As Hou and Mo Huai were talking they were actually walking to a certain inn that was mentioned in the map pill they took. Hou had trailed Mo Huai, mentally cross-referencing the map. They were headed to the Dragon's Den, one of many establishments bearing dragon motifs, no doubt due to the Heavenly Space Dragon's influence.
When they finished their conversation about before, Mo Huai adjusted his hair pin, and in that motion deactivated the privacy bubble. Hou noticed the change in outside noise levels and presumed that privacy was no longer secured, he noted it and reminded himself to call Mo Huai as Zhao Ritian.
They came upon the Dragon's Den, completely unremarkable, green shingles, grey stone walls, a second-floor balcony where patrons drank under the open sky of the darkening day. Mo Huai opened the door, it creaked open, releasing a wave of spiced alcohol and simmering meat from the inner rooms. Hou followed in and heard that even in the reception room, laughter clattered from the balcony above. They walked over to the front desk, and Mo Huao leant on it, looking at the clerk flirtatiously. He spoke,
"Can I have a double room, and a Clean Body Pill if you have any?"
Hou saw the lady and his ears burned up, he thought she looked even prettier than Yun Cha. She saw this and smiled before turning back to look at Mo Huai.
The clerk flushed, she had seen many such young masters. They were of various different families from big to small, all arrogant. She had learnt that if she didn't entertain their flirting it would only cause more trouble. That's why she bought a technique after saving up her wages. The technique she bought was called Red Heat Flush. It used heat laws and colour laws to imitate a blushing reaction. This was a body cultivation technique which meant that it was relatively safe. She did this to any young master so they wouldn't focus on getting a reaction out of her.
"Yes young master, and will the young scholar be staying with you?"
Mo Huai leaned closer, his grin growing as he noted the clerk's practiced flush,
'A technique, clever girl.'
"Yes he will, unless you want to switch with him?"
"I will have to decline sadly, would you like just one Clean Body Pill, or does the scholar need one too?"
Mo Huai rocked his head to the side as if he was thinking and then slammed his fist in the desk,
"Yeah do two, how much will that be?"
"Four silver and five copper. If that's all, I'll go get your room token."
Mo Huai deftly grabbed the required coins out of his satchel. He put down five silver coins and winked at the clerk. She took the coins with a smile and turned around.
'Coins, not tokens. Just an above average ordinary family, likely not real cultivators. The flirtatious young master was predictable but that young scholar, his blush wasn't a technique like mine. I better tease him before he goes.'
The clerk went to the back and picked up a small wooden token on a ring. On the token was a word written in that language that one could understand without any knowledge 'room 6'.
Hou waited as the lady got the token and looked around the inn. It was a nicely lit room with plants adorning the walls.
"Here you go! I'll come up to give you your Clean Body Pills in an hour." The clerk returned and held out the token.
Mo Huai did not take the token but instead turned to leave the reception room,
"Daizi, you take the token!" He shouted back.
Hou shook his head and stepped forward to take the token from the lady, as he did he felt wrong for Mo Huai's fake attitude and spoke,
"I apologise for Zhao's attitude. What is your name?"
"My name is Xiao Ye, but you can call me Xiao Xiao if you want" the lady chuckled and covered her mouth, she enjoyed teasing inexperienced boys.
Hou was inexperienced with romance so at this his whole face blushed naturally, this was only exacerbated by his Celestial Law Amplifying Physique which caused his skin to be slightly more transparent. The transformation was extremely realistic and so even his galaxy-like blood was turned red again; his blush looked normal to Xiao Ye. This only made Xiao Ye laugh even more genuinely.
"Xiao...Xiao Xiao, again I apologise. Bye!" Hou held his book in both hands and walked to catch up to Mo Huai swiftly.
Xiao Ye smiled and shook her head as he left the room running,
'Such a cute little scholar, did he forget I'll see him in a hour?'
When he reunited with Mo Huai his face was flushed red which caused Mo Huai to tease Hou,
"Seems like you really like that reception lady..."
"Xiao Ye" Hou whispered under his breath.
"What was that?" Mo Huai was delighted at bonding with his disciple and took the opportunity to tease him.
"I said her name is Xiao Ye. Can we just go to the room!" Hou looked down at the token and read it aloud,
"Room 6!"
Mo Huai laughed a little and ruffled Hou's scholarly hat, pushing it down. Hou followed behind Mo Huai with his face even redder than before. They found their room and opened it up. It was a fairly large room with one main room and a small toilet in a separate room.
In the main room, there was a table and two beds separated by a small bedside table. Mo Huai walked around the edge of the room and traced the wall with his finger. He let out a web of miasma like a spider, once it covered the room it grew and then assimilated with the wall, turning invisible.
"Now we're safe, no need to act."
Mo Huai undid his transformation and felt freedom from the mental energy burden. Hou noticed this and undid his transformation, shrinking down and returning to his white robe with golden symbols.
"So what do we do now?" Hou asked the question, covering for his red face still.
Mo Huai looked at Hou's blush and turned his head,
"Enough distractions. The inheritances have delayed your training, but the foundation of cultivation isn't patience, it's understanding. Sit down and we'll go back to basics."
Hou nodded and sat on the floor. He then looked up at Mo Huai, his blush totally gone. His excitement over women overpowered by his love for growing stronger and his ultimate purpose. Mo Huai sat down opposite Hou and begun his lesson,
"Last time we were learning about alchemy, but you saw how that went. Now the basics again, laws and mental energy."
"I'm ready" Hou nodded heavily.
"Firstly, how do laws work? How does body cultivation create an effect without using up the laws?"
