even his goddess has feelings for Mr. Dan Heng!"

Liu Erlong shouted defiantly.

That last line completely shattered Poseidon's composure, who was secretly listening nearby.

Because… it was true.

His goddess did love Dan Heng—even to her final breath, she wished to pass that love through her bloodline.

Poseidon couldn't stand it anymore—he suddenly appeared.

Though still just an avatar, he entered the room.

"Such arrogant words! How dare someone speak with such disrespect to the gods in my presence?!"

Poseidon pointed at Liu Erlong angrily.

Yu Yuanzhen and the others looked confused. Who is this guy?

Liu Erlong sneered, "Who the hell are you to meddle in my business?"

Poseidon's face turned red. He was brash by nature, but Liu Erlong was outright savage!

"You're mad at me for insulting the Sea God? What's it to you? And how did you get in here? Did you break in? Sneak in? Are you spying? Trying to assassinate someone?"

Liu Erlong pressed him, her fury inexplicably rising.

"???" Poseidon was dumbfounded.

Wasn't I supposed to be intimidating them? Making them realize how unreasonable she's being?

How did it end up with me being interrogated like I'm the criminal?

"Friend, we'd best clear up any misunderstandings," said Yu Yuanzhen cautiously. "Guests are guests, but entering unannounced…"

The others stared coldly at Poseidon as well.

"..."

Poseidon took a couple of steps back. Realizing the situation, he suddenly unleashed Title Douluo-level pressure, enveloping everyone.

"BOOM!"

Yu Xiaogang, the weakest, crumpled to his knees instantly.

"What? I was just watching! Why am I the one getting punished?!"

The clan elders all turned pale—clearly no match for this power.

Liu Erlong remained defiant, but she knew she was no match.

She took a few steps back, glaring at the mysterious man.

His face was plain, but his eyes were ocean blue.

"I heard everything outside! You say now… All of you went to the sacred Sea God Island and received divine trials. So many people had to suffer unbelievably difficult tests. Some couldn't even pass."

"And you—was it even hard? What's the big deal about a kiss? You could've just apologized afterward! It's not like Dan Heng would kill you—he might even feel flattered!"

Poseidon tried to reason with her.

Liu Erlong's face changed immediately. "Shut up, you bastard! How dare you slander Mr. Dan Heng?! Even if I die, I'll never let him be humiliated because of me!"

Her soul power surged as she prepared to attack Poseidon.

Poseidon sneered inwardly. Even as just an avatar, he was no weakling—mere Title Douluos couldn't threaten him!

"If you won't listen to reason, then I—"

"BANG!!"

Suddenly, Liu Erlong punched him right in the stomach.

Poseidon doubled over like a shrimp, his face contorted in pain.

"If you dare slander Mr. Dan Heng again, I'll blow your head off!" Liu Erlong shouted angrily.

Poseidon hunched over, stunned.

What the hell? How could a mere mortal, even one chosen as a divine successor, hurt me like this?

He began to question reality.

Then Liu Erlong looked over his shoulder, cheeks flushed, brushed her hair back and said:

"Mr. Dan Heng, don't listen to his nonsense. I would never do something so shameless."

"I know."

A voice rang out.

Seagod Poseidon suddenly turned around, only to see Dan Heng standing behind him.

Instantly, a wave of panic washed over him.

His body instinctively tried to run, but… he couldn't move!

No wonder he'd just been injured by Liu Erlong — it had actually been Dan Heng who struck!

This was bad — he had been caught red-handed by Dan Heng.

"So this is Mister Dan Heng? As expected, an outstanding man. Now that I've taken a punch from you, I finally realize just how wrong my previous thoughts were."

Poseidon immediately changed his tone and attitude.

Being beaten by Liu Erlong was one thing — at worst it was just some physical pain.

But now that he was in Dan Heng's hands… if this man decided to use him as a punching bag, things could get really ugly!

Dan Heng gave him a calm glance and asked:

"So now you also think the Seagod's Divine Trial is a mistake?"

