Murim's hand held a cloth, tainted with the sickly sweet scent of a potent drug.
"W-what are you doing here?" I wanted to look at Bezof but I didn't dare look away from Murim.
He smirked, "What? You thought you'd be safe living in the middle of the forest?"
"..." Of course I did, not anyone can reach the pack! It should be a safe place. So how did he come here? Just how did he find out? No normal person would think about going to a dense forest to find someone.
"I can tell your mind is racing," He stepped closer to me and I automatically stepped back, "Why would someone think about coming to the forest?" He had this expression on his face as if he knew he had one, "All I had to do was follow your mother,"
!!!
My eyes went wide and goosebumps made my skin stand up but at the same time, I felt dizzy as well. Like my mind was blurring.
Right… That was all he had to do,
I gulped, "Where's my mom?" I gathered the courage to speak more confidently, "What did you do to her?"
He shrugged, "What do you think?" He reached for his pocket and fished out a phone. A very familiar looking phone.
!!!
It was Mom's phone!
"I couldn't find the place you were staying, but lucky for me you fell for the texts and came to me on your own." My heart pounded in my chest in fear.
"What did you do to my mother!!" Anger was boiling in me, "Why do you have her phone!!?"
He glanced at Bezof, then back at me, "Does that matter?" He asked, "It doesn't matter at all."
"It does!!"
"It doesn't," He started walking towards me, "Not when you'll be dead soon,"
!!!
Fear engulfed my mind. Desperation fueled my fight-or-flight response. I stumbled backward, heart racing, as he advanced with malicious intent. Every fiber of my being screamed for escape, but the dense forest seemed to close in around me.
As he lunged forward, the cloth aimed for my face, a surge of primal fear gripped me. I swerved, narrowly avoiding the initial contact. Adrenaline surged, my instincts kicking into overdrive. I could feel the drug-laden cloth graze my skin, a sickening reminder of the imminent danger.
I darted through the underbrush, weaving between trees like a hunted prey.
He followed, "You can't outrun me!"
I didn't dare look back. I darted full speed ahead. His pursuit was relentless, and I could feel something was wrong with me. Each breath felt heavy but surrender wasn't an option. I can't just give in here.
I can't! I have to get away!!
But then my vision got blurred and I finally realized what was happening.
The drug's effects lingered in my body and were ready to overwhelm my senses. Murim had managed to make me sniff quite a bit from that cloth when he initially attacked me.
I gulped, shook my head and told myself I had to keep going.
I just have to make it back to the pack!
My heart dropped.
Back to the pack? But what way is it back?
My movements became sluggish, limbs heavy with resistance. But the survival instinct burned bright, and I fought against the encroaching darkness.
Unfortunately just my will to get away wasn't enough. The forest blurred as I stumbled forward, the world tilting on its axis as the fog in my mind took over.
The ground beneath me seemed to shift, tree roots becoming sinister obstacles as they tangled beneath my unsteady feet. A wave of dizziness swept over me, distorting the landscape into a surreal dreamscape. I fought against the drug-induced weariness, determined not to succumb to its clutches.
The forest floor rose to meet me with an unforgiving embrace. The impact reverberated through my body, jolting me into a harsh reality.
NO!!!
My hands instinctively reached out, grasping for anything to break my fall, but the drug's numbing grip made my movements imprecise. Leaves crunched beneath me as I landed, the sensation accompanied by a disoriented sense of surrender.
The forest floor felt cool against my cheek as I lay there, the world spinning in a disconcerting blur.
That's when I felt him come and stand over me, "You've always been a good runner, Clio-" He paused, "Ah, wait," He smirked as he crouched down over me, "Calliope," He still had the white cloth in his hand.
"Go away," I tried to move but he grabbed my neck and pushed me into the ground.
"It always bothered me," He glared at me, "I knew you weren't what you were pretending to be."
I breathed heavily,"So even after finding out you've been abusing a girl you have no remorse." My voice had dimmed.
"There's no need for remorse, nothing bad would have happened if you went to Uncle Silas as a kid."
His words made me angry. Nothing bad would have happened? What the hell!?!? Why would he want to take a child away from her family! That's bad to start with!!!
"Your uncle is a pedophile!" I seethed the anger out from between my teeth.
My statement pissed him off, "This is why you're an idiot," He let out a sarcastic sigh.
"Idiot? Me? Your uncle wanted a child!" I kept the blade pointed at him, "That makes him a creep."
"He wanted to adopt you," He answered rather calmly but I was still able to sense the anger in his tone.
…
"What?" The thought had never crossed my mind.
Adoption? Silas wanted to take me in as a daughter?
"And I always hated that he wanted you when I was just like his child as well." The reason he held so much hate for me was finally out in the open.
He never liked me and his contempt for me only ever grew over the years.
"It still doesn't make sense, neither is it-" I couldn't complete my words as he pressed the cloth on my mouth again, forcefully causing me to inhale the drug.
"Shut up," He seemed disappointed, "I hate the very sound of your voice,"
It didn't take me long to get the world spinning, then darkening and soon enough I passed out.

Entering the penthouse was no trouble for me. Scaling buildings is something I've done often, especially as a kid.
And not being human helped a lot, along with it being night.
I drew no attention as I climbed up in the darkness. My claws helped as I made my way to the very top.
If I was going to put an end to this, I had to make sure to leave no evidence behind. The Somas are a big family and going against them can cause too much trouble. Giving them time would cause too much trouble.
I know well enough that if the Somas wanted they could even find out we're wolves.
I reached the top, before landing on the terrace, I scanned the area with the help of my wolf, looking far into the night.
There was only one guard on the terrace. I smirked. I guess a human wouldn't think that someone can scale such a long building in such a short time.
I landed on the terrace, swiftly made my way to the guard before he could even get the chance to notice me and snapped his neck from behind.
I dropped the body there and looked at the entrance.
This is going to be easy.

Silas was sitting in his penthouse bar.
I made sure to make some noise as I approached him so he would notice. Sitting on the bar stool, the rattling sound made him turn around and his eyes went wide.
"You?" He then shot his head around, unsure how I managed to get here. But he calmed down pretty fast and looked back at me with a confident gaze.
A simmering rage burned within me. His air of superiority grated on my nerves, and I was determined to shatter that illusion.
As I reached him, I could practically taste the arrogance that surrounded him, seated nonchalantly in his chair. With a swift and deliberate motion, I seized the neck of his smug demeanor, effortlessly hoisting him into the air. The surprise in his eyes was a fleeting moment of vulnerability.
"You can't kill me," He said, "I don't know how you managed to get here without getting caught but do you think you can get away the same way?"
I smirked, "You'll see, Ah-" I gripped his neck tighter, "You won't be alive to do that."
His feet dangled helplessly as I held him aloft, the room now pulsating with an inverted power dynamic.
"You new thugs seem to have your heads in the cloud,"
"I'm sure you're the one there, might even reach it in literal terms now."
He watched in stunned silence, "Quite a cocky one," His hands reached for mine that held him in the air.
A surge of determination flooded my veins, my grip unyielding as I maintained control. The enemy squirmed, his struggles futile against the strength that held him captive.
"You think if I haven't told the other family members, they'll never find out?"
"How will they find out when there's no one left to tell them?"
He laughed, "Even if you kill me, they'll know. We're a big family." He looked down at me, his eyes still full of superiority, "And I'm not the only one who knows, kill me, and you become enemies with the whole Soma family."
