Eris blinked, then suddenly turned to stare at Ghislaine's Heijou.

The crimson blade remained flawless.

Allen's voice, sharp as steel, cut through the silence.

"By pushing Flow Sense to its limits, I did catch Ghislaine's killing intent. I predicted the strike's trajectory and barely managed to intercept it with the Flow Secret Art."

"But that's all."

He pointed to the notch on his blade.

"Even with Qi reinforcement and the Flow Art, my sword couldn't fully deflect her Light Reaper. The force concentrated at a single point still carved into it."

Rudeus' eyes widened.

"Then… does that mean…?"

"It exceeded Boulder's tolerance," Allen confirmed.

"Since my Flow Art couldn't alter Ghislaine's slash, Boulder became useless. Strictly speaking, only Flow Sense worked. The follow-up counter was just an empty threat—intent without substance."

He exhaled, dispersing the lingering killing intent.

The oppressive aura vanished.

Rudeus and Eris finally relaxed.

Allen's tone softened.

"In short, at my current level, I can't fully counter a Sword King's Light Reaper."

Ghislaine shook her head.

What Water Saint could?

Let alone predict its landing point.

Eris nodded vigorously.

"I get it now!"

Allen shrugged.

Good enough.

His goal had been to see the Light Reaper's path.

And he had.

Pushing Flow Sense to the extreme allowed him to track even a peak Sword King's strike.

Once he refined Mind Flow and the Flow Art further—

Once he reached Water King—

Boulder would yield a very different result.

Ghislaine's tail swayed contentedly—until her ears twitched.

She turned to Eris.

"Did you see that strike?"

"Nope! Not at all!" Eris answered cheerfully.

Allen and Ghislaine exchanged glances.

Right.

This was supposed to be a lesson.

Yet they'd gone all out—Flow Sense, Light Reaper—

For a beginner swordsman, it was like explaining calculus to a toddler.

Ghislaine coughed.

"What about the Sword Saint-level strike earlier?"

Eris flushed, arms crossed.

"I—I kinda saw it!!"

"So you didn't," Allen deadpanned.

Eris huffed but wilted under Ghislaine's stare.

"Fine! I didn't! But it was cool! Do it again!"

Allen scratched his head.

"Maybe… switch to theory?"

"NO!"

Eris' eyebrows shot up.

"You promised no more theory today!"

Rudeus stared.

Who promised that?!

He looked to Allen and Ghislaine for backup—

Only to find Allen nodding along.

Even if she's your sister, this is too much!!

Since when is temper tantrums = cute?!

He whirled toward Ghislaine—

Surely the strict teacher would—

"No theory? Hm. The Water God Style is quite different. If Allen agrees, so do I. He must have a plan."

Rudeus' soul left his body.

This is a feedback loop of indulgence!!

Allen spoils Eris because "cute sister."

Ghislaine spoils Allen because "genius."

Thus, Ghislaine also spoils Eris.

SYLPHIE!! COME FIX THESE SWORD BRAINS!!

As Rudeus short-circuited, Allen spoke again.

"For Eris' level… the Silent Reaper might work better."

Ghislaine considered it.

"Possible."

Rudeus gaped.

They actually had a solution?

But even the Silent Reaper required theory—

Wait, had Paul ever taught Allen theory properly?

…No. No, he had not.

"Watch closely, Eris."

Allen's voice snapped Rudeus back.

A breeze brushed his cheek—

And a blade materialized soundlessly from thin air.

The Silent Reaper.