Poseidon straightened up and declared righteously:"Of course! That was pure nonsense! I believe the Seagod himself would see the error of his ways and stop heading down the wrong path!"

"At least you know your place," Liu Erlong sneered, arms crossed.

"…" Poseidon looked at Dan Heng, pleading with his eyes.

Whether or not he would be spared — that all depended on Dan Heng.

Dan Heng thought for a moment. If he wanted to really teach Poseidon a lesson, he'd need to find a better place — and he still had to get home before sunset...

So—

"Behave yourself." Dan Heng lightly patted Poseidon's back.

Poseidon's entire back was soaked in cold sweat. Hearing this, he smiled and nodded repeatedly, "Only now do I realize how foolish I was to meddle in other people's affairs. Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll be going now. No need to see me off!"

He laughed nervously and quickly left the room.

Everyone stared dumbfounded at Poseidon's retreating figure.

It was like he had become a completely different person.

Could it be that the one who had just subdued them all with his oppressive aura... was only an illusion?

Yu Xiaogang got up from the floor, rubbing his knees.

He felt like they were about to snap — he looked miserable.

Why was he always the unluckiest one?

"Mister Dan Heng, I'll walk you out," Liu Erlong quickly offered, knowing that Dan Heng would be leaving soon.

Dan Heng nodded and stepped out first.

Liu Erlong followed behind, her eyes flickering with thoughts.

Now she had a good guess about the identity of that mysterious man and realized the real reason Dan Heng had come.

To be able to talk to a god like that?

Dan Heng had even more mystery about him now...

At first, Liu Erlong had thought Dan Heng was just an academic like Yu Xiaogang. Later, she realized Dan Heng was far more talented.

Then, when compared to someone like Yu Xiaogang, Dan Heng's excellence stood out even more.

She had naturally developed feelings for Dan Heng.

And now, even though she had already idealized him as much as she could — she was still surprised by him yet again.

"Thank you… Mister Dan Heng," Liu Erlong whispered as they walked out.

Dan Heng didn't respond. He only looked far into the distance — toward the Seagod Tower.

There, thirteen gods had left behind their legacies, but only one god still guarded it.

With the others being neglectful, it was likely that some vicious soul beasts would seize the opportunity.

Dan Heng shook his head. He wasn't planning to get personally involved.

The two of them continued walking, about to leave the Sunset Forest.

Then a voice rang out.

"To think I'd run into Mister Dan Heng here — what a coincidence."

A silver-haired woman descended from the sky.

It was Poseisi, the Grand Priestess of Seagod Island.

Beside her stood a tall, dignified man — Qian Daoliu, the Grand Worshipper of the Spirit Hall.

Liu Erlong stepped forward, guarding against the two newcomers.

Dan Heng gave a small nod — a polite greeting.

Poseisi glanced at Liu Erlong, her eyes complex, and said,"I just sensed the presence of Lord Seagod, so I came rushing over — I didn't expect to meet Mister Dan Heng along the way."

"Then we won't disturb you," Dan Heng nodded again.

"But now, Lord Seagod's presence has already vanished... Mister Dan Heng, I've actually been hoping to meet with you for a while, but didn't know when you'd be free. Now that we've met by chance, might we find somewhere to talk?"

Poseisi asked gracefully.

Qian Daoliu nodded in agreement,"Indeed, Poseisi has mentioned Mister Dan Heng to me before..."

For Poseisi, he was willing to do anything.

If she wanted to talk to Dan Heng, then he would do his best to support her!

Dan Heng declined, "I'm in a hurry to get home."

Poseisi went along with it without resistance,"Then we'll talk while walking."

"…"

Qian Daoliu blinked. Suddenly, he realized — wasn't Poseisi being a bit too accommodating to Dan Heng?

Even he had never been treated this way!

Meanwhile, in secret—

Tang Chen stood on a tree branch, watching the four walk off together, frowning slightly.

"Why is Poseidon with Qian Daoliu? And that man… who is he?"
