Sarah widened her eyes and grabbed her blanket so she could pull up and sit instead of lying down. It wasn't the kind of story she could just listen to while lying around.
"She knew she was sick and didn't have a long time left," Hajin continued nonchalantly, but there was a hint of bitterness in his dry voice. "Rather than trying to get treatment there, she flew here to see him for the last time--not to meet, just to see him from afar with her own eyes."
"Oh..." Sarah bit her lip, her hand finding Hajin's unconsciously. "Was that why you were on a bad term with her?"
"Yeah," Hajin looked down with a smile, rubbing the hand that was holding his. "When she woke up after the surgery, I told her I finally understood," he chuckled. "I don't condone the affair she had, but I know what it felt like to be enslaved by one's feelings."
