Chapter 1 - The First Mission Part 1

Prologue

Hello everyone,

It's my pleasure to share with you here my second story, although this is my second book. I admit that I am still an amateur writer, but I gained a lot from my first book, which is still ongoing.

This book is pure science fiction, unlike my previous one, and I urge you to check it out, please (Wake Up and Run). This story is not part of my previous book, although it is in the same universe.

What to expect from this book:

Alien worlds that are undergoing Armageddon.

Invaders from an unknown universe using artificial intelligence.

An advanced extraterrestrial system has conquered these worlds.

Superpowers and survival are earned through the system.

Planning and defending oneself.

An extraterrestrial race is poised to invade Earth.

This is the story of a young man who found himself in another world. That is in another dimension, a dimension that had experienced destruction and apocalypse; he found himself in a post-apocalyptic world.

Those who lived in that world mostly didn't survive the apocalypse. The remaining survivors of this world are mostly refugees in neighboring worlds.

Therefore, after destroying their world with their more advanced weapons, the leaders began looking for another world to invade.

Furthermore, no one is aware of the origin of the dimensional gate that opened unexpectedly in their world after they figured out how to enter other universes and planets.

But before invading directly, they decided to abduct humans from Earth and experiment on them to gain knowledge about their upcoming enemies and find a way to subjugate the human race and use them to build their homeworld.

Their world was invaded by an artificially intelligent race that needs a host to survive. No one knows its origin or what its end goal is. Like an airborne virus, it infected every member of the humanoid race that inhabited this world.

That created chaos everywhere, and the violence became trending everywhere on the planet. Not only that, but invaders changed their domesticated animals into various beasts that only kill without discrimination, and by consuming the other people, they grow in power, and eventually some of them gain intelligence.

Thousands of different animals and wild game, most of which were peaceful, became beasts. And monsters, so you can imagine carnivorous animals—how did they become that way? They became killing machines, monsters that destroy everything in front of them.

The alien invaders communicated through an interface called the system with their conscious hosts, but nobody knows how they communicated with beasts and the monsters.

Some of the conclusions they reached were only just theoretical, which was that the system was behind their evolution. But there was nothing convulsive.

At that point the only solution was to look for another place to live and invade another planet. One of the things that drove the inhabitants to abduct humans and other races was to see how the system affected them, but none of their experiments were successful.

One of the known side effects of the system was monoplating the memories of the individual they occupied as a host, which in turn creates confusion for the individual, and sometimes he or she cannot differentiate between family members or total strangers.

Thomas was among 10 humans abducted from Earth in a smart way to not raise any suspicion among the humans of Earth. They abducted 2 human males and a female from each continent and from different countries.

His journey started through a few tests, so will he pass those tests? will he be able to survive this alien world and gather the other humans scattered throughout the planet? will he gain enough power to fight a whole dimension with many worlds, and stop or prevent invasion of earth.

Please be mindful of that English is not my first language, so please correct me if you see any mistakes.

Aaaah..... Aaaaaah..... A headache, a very severe headache. I could only scream because the pain was so great. Grasping both sides of my temple with both hands, I was unable to even open my eyes. I screamed for nearly a full minute because of the pain. I finally stopped screaming as the pain went away. My eyes were closed the entire time I was yelling, so I tried to open them.

Gradually, I managed to open my eyes while still clutching my head, which continued to throb with pain so excruciating that it reduced a grown man like me to a childlike state. The only justification I could muster was that this headache was unprecedented, and I had never encountered such agony before. I recalled having some analgesic medication stored in the kitchen cabinets. As I cautiously opened my eyes, I contemplated heading to the kitchen to retrieve the medicine, but I couldn't discern anything. The darkness was so absolute that I doubted whether my eyes were truly open or still shut.

I was enveloped in an impenetrable void, unable to see anything. In an attempt to get a glimpse or allow my eyes to adjust to the darkness, I blinked many times, but to no avail. I was unable to think clearly because of the ongoing headache. Determined to find my way through the darkness, I tried to find the kitchen.

I couldn't possibly lose my way in the one-bedroom apartment I had inhabited for years. All I needed to do was proceed straight ahead; the door to my room was directly opposite me, and upon exiting, the kitchen lay slightly to the right, with the cabinets positioned on my right-hand side.

I didn't even pause to ponder the cause of this darkness or the headache or why I was incapacitated; my sole focus was obtaining relief for this headache, which was utterly debilitating my thought process. There was no time to contemplate anything else, but as I attempted to rise from the bed, the headache surged back with double the intensity, compelling me to scream once more. This time, I collapsed onto the bed, clutching my head.

I am certain that I lost consciousness while screaming. How long was I unconscious? I couldn't ascertain when I regained awareness the second time, but this time the headache had diminished to a faint trace. It now resembled the typical headaches one experiences daily. I refrained from moving from the bed while the headache remained tolerable, yet the darkness persisted. Ordinarily, when you find yourself in a dark environment, your eyes eventually adjust, enabling you to discern your surroundings and perceive the outlines of objects. However, this was an entirely different kind of darkness—the kind only a blind person might experience.

Had I become blind due to the headache, or was the headache a consequence of my blindness? That was the thought that crossed my mind as I raised my hand before my face and failed to perceive anything. Then I remembered the window near my bed. If I opened it, perhaps some light from outside would penetrate. Feeling the wall beside me with my hand, I searched for the window latch to open it, and after a few moments, I succeeded. However, there was nothing—not a single ray of light entered, and, curiously, no air either.

I extended my hand outside the window and discovered the reason: there was another wall outside the window, obstructing the exterior view. It was not the usual outside view in front of the building, but now a wall sealed the window. How could there be a wall in front of my window, and who could have constructed it on the sixteenth floor during the night while I was asleep?

Another enigma emerged instead of the solution I had anticipated. At least now the headache was less severe, and I could move, unlike before. I attempted to find my way to the kitchen. Ordinarily, it would take no more than four steps to reach the door, but now, after only two steps, I encountered another wall directly in front of me. "This is inconceivable; my room was never this small," I exclaimed aloud as though conversing with someone. I began examining the wall with my hands, searching for a door. I first moved to the right, and the wall ended with another after only three steps. Then I moved to the left, and the same occurred after five steps from the far right—the wall terminated with another wall, and no door was to be found anywhere. It took mere seconds to inspect the room, and there were no openings anywhere except the window, which was also obstructed by a wall.

So where am I? What am I doing here, and most importantly, how did I end up here in the first place? And why would anyone confine me in a place like this? WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING HERE? All I could do was shout that, but there was no response, naturally. Is there even someone out there? And if there is, would they be able to hear my shouting? Suddenly, I began hearing a voice inside my head—a female voice, but it sounded like an automated message. I attempted to communicate with her: "Hello, can you hear me? Where am I? Who are you?" But there was no reply. I could hear the ongoing message.
