"It seems that I am not the only one here."
I saw a few people who were lining up near a building.
"If you are here for your fortune telling, get in line." A pink ghost alien said to me.
"Ok." I replied as I watched one person after another wlaked into the building where the fortune teller was supposed to be in.
I could hear the screams of men and women who entered the building.
One by one, they got out. Battered and bruised.
Some of them were even in casts and were using sticks to support their body.
I could guess what happened to them.
I have to wait for a while since the line was pretty long.
It was already pretty late when I arrived and although a few people also arrived after that they deciced to go back home after seeing the huge line.
Now, only I was left waiting for my turn to come up.
"It's your turn now. So comes with me." The pink Ghost said as he arrived.
"Comes along." He led me to the building where a short, pink-haired woman who was sitting on a glass orb was staring directly at me.
"I see the face of someone who is going to lose his life." She said as she looked directly at my face.
"Huh?" I was shocked.
I was not expecting that to be her first words.
"Can you tell me what it is?" I asked.
"Sure. But I don't think you can afford that new." She replied.
"Follow me." She said as she leads me to a platform that exists outside her building but not in the direction of the entrance where I came from.
The platform has a circular shape and is surrounded by water.
"I want you to defeat my warriors. For each warrior you defeat, I promise to answer your question or fulfil your request as long as it's within my capability." Baba replied to me.
One victory for one question? I don't remember that being her style. From what I remember, she only answers one of your questions if you defeat all of her fighters. I thought in my mind.
But I didn't ask her why she was willing to set a condition that gave me one answer for a victory.
But I agreed to her condition without a second thought. It was an opportunity that could not be missed.
"I will take the chance," I said as I looked straight into her eyes.
"I knew you would say that. That is what all outsiders would choose." She replied.
Outsider? The word that she said shocked me.
I didn't know what she knew and what she would do to me if she discovered that my soul was not originally from this world.
And I also didn't know why she said those words aloud.
Did she want me to use most of the questions to learn about why I am here?
Or is she warning me not to overstep my boundaries and just live like a normal person? I tried to clear out my mind.
"Get Ready. Come. Dracula-man." Baba said as she called out a weird name.
Dracula-man? Who is he? I don't remember such a name. What about Devil-Man or Grandpa Gohan? I thought in my mind.
A pale blue-skinned bat flew out.
And it transformed into a small pale blue, skinny humanoid creature who was wearing nothing but a pair of boxing shorts and gloves.
"Kikiki." The creature that resembled a human laughed.
He just showed me that he could transform into a small bat if I tried to attack him, he would just fly away by turning into one.
If only I could use my weapon. Wait a minute.
"Hey. Old lady? Are there any rules I have to follow during this test?" I asked.
"Don't fall into the water, that's all." She replied.
"That's reassuring," I said as I pulled out the pistol that Violet gave to me and aimed it towards the Vampire-man.
"Wait. Is that a Gun?" He said in shock.
I started to shoot at him using the pistol.
He transformed into a bat and dodged most of the bullets, but he was hit in one of his wings and his left knee.
After all, he only started dodging after a few rounds had already been fired.
If I asked the fortuneteller if I could use weapons like a gun, he would be more alert and would have more than enough reaction time to dodge every single shot from my pistol.
"Ahhhh," Vampire-man yelled out.
"I yield," he said in a voice full of pain.
If I were stronger, I could have given him a benefit of the doubt and let him go down the stage after yielding but I can't afford that kind of luxary.
I have to knock him down first.
I rushed towards him and then smacked Vampire-man in the face.
Vampire-man, who had already transformed back into his humanoid form, was unable to dodge my attack and fell into the water that surrounded the arena where we were fighting.
"That is far enough," Baba said.
"Now, do you want to ask me a question first, or try to fight off all my fighters first?" She asked me.
I looked aroud and saw that the pink Ghost help Vampire-man get out of the water and tend to his wounds.
"I will ask a question," I said to her.
"What year is the Kiaoshin coming to earth?" I asked her.
She raised her eyebrows at me. She does not look amused.
"I am unable to reveal the information about deities that rank even higher than Kami-sama." She replied.
"Then can I ask another question at the pace of my previous question?" I asked.
"No. I gives a reason why I cannot answer your question. It's not within my capabilies to answer that question. You have to beat my next fighter if you want to continue asking the questions." She replied while smiling.
I felt scammed, but she was the one who made the rules, so I decided not to complain.
If I make her upset, I might have to go back to the base without any information.
