Prince Lucas was riding his horse back to the black forest where he always stay. Apart from staying in the woods to avoid killing innocent humans, he had also been coming to the black forest to calm the beast residing within him. Even though he was a daylight monster who kills humans, his rational self was still able to overcome the beast.
After riding far deep into the black forest, he got down from his horse and began walk further deep into the black forest, far away from the strong scent of humans. He knew the more human blood he takes, he becomes twice stronger than a powerful vampire like the king, king Henry. As he was walking further deep into the black forest, he noticed a white bird on one of the trees. Even though the trees looked scary to the eyes of the human that are less powerful, but to the supernatural creatures like the vampires and other mystical creatures the tree is far normal than a normal tree planted by the mortals.
"The white bird, as if sensing a presence, suddenly flapped it's wings and flew away".
Lucas couldn't help but smile inwardly at the thought that a mere animal like a bird fears him too. He decided to look for something to do. Oh yes, he should look for a very dangerous animal to hunt till the blood lust subside to it's lowest level. That was the thought that crossed his mind and with that, he unclasps his sword from its sheath and also flew away deeper into the black forest with his wings.
The carriage kept on riding until the next sun shine.
The sun was shining bright in the sky. Lady Catherine had fallen asleep while she was thinking about her husband. She slowly stirred in her sleep as her eyes slowly fluttered opened and she quickly sat up straight only to realize that the carriage wasn't moving anymore.
Her eyes fell on the man who was supposed to be seated opposite her but wasn't there.
Her mind began to race non stop as she didn't know what to do.
"Mr Brody? !" She called out but there was no response.
Coachman. She called out but there was no single response. Her heart began to race in utter worry as slow fear began to creep it's way into her heart.
"Mr Brody, Coachman," she called out one more time but got no response. That got her more anxious and she slowly stood up raising the hem of her dress so as not to fall with the long dress.
She got down from the carriage only to gasp in utter shock.
The carriage was in the middle of the forest.
She was so shocked to her bones at the fact that the carriage was abruptly parked in the middle of an unknown forest and at the same time she couldn't catch sight of the two men that were supposed to take her to meet Lucas in Eldrida kingdom, the Coachman and Brody. Where exactly are they ? ! Her heart continue racing in fear and worry.
Oh no! Have they been attacked by.... no no, she won't have been alive if some wild animals have devoured them except... the men lured the dangerous animal that were about to attack them back to the forest. That was the logical explanation she could come with at this point.
She began to walk quietly so as not to attract any wild animals cause she won't be able to defend herself from their brutal attack on her.
While she was walking, she mistakenly stepped on something and almost stumbled over.
Oh no. She said and slowly turned to see what almost made her fall and her eyes widened in horror.
Oh no, this is the Coachman! ! ! She said as her hands flew to cover her mouth. Blood surrounded the man as though he was been mercilessly killed.
Oh... Just as she was about to bend down and touch him, something like bullet flew past her.
And like a swift reflec, Brody landed In front of her covered in blood. His mouth and nose were bleeding.
"Mr Brody what's happ..." Her words were cut off when Brody swiftly carried her in his arms.
"Forgive my manners milady, but we are in serious danger". He said and also leap high in the sky far away from the dead Coachman. Catherine didn't understand what was going on as she could do only one thing to not make things complicated for the poor man and that is too comply to his words.
Brody was leaping so high in the sky, very far away from the danger he had mentioned until they finally landed on top of a mountain close to a small stream. Brody slowly placed her on her feet to stand as Catherine gave a questioning look to explain," what the hell was going on".
Brody understood that look and slowly parted his lips to talk,
"Milady, while we were riding the carriage during the midnight. Some wild creatures had suddenly attacked us unexpectedly for some unknown reasons I'm yet to find out. Pls forgive me for my inconsistent behavior ". He bowed his head deeply in sincere apology for not protecting her.
Catherine shook her head. "No it's fine, what or who are the wild creatures that attack..."
"...us?" He completed her words when he noticed her hesitant words.
I'm not really sure but they looked like monstrous beasts. He said.
Oh. So can they reach us? And why did they suddenly attacked us? ! She asked worriedly.
Brody didn't know what to reply as he too didn't know why those monstrous beasts had suddenly lunged an attack on them.
I am not sure what to reply. He said and Catherine just nodded.
Oh. But are we still in the forest or almost close to the border of Eldrida kingdom? She asked. She was not only worried about what had happened but about the dream she had when she heard the words, "take him away". Those three words had engrave permanent fear in her heart that no matter how many times she tried to get it off her mind, it was as if it was stuck there.
